LOL. It was all a last minute experiment. My other video's are much more targeted and I use a tire mounting machine to peel the chrome covers off.

Great video. I damaged my original chrome wheel cover & wondered how to remove it so I could replace it with a new wheel cover, now I know. Thanks

Methyl ethyl ketone will dissolve most foams and some plastics/adhesives. It's far more reactive than acetone. I'm sure there's probably a known-method for this removal (which is probably not the method used in the video), but if I had to guess at it, I'd have set the clad side down in a dish of warm MEK for about 2-4 hours, and I bet you it would have fallen clean off around then if not sooner. Then a scotch Brite pad likely would have practically wiped anything remaining off. Ahhh, I hate the sound of someone dragging an aluminum wheel around on concrete, for obvious reasons. Come on man, why beat the crap out of something you're talking about refinishing? Sheesh.

Chrometec wheels are a solution that was looking for a problem. Now, it created one.

i have found slicing the adhesive on the inside of each spoke then a prybar through the hub hole prying on the back of the lug holes on the plastic is the best way to pop the plastic off.. just trying to find thr best way to clean the adhesive off the aluminum now.. my guess is paint stripper..

Air powered die grinder worked well for me then sand blasting them.

Do you know what kind of foam adhesive they use? I had my plastic cap just fall off.... wish mine were on as good as the one you had to remove?? Any information will help. Thanks.

No idea on the exact foam used, but it was a polyurethane foam of some type.
