How to Remove a Door from it’s Hinges

- In this video, I show you how to take a door off of its hinges and also how to reinstall the door. There are a few different hinges but you can usually use the same couple of tools to help get this job done. This can work for both interior and exterior doors.

You gave me (only 5 ft. tall and a senior citizen) confidence to tackle this myself instead of hiring a handyman to remove the door And unlike other videos, you showed all three different types of hinges and of course I had the most difficult one. Much appreciated.
Just make sure your door is hollow and not solid core

OMG, something I actually knew how to do. I have the exact door you started the video with. I used an allen wrench in the hole to hammer out the pin. Nice, now I learned how to easily remove doors! I knew it was just as simple as removing the hinge pin but the only time I tried i couldn't get it out and decided that that was a really difficult task. This video changed my mind :)

You can also lever the door with a couple pieces of of scrap or a screwdriver to help line it up.

I'm trying to remove a door.that has caps over the hinge pins. I got the caps off thanks to your tips but the pins are stuck.solid inside the hingea.

Hi, I have the door called Swedoor and these does not use the same pin, but there is a screw instead. Do you maye have a clue, how to take this type of the door down as well ...?

Having a new fridge delivered that won't fit through the door, and Best Buy doesn't do doors, so I found this video showing me that Best Buy is lazy, so I'll remove the door myself.

I have to remove a bathroom door to fit a washer/dryer thru.
My hinge pin has a "head" at the top and the bottom?

Buy the tools you need friend, that part's your job to take care of. I learned this same thing myself, and I hope I don't come across as rude, but that was how I transitioned from being a kid with inexperience and would depend on others for help to figuring out how to function all by myself as an adult. This is a way I equate it I mean. It's very cool to take little baby steps!
