Taichi was derived after QiGong that’s been in existence for over 5000 yrs

Taichi is not a Qi Gong. That's a very reductive view of Taichi.
Qi Gong is a component of Taichi. Taichi shares part of its internal work with Qi Gong. The other and more important part is Nei Gong, which is a more advanced practice compared to Qi Gong.

Disagree 100%. TaiChi is a qigong. Notice the period, @kelGhu just because your teacher did not know, does not mean you cannot learn. Can you describe all the aspects of posture, breath work, and mental intention of your particular TaiChi/Qigong style? If it is not energy skill, what is it? Do not shoot the messenger, just go inside and seek. No more secrets, just hard work! The days of my kung fu is stronger than your kung fu is over. Grow up and individuate, you have the capacity, I believe in you!

@@QigongYogaShamanism Can I describe posture, breathing, etc..? Yes, of course. Furthermore, I can also apply all Jin.
I have more than 20 years of practice. I am pretty sure I know Taichi more than you do. I am a Chen style disciple from Feng Zhiquiang lineage, and I also practice Yang and Sun style. My practice also includes Hunyuan Qi Gong system, and I also do Taoist Alchemy work.
Taiji Quan is a martial art first and foremost. If you believe anything else, you're deeply misguided.
Qi Gong formal concepts have been added to Taiji Quan much later after Chen Wanting formalized its family boxing style. True martial Taiji Quan masters often say that Qi Gong practitioners have Qi but don't know how to use it. That's because their Qi Gong is limited in scope. Without the additional internal martial arts Nei Gong, it is impossible for Qi Gong and casual "Taichi" practitioners to project their Qi martially.
Again, saying Taichi is a Qi Gong is completely reductive of what the art really is. It's primarily a martial art. It has Qi Gong components, and more importantly it has its specific Nei Gong. And if you don't do 2-people pressure testing drills, push-hands and sparring, you simply are not learning true Taiji Quan. If you can't apply the 8 Jin of Taichi, don't understand the stick-adhere-join-follow sequence or the transform-seize-emit (Hua, Na, Fa) process, you are simply not doing Taiji Quan.
So yes, you can take a Taiji Quan form and use it to do Qi Gong. But you can actually take any Wushu form, do it slowly and apply Qi Gong principles to it. But that is still primarily a Qi Gong exercise. But the intent of Taiji Quan is a martial exercise.
Taiji Quan has been denatured in the West just like Yoga. People see "Taichi" as a simple healthy exercise when its true essence is one of the most powerful martial arts there is. Just like Yoga went from a deep spiritual practice to a stretching exercise in gyms. Hatha Yoga in the West has completely lost its essence.
I repeat. Taiji Quan is not a Qi Gong. It can be used as such, but its essence is much more than just Qi Gong. I suggest you read the "Taichi" classics. All the ancient Taiji Quan texts describing the art. You will see "Taichi" is more than just Qi Gong.
