#planetside2 #bestweapons #guide
I would focus on weapons that enable new playstyles which happen to be "easy," because I have found that when newbies say they want something better/easier than what they have, it's because they are using the default weapons outside of their ideal range. Like trying to snipe with a carbine. So for TR, I might have chosen the HSR-1, Armistice, Cougar, and Commissioner
This is great because newbies do not instantly know where to aim from a distance and end up with longer range weapons in face to face zones head to head, if they had armstice, cougar variant, and emissary as secondary weapon they could switch back and forth with movement around incline corners steps ramps at close range and be effective. But they shall keep getting hit over and over from mid to long range all day long with high pop zones and wiped out. that is frustrating because i have been playing for years and i cannot see or even spot those targets they did on this screen, it takes a long time for me to even spot another player before they get me. So i play on other strengths like bursting into close range zones unexpectedly releasing all grenades and guns blazing, it kind of gets their attention while better aimers take the ones out trying to hit me running through throwing everything the whole works, all grenades all mines, laying down a spitfire auto turret, all ammo, and guns blazing. but then naturally i am kicked from server after taking down an entire room when all the players have been shooting at each other for more than the several seconds i need.
The LC-3 Jaguar actually moves 50% (not 25%) faster than other weapons (0.50 times 1.5 is 0.75) making the 0.75 ADS movement speed so good! Great video as always!
Guess he meant percentage points, common mistake!
Good shout mate, thank you!
@CAMIKAZE78 Sorry if I came off as a smart-ass! My inner mathematician likes to rudely poke out once in while. :o
No not at all mate! ☺️
Good someone fact checking the content manufacturers hitting new players with these fake stats so we aren't investing our time into BS advice literally telling us totally incorrect information.
Some great points. I wanted to say the old "battle rifles" should come before the 250 damage scout rifles, but the cert cost and underbarrel options are a boon when so cert poor.
Only thing I would add would be the semi-auto snipers. I find many early players struggle to learn long range sniper engagements and bolters only lengthen that learning gap. Having a faster firing sniper with multiple aids helps to learn hitting your target while they transition. And they only cost 325 certs.
I used the MSW-R for a long time on my heavy so much so that I completed its auraxim thing way before any other weapons. But as I've been improving I find myself having great success with the TMG-50 and Rhino.
Also when I booted up Planetside one of the pop-up news things was his easy to use videos on NC weapons. And I love how the developers support and acknowledge their content creators.
As a vanu main who wants to finally try playing other factions every once in a blue moon, thank you.
Great idea for a video and excellent execution on the subject. Well done! I look forward to the VS edition.
Gotta offer my recommendation on the CME. Yes, low damage (same model as the NS-11A) but even less recoil. Equip a compensator and laser sight and observe as there is no recoil
Cheers mate!
could you name the list on the spec sheet please?
BEST & STARTING USE WEAPONS OVERALL FOR THE TERRAN REPUBLIC ARE =
1) MSWR.
2) TORQUE 9. Mainly medic. Wish had for all players especially jump jetter light assault.
3) WATCHMAN. Heavy assault.
4) AMR 66 Terran Republic version. Warden NC version. VE33 VS version. Mainly for the Cloaker and engineer.
5) LC3 JAGUAR.
I find the LMG Rhino also a decent for new starters - moderated price, no need for full attachments and soft recoil makes the weapon fun and satisfactory when you start landing shots. Downside is the damage or RPS not the strongest… yet I think would be taking the place of watchman for this video.
Good video ❤!
The watchman and rhino are actually very good at long range
I agree on the Watchman. You don't need to worry about recoil, so it's a very easy gun to use in close range. It's possibly the best LMG available to TR because the reward for how easy it is to use is a good ratio.
Half this comment section is just shitter single faction mains huffing ungodly amounts of copium from their breathing machines.
I don't know if you're going to be doing a video for ns weapons specifically, but I think it's a good shout to put the ns-11a on these. Especially since I think you can still get the ns-11p for free it's a weapon that you can throw on any faction and it's fantastic. Maybe I'm biased because it's what I used to learn the game again after not playing for like 7 years, but it feels way easier to use to me than almost anything else. The torq 9 is the one exception.
