I taught elementary school for 40 years. I wish you could’ve experienced the education system that existed 40 years ago. Teachers truly had the freedom to teach and be creative. They were very well trained and highly respected and supported. The system that exists today is none of that. Never doubt your decision to leave it. You absolutely did the right thing! Love your rig and your dog is precious. Good luck to you!💕
wow so good to see someone so happy! Thank you for being a wonderful dog mommy! And I also enjoyed seeing someone being a terrific yoga teacher and not look like a skinny match stick! Good luck to you and your loved ones!
I totally understand about teaching!!! Today’s bad influence on kids, some parents and just today’s society in general, I CANNOT Imagine being a teacher today!
I got out of teaching just in time, as teenagers especially middle school girls act out with arrogant and mean attitude in the classroom - thinking and copying celebrity narcissistic behavior of Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and Jennifer Lope - todays "role models." Part of the problem is the women principals and administration are afraid of the parents. If the Democrats get in, this permissive nightmare behavior with students is only going to get worse.
@@MitchellWilkinson-m8n LOL! If you think Trump is gonna do a got dam thing that could change the behavior of kids these days, you are as delusional as he is.
Kudos to you! Being a teacher is very demanding. I'm retiring this spring after 35 years of teaching. We will be most-timing in our rv. So much to see in this beautiful country of ours!
I’m 27 months into living in my 24’ motorhome. Happiest I’ve been in 20 years with the lifestyle. Next summer I’ll be downsizing into a Sprinter. Can’t wait, no regrets!
At 67 my wife & I downsized into a 40 foot living quarters horse trailer and traveled with 2 horses & 3 dogs. We stayed at horse campgrounds all over this nation and rode our horses on spectacular trails! Now at 71, we are live nomadic in a 32 foot fifth wheel trailer traveling without our horses. They are "vacationing" at our granddaughter's little farm. At this moment we are camping just outside of Lake Tahoe heading out to tour the California Pacific Coast. FREEDOM!!!
This is absolutely wonderful! I'm fascinated with truck campers. They are amazing. I live in a 27' RV, and think I could definitely downsize and live in a truck camper. It's so practical and makes great sense to me. Your renovation is beautiful. You have the prettiest wet bath I've seen. Adding the hanging plant is so special. I'm so happy you for you, making this lifestyle change. It's horrible when you lose yourself completely, and it's hard work making a change to bring yourself back. The rewards are incredible. Tell me one thing, how easily did you dog adjust? I have 2 dogs and a cat. I often wonder what is would be like making that adjustment. Lol Thanks for the tour and your uplifting story. 🩷
We lived in a 29 foot trailer before this too! Our pup had a pretty easy adjustment because we spend most of the day outside, exploring and that’s just her favorite thing to do!!
I'm not really a Yoga kinda guy but I am an outdoorsman. I agree with you completely about having to protect your personal needs with life outdoors. The time is near when I'll be back to that. Congrats on your choice!
Another teacher here, still in the game . . . I'm a bit jealous, teaching most definitely is a drain on mental health. Shouldn't be, but totally is. :(
She’s beautiful, great rig! I love that old dodge! My sister is still a teacher, currently teaching 5th… same school, same district 29 years… I’ve worked ems for my whole life and we compare war stories 😂😂 the things teachers put up with is a shame. The district and schools don’t support them when you have all these horrible kids and the schools cater to them sad to say. So much more entitlement in this day and age and people are way more soft than when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. I have nothing but respect for teachers… especially those that stick it out because it’s truly brutal.
As a former college level instructor I can identify! In my younger years I did a lot of travel camping USA, Canada and Europe, with wife and two sons who are now grown and long gone into middle age. We all eventually find a way of life that fits. This young woman has found hers!
Good on you for choosing to live the life you want, instead of following the rules set by this society. I have a lot of respect for Teachers they deserve a lot more, stay safe, and take care.
There's remote teaching jobs. Social Work also is a draining job that doesn't pay much with a Bachelor's Degree. It's not an easy job working with clients and families. Nice truck camper!! I'm looking to retire from social services because I get a lot of burnout. Nice renovations!! This truck camper has everything they need.
You are soooo true...teaching drains your mental health. I am in that exact spot right now. I am ready to get rid of that load and get a more peaceful lifestyle. I am glad you made the change, hopefully I will do it soon. I really need it.
Cute comfy set up you have for your trunk camper Id be happy living like this and be able to travel about. love your dog Remy so cute , Thanks for inviting us to view your tiny on wheels camper .
As a former teacher, the struggle is real. Teaching is a thankless job but it might be worth it if the profession as a whole was held in high esteem in the eyes of society, which it isn't. Enjoy your new lease on life!
The ceiling really makes the space. You said you glued it in place. Can you elaborate a little bit on your method? Gluing usually requires that things be held in place while the glue hardens.
I have that same air fryer, funny. Also, I have a 3/4 ton Ram gasser. The long bed is probably better for a truck camper but I'm probably getting a camper in the next year or so. Looking at essentially the same camper you have.
Snappy, very impressive video production! Kudos. And I have never seen a rig with the sink installed diagonally before, and I think it is a great design. You get the space behind the sink to keep important things, and more counter space. If I was to do this and could get the battery power I would have a single burner induction cooktop & microwave. One Question: When you say "we", do you mean yourself and your dog? Is that a little bit weird? But at least it's not a cat. ;-) Cutest dog by the way, he looks like a person in a dogsuit! Oh, you tricked us.
Glad you like the change. Jobs can definitely, be stressful. I live in a small town in the Rockies. The most expensive vehicle in town, is driven by a retired school teachet. Just sayin'.
I can relate to your experience of teaching. No support from admin. deranged parents, and entitled students made teaching impossible, so after 37 years of teaching, I had to retire or have a nervous breakdown. I loved teaching but since moving to an upper class school, I was amazed at how parents and their spoiled children treat me so disrespectfully. So, if I was younger, I would have quit teaching and sold insurance or anything else. I don’t recommend a teaching career to ANYONE!!! Good for you for leaving teaching. Enjoy your life and live simple! Acquisition of material stuff is not worth it!
So happy you left the field of academia. It would have slowly turned you into a Grinch! Too many things happening in the classroom you have no control over and little help from admin. and many of the parents. Parents, homeschool your children if at all possible! Enjoy your new found freedom! Love your doggie!
Two people and a dog in that small a space? Nyope! I wouldn't do it, but if that's their idea of paradise they can have at it. I'm very much leaning towards a truck with slide in camper when I retire, but that's only because it will be just me and my chihuahua mix. If I was partnered with someone a slide in would be entirely too small.
I was a nurse for 48 years and it was rewarding and challenging at times. But I believe that there is a special place in heaven for teachers, of children of all ages. I think because parenting is so different.

