  • In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create 2 unique displacements for glass materials like stained glass in Blender. We'll also be showing some other cool results along the way. We'll be using only the built-in texture nodes in Blender Cycles Render and with the maximum of 4 nodes.
Note: I came up with this tutorial idea while sitting in Starbucks and starting writing down node set up ideas in my notebook haha!

You sure have a lot of displacement tutorials that have to do with the in software textures lol. Cool stuff man

Funny thing, When I play in the node editor (my home *cough*) and try to come up with new material setups, I end up creating displacements ha ha

Can you make a tutorial on how to scale a texture. I've been trying to figure that out.

      1. Add a Texture Coordinate Node, a Mapping Node and the texture Node (left to right)
      2. Connect them
      3. Use the scale values in the Mapping Node to scale the texture.

Very nice glass. I'm hoping if you have time, you can also share suggestions on where these materials would go too. Google might help, but small personal tips from you would be better

Hi Edwin, if you're asking what these materials could be used for, these would be great for stained glass (like stained glass windows), or you can use them for anything else other than stained glass, like a chipped surface.

I meant like small suggestions in this and future videos. But this was just me commenting, you're doing a great job so far with your tutorials.

the beginning is very aggravating, you pass off the glass shader, as so simple. to pause in copy. but thats a huge part of successfully creating this. ugh.