There will be a video specific to NS weapons too :)
the dragoon
the most destructive pos ive ever used
no damage fall off with the option of full auto fire
you slap a 3.4 on that bad boy and everything is a 3-4 shot kill but up close missing a single shot is about as punishing as cutting your whole finger off dicing onions
it ends up in the same place as the watchman teaching you crosshair placement and giving you a lil practice with slower weapons since a majority of the arsenal is faster with less recoil
I do have 'some' problems with 2 weapons being included "for the reasons they are included".
The LC3 Jaguar is included specifically for the reason of having a faster ADS movement speed which is actually really powerful for new and old players alike...but it comes at the cost of having a slightly more aggressive recoil, even if it does have 'no bias'. Instead, for new players I would say they benefit more from the hipfire capabilities of the weapon making it a great pairing for Light Assault use.
The Watchman might be extremely powerful if you aim for the head, but the problem EVERYONE overlooks is it's absolutely horrible cone of fire while aiming. 0.25 across the board, except 0.3 when standing and moving. This means that any player that stands perfectly still, will fire their 'first' shot with the same accuracy as another LMG fires it's 5th shot in many cases. The Watchman teaches the "wrong" lessons for new players, in that it teaches new players that they should be moving and shooting LMGs, as this LMG has essentially no punishment for movement. In actuality, most LMGs have a 0.1 accuracy while standing/crouching still, and a ~0.4 accuracy while moving. The standard 0.25+ accuracy across the board also means that the Watchman has abysmal accuracy past like....10 meters? This means that the requirement to hit several headshots in a row is countered by it's cone of fire allowing shots to wizz past the head of even the most well aimed shots. Instead, this weapon emphasizes body shots, which allows for consistent damage over time against even the longest of ranged targets. Overall, this is not very new-player friendly.
If I wanted to pick a more consistent LMG for short/medium range headshots that has a reliable recoil and retains it's accuracy, I think I would rather mention the Carv-S. Sure, it doesn't have the raw damage that the other weapons have, but it retains more damage than the Bull/Rhino-it has less vertical recoil than the Carv, lower first shot recoil, and half the horizontal tolerance. Compared to the MSW-R it has slightly better horizontal recoil, no bias (msw-r does have bias) and has a lower first shot multiplier. Its fire-rate is lower than those weapons, sure, but its still a respectable amount of damage it can dish out, and it has the full mag size whereas msw-r has half and has a faster reload speed than the regular Carv and (kinda obviously) has access to attachments that the Carv would want, further making it easier to use for a new player via the Compensator or even Heavy Barrel.
Agree on Carv-S, at least after arsenal update; it's way better than any other S-variant I can think of considering horizontal recoil/tolerance can't be chalked up to skill issue. I wouldn't call MSW-R a particularly easy gun either, but I get where he's coming from, getting new players used to such things early. Generally speaking TR guns are probably the most difficult relatively speaking.
>The Watchman teaches the "wrong" lessons for new players, in that it teaches new players that they should be moving and shooting LMGs
You should absolutely be moving with every LMG. I'm not sure what your point is here?
>The standard 0.25+ accuracy across the board also means that the Watchman has abysmal accuracy past like....10 meters?
The Watchman is one of the more accurate LMGs available to TR, and perfectly usable to 50m and beyond with proper bursting. In this regard, the slightly higher bloom on the Watchman teaches new players that bursting is very important in this game and should be done with any weapon.
The Jaguar is extremely easy to use. It was my fastest auraxium by several hours. The hipfire is so good and the ADS multiplier makes it so that even outside of hipfire ranges, you still have an advantage.
The Carv-S is at the bottom of the list for LMG competitiveness. It's actually harder to get kills with than guns like the Watchman or Carv.
@@JohnFromAccounting For the Jaguar, I wasn't trying to say it wasn't good, just that a newer player might want to emphasize it's hipfire capabilities more than the aimed capabilities. As a newer player I "liked" engineer, but light assault definitely feels like a much more exciting class to play with carbines early on....and a light assault would definitely want the hipfire capabilities of the jaguar.
As for the Carv-S, if you are having problems with it, then maybe you need to start looking into the different playstyles of HA. In my case, I'm actually playing LMG Engineer and finding great success with the "bottom of the list" LMG without having the HAs shield.