I left teaching two years ago, the stress and lack of administrative and parent support made it impossible to stay any longer.

I only made it 6 years as a teacher. Now work at a spay/neuter clinic where everything comes in a kennel or on a leash🤣. Best job ever! Happy travels!

Teachers now are being paid well and get many benefits to go along with the job. Well worth the time in ones old age.
I taught 30 years ago in our church school.
Yes, reaching IS mentally taxing!
Enjoy your truck house
A teacher that can't spell *teaching!!
It was a mistake. Not intentional!
Does it appear that people are too judgemental?
Would common sense have told anybody that it was a typo?
@@marshajamison7463If you want to avoid the trolls, you could edit your comment, thus correcting the typo. Just a thought, God bless.

Very pretty home. You have everything you need there. Do you stay in one area for the yoga or move around? Amazing life!❤
I’m in Bend Oregon all summer and have a great community there! I travel all winter!
What makes you happy is the most important in life.
Just use a spray bottle with Vinegar and water. Spray your dishes and wipe. Also clean your fruit and veggies too
Excellent presentation!

Retired teacher here. I applaud her for protecting her mental health. She's living the life that makes her happy. That is gold!✨️✨️
Hey tiny home tours 😊👋
Emily is 🔥.
Great stuff. $15K seems a lot of money, though. The truck is over 20 years old.
The secondgen ram is notorious for bad transmissions
Nice truck
Sooo beautiful
Hurray
I travel with my Nindendo Wii we got married last year.
flicking from one view to the next makes it difficult to get a clear picture of the interior. Other than that, it seems nice.
The camper is nice. Next time you need a truck, I would not by a Ram. Get Toyota or Ford with a manual transmission.
hi nice rig😃
I’m getting ready to do this life style but seems Arizona and Nevada are the only good states for this living. Other states are becoming a cash grab
How are y'all doing