Ah nice to see the Jaguar on here. I honestly forgot that it isn't the default, as it was the gun that got me wanting to play infantry on TR... just that none of my friends wanted to play TR at the time XD
when i was doing the butcher directive i loved using the watchmen
Not having the t5 amc on here feels criminal the gun defines the new players first gun with its price and ease of use imo
Best novice carbine is indeed jaguar or trac-5. But t5 amc is pretty useless as there are a lot of other carbines who can do same but better. Technically, i'd say this is the poorest carbine TR has atm.
@@provalivay Wait, you still think the T5 AMC is the worst Carbine even after the not-so-recent buff?
@@ItsMoorbinTime for me, best quality of a carbine is a dps at close range. Why close? Because that is a range where LA outshine other classes. For mid-long range i have a Blackhand and it does work with that better than any other TR carbine. So T4 AMC still doesn't have capabilities to outdps enemies in 1x1 face to face fight. I would not say it's completely useless, but i think it just not fit LA role in this game.
@@provalivay Nah, t5 with angled forgrip is so low recoil, extremely accurate, and decent damaging. My goto gun for engineer.
Of course for light assault, though I prefer jaguar, mostly for its great hipfire when I am using my jetpacks.
Because the T5 AMC while useful, has an incredibly low skill ceiling. It doesn't grow with you as a player very well, and while can be incredibly easy to use out of the gate, it's not the kind of weapon I would recommend for the long haul. As we said at the start of the video, the 'exclusively' easy weapons were not in the scope of this video.
After ~50 000 kills as a TR I use Carv or Naginata (LMG), Unity (Assault rifle, advanced analog of Cycler), Lynx or TracShot (Carabines). 95% of time I use short barrel+grip+extended magazine if available. Actually the default guns are good.
The Nagi and its bigger cousin the Promise are counter intuitive. They teach you how not to play. For a new player if they learn on these two and switch to anything else, the hold the trigger method will be their doom.
I'd say one that taught me something was the LC2 Lynx. When I first bought the gun I had no idea how to use it. So alot of my engagements ended in frustration because of its cone of fire and lack of distance accuracy. I'll admit I blamed myself and said it was a skill issue but even when I pushed myself I found it inadequate, which brings me to my point. The Lynx is a medium-range weapon designed for maneuverability that pairs well with light assaults because it has great hip-fire accuracy. Once I painfully realized this on my own, I became a much deadlier and found myself having fun. All this to say I learned how to hip-fire in PS2 from the LC2 Lynx. I think it's an important aspect to remember given how much some builds benefit from it. (btw surprised not to see any shotguns in the list lol)
Hey, nice vid!
You undersold the 0.75x ADS movement multiplier a bit: It's actually 50% faster than 0.5x ADS multiplier, when comparing the two ADS speeds :D
Good shout mate!
If I were to add just one weapon to this list, it would be the MG-A1 Arbalest. If I could use it on every class, I would, and it's the primary reason I took the ASP perk to add ARs to my Engineer primary pool. Where a semi-auto sniper or battle rifle would be useful, the Arbalest is decisive. With the Stabilizing Rotor, a 3.4-4x sight, and the ridiculously powerful Impact Ammo, it turns into a death-spitting machine of carnage at long ranges, able to out-damage snipers at any range, while every other opponent you face becomes a laughable, insignificant target. A single burst on a head at any range is an immediate kill, and most targets don't even need all the shots to land. If you don't get a one-burst kill, simply click one more time and move on with life. It's astounding to me that I don't see more players using this thing. It's the most menacing weapon in the TR infantry arsenal at medium- to long-range. I would also posit that it's one of the easiest weapons to use; while most burst weapons count on you countering the recoil of a single short burst, then having to correct again before firing another burst, the 6-round burst and negligible recoil make the Arbalest incredibly easy to control.
Just to add a side note as well, the Watchman also has impact ammo.
I have to say, the Lasher really helped me to learn how long weapons lock lasts. Does that count?
100% helps!
playing as NC didn't?
Could not agree more with the watchman. I was one of my first lmg purchases based only on "spinning barrels look cool". Well worth the certs and an excellent teacher for headshots.
Also for new players: Net code in this game Sucks badly because it's a client side (especially compare to other Multiplayer Games like Battlefield), servers is a bit meh + Hit reg is random - sometimes it works perfectly sometimes your enemy can FACETANK 4 Pointblank Shotgun shots and NOT DIE.
And borderline cheaters (aka Salty Vets) that can beam you across the map with 1x red dot with Some borderline Aimboting skills. Also Lag switchers...
(I'm Calling borderline because It's hard to tell but sometimes is very suspicious)
For some unknown reason, most borderline cheaters I have encountered is on Vanu side. If you're playing on Cobalt server be aware of [TRNK] Trinkhallenlifestyle VS clan. These dudes are
aimboting like crazy sometimes.
Vanu cheaters are not actually cheaters, it's just years of practice + totally OP laser guns like beetlejuice or serpent.
@@provalivay No, Vanu has a lot of cheaters depending on what server. Plenty of Vanu cheaters on Connery, while other servers the cheaters are on TR or NC.
@@JohnFromAccounting where do you have this statistic? can i check it?
Will there be a video for the NSO faction? They have it total less weapons than the older factions.
So i wanted to ask, any chance of special mentions for NS weapons? Due to how DBC works, having weapons that can be used on multiple factions are extremely useful, but i feel like you're deliberately choosing faction specific for these vids. an extra video or maybe even side mentions like how the AMR-66 is "technically" multi factional. i would expect the NS11c or maybe the tomoe could get a mention?
NS weapons will be getting some love in an upcoming video :)
I think one of the easiest weapons to use is the MGR-L1 Promise. It has no recoil and a large magazine size that you can dump into enemy soldiers! I also think the GD7-F and Serpent VE92 are easy to use because even if you don't have good aim (meaning you struggle with getting consistent headshots) they still kill so darn quickly that it can even be difficult for veteran players to turn around and kill the poor newbie. :)
well the Promise is okay but im still for a 167dmg promise for all ranges. ^^
@MangaSuchtixD Fair enough! I guess I like the Promise because it's a nice refresher from the usual NC weapons, I guess. Lol
God damn it, here I am looking all my characters and weapons through twice, because I assumed you mentioned TR weapons on the TR video
@@pappapaps Sorry! The suggestions in the video are great! I also really like the TSAR-42 as it's a bolt-action rifle that doesn't have any sway
@@elijahduce5323 No worry friend! Yeah, I'll have to try at least one and see if it affects my kd
This is a good video even for old boys.
Thanks for info.
The weapons that carry me are the NS11 series and the Lynx for sheer RoF
I also miss the old tune
For nso the easiest to use imo are
xmg 100 - with campensator, laser and Hva.
Ar100 with HVA and laser
CB100 with grip
Cbx75 with laser and hva
What weapon do you currently recommend for each class? I currently use the NC.
NC, Shadow and cyclone. Need I say more? Lmg Anchor, GR-22, and lastly Jackhammer for your point and click adventure. Honorable mention Vanquisher because Duh and Promise, only because it teaches you how not to play...
That nade bounce at 2:05 though... xD what 1000+ hours looks like. Lol
FR🤣
Impact Ammo eliminates one of the drawbacks of running suppressor on TORQ, so you can easily justify it, making it even easier to use (positioning mattering slightly less). Too bad it makes the sound less satisfying, lol.
I’ve loved the watchman so much it’s gonna be my next aurax, almost done already
I just use the chain machine gun cuz i live that "RATATATATATATATTATAT" its like music to my ears
Are you going to release an NC version of this ? Would be great.
~
Thanks.
Since this series is targeting the new player community, wouldn’t it be better if attachment recommendations are also included?
I think a big reason for that is time is an issue. In-depth videos take a while for him to research cuz he's thorough and his time recently seems to be split on a few different games.
Torq-9 is my favorite weapon by far.
Mine is the Sabr but it's harder to use.
I personally think the af4 cyclone belongs for easy NC guns. Good hipfire at close range, good damage so you can use it as medium ranges and not be totally out ranged. Just gotta slap that extended mag on it
HC1 Cougar, my beloved
How do you get those lose rez tracer rounds?
Particle Affects?
VS - Terminus, Horizon, H-V45, NS15M1/2
I wouldn't recommend the Watchman. MSW-R and TMG 50 is very good and so is the t9 CARV as well as the MCG. The watchman since nerf has been.... weird. Take a lot of rounds to down an enemy and the bloom gets terrible fast. Decent at point blank sometimes but not always. the Magazine restriction and super long reload make it difficult to use sometimes.
AC-X11 is easy to use despite its low rate of fire. It just slaps so hard that body shots are completely acceptable.
Im just about 80 hours and I am doing really well with the saber 13
HC1 Cougar vs MG-C1 Kindred, which is better?
Most TR Lmg is a spray and pray trash. Yes, TR has good RMP aaaaand that is it. Accuracy and damage over range is pure trash, and you will be farmed By Vanu and NC constantly.
And to win most engagements YOU HAVE TO AIM TO THE HEAD (this statement can be applied to any weapon but for TR LMG is a must) which is very hard to do because of the problems i have mentioned before.
But TR has good AR's like TAR so.... but WAIT here there is GR-22 which almost the same thing as TAR, but recoil is a bit more aggressive.
If you still wanna play with some HI Rmp LMG you have Orion for Vanu (It's basically TR T9 Carv with less recoil, better Accuracy, no bullet drop close-midrange laser canon).
And for NC you have MGR-L1 Promise aka Laser Beam Canon with 700 rpm with no recoil (especially with Compensator and Forward Grip).
Yeah yeah, don't sell yourself short. TR weapons are very newb friendly. Promise and Nagi teach you how to shoot poorly...... IF you try the same method on other weapons. There was a reason why the gauss saw was taken off the starter lmg, TR weapons, if you miss one shot it is fine, not so with NC weapons.. Vanu.. are vanu.
Sucks for PS4/5 users. On console the interface is wack mid range is super hard making most players settle with good hipfire weapons. Your comment about the Tar and GR-22 is on point. The fact is console only has one active server for the whole world and only around 4% of players have the connection and performance advantages to even be considered good. These players often eat whole clips to the face and run circles seeming to headshot as quickly a bolt action sniper. This game will never actually be balanced until every faction gets actual copies of each others guns and most available guns are as easy to use as the MsWr. As a someone who just started to lead on Nc this pissed me off since It’s hard to tell Nc players “you will have to become better than the Tr at aiming, because our hipfire clones are inferior. “Good” players on this game on console have the worst habits and if you see their perspective it’s bad gameplay where they are actually moving and aiming worse than most but theirs bullets are attracted to hit boxes and their hitbox repels bullets.
Hate to break it to you mate, but the TR have some of the best weapons in the game. If you can't control the recoil and accuracy of them, then you may need to work on your shooting skills.
@@CAMIKAZE78Yeah. I can't control things which doesn't exist, sorry.
You’ll never improve with that mindset, meanwhile I’ll keep farming away on my TR character 🤷🏻♂️
I think they should rework the weapons that are exact copies of one another and make them slightly different to fit their faction counterparts in the near future. Imo
you know i have been trying some of the guns for the medic atleast and i got to say the AR really hits right but since im mostly always someone that stays with my team to push funny inof the APEX T1 Cycler or more say the T1 Cycler since apex is just a RESKIN of that gun that i like more got everything going for it
if you can control the recoil and sometimes use it in burst shots you can autgun any person mostly at medium to close range and got good hipfire atleast if you really need it as a TR MEDIC main i do say yes there better guns out there for that job but for the gun that you get instandly in your hand that can do 2 jobs in 1 already i think its so far the best MEDIC gun to learn with as well
but i wont lie i do like the idea of some of this guns that i never try and i do like to use them time to time just so i dont get to bored of the T1 Cycler all the time the only part i love the TORQ-9 so mutch is for the fastest reload like bloody hell the CYCLER is so good gun for all jobs but its reload is sooo bloody slow so its nice to spice stuff up a bit
I am a new player. I used MSWR, but now I play with Rhino. I do not know what it is about this weapon but I kill in a lot of 1v1 and my k/d improved to 0.5. Watchmen is not a good weapon for new players. I cant kill with it at all. Rhino kills way easier.
Though I adore the bullet hose of a weapon the cycler trv The NS-11A has got to be one of the easiest assault rifles in the game to use. just... *chefs kiss* Perfect. ^.^
im veteran in PS2.......and this video is awesome :)
How can you not include the baron, nighthawk, a pump shotty, or an autosniper?
What attachments are you running on the jaguar
What best for vs ?
Every loadout needs a pistol. You should at least mention burst (repeater/pilot) vs revolver (comish/underboss) vs single fire (emperor) from a beginners point of view. Great concept for a series.
Kind of sad that arguably the best pistols are all, multi faction. Faction pistols are soo sooo NSFW .
Better forget about anything that is not repeater (president), comi or Blackhand
How to you get the torqu 9 i do not see it for sale or the jaguar
I had to laugh at any TR gun "kicking like a rioded up mule" as an old NC main that learned to shoot with the Gauss Saw
if the tr gun kicks like a mule the nc gausssaw kicks like a wild friggin mustang
A weapon I think is just absolutely stupid is the trac shot, like Jesus slap a forward grip and a compensator on that beast and you got yourself an absolute of a laser beam carabine that stil has a superb hip fire accuracy. Sure you gotta grind for it but hell is it worth it imo
I struggle to find a better Carbine for TR LA period. The Jaguar has 0.75x movement multiplier, best-in-class hipfire for mid-air as well as access to short barrel unlike Kindred. Too bad it's so aesthetically boring. Still, it's ultimately a worse Bandit, but most weapons have superior NC alternatives lul. Also, I think Carv-S is great for beginners, and is objectively better than the Carv at longer ranges because of less horizontal tolerance. Still has higher DPS than Rhino/Bull etc.
Kindred is almost best carbine in game. Though TRAC Shot more funny to play with
@@provalivay Worse hipfire and no short barrel though which I think is a big deal for Light Assault
@@Isaxus12 kindred has a crazy headshot dps, so you have to use ADS most of the time
@@provalivay Kindred is better on medic than LA. Jaguar and Lynx fit the best with the LA playstyle.
Bull is significantly better at long range than the Carv-S because of the velocity and minimum damage. It's 4 headshots to kill at all ranges, and that's easy to do when you have a laser beam. Carv-S doesn't get those advantages that makes the Bull the best long range LMG in the game.
What, no Decimator or Engineer with grenade launcher?
You forgot the Dragoon, that DMR is incredibly easy.
Ive never been a sweaty trying to min max my KD or whatever so when I wanted some spiced variety I got the hailstorm and the amr that has an underbarell nade launcher. Other players told me this was a bad choice cuz those guns suck. But sucking or not sucking aren't my concern I wanted to try something new is all. I think this is something players in this game need to remember many of us don't give a shit like that nor do we watch as much anime hentai as you freaks. Many of us go outside sometimes :)
Bro... you know good players are just normal people, right? They aren't hentai watching basement dwelling urchins, they're usually just dudes like you and me except they move and position better, they think faster, and just shoot heads.
I felt the absence of SMGs! Great video tho!
Which smgs would you suggest?
@@maxrex280 its not specific to the TR but the NS-7 PDW is a absolute monster and super easy to control - and if we go into Empire specific the Jackal is the most "regular" (although it would be better to go straight for the Armistice)
People just do not like hipfiring so why bother recommending best hip fire weapons.
NC next please.
Cant wait to see Vanu weapons and all their heat op weapons (as long as you keep this video easy to use and not easy to obtain).
heat op weapons? Eh.
Bettle is worse than orion, darkstar is good but not good enough to be 'meta', eclipse is ignored in favour of other carbines.
@@addmen96 im talking about how easy and braindead designed they are, not about how strong or meta they are. Im not even bringing the LASHER into discussion as well 😅
man i dont understand how to get used to shooting ppl that arent red lettered in their name
How to increase viewfov with view model?
I thought the jaguar had no horizontal recoil?
No horizontal bias (recoil angle)
I search for tr best SHOTGUN but this video don't have any SHOTGUN
What ever
everytime I watch a youtuber play planetside they never have any lag, how is this possible
Easy weapons to use?
NSO guns, I am sure the new, inexperienced players would love to play with those, especially the ARs
M S W R
Where is repeater
cool
TR is the hardcore faction. Generally lower damage output than NC, and significantly worse recoil than VS making headshots harder.
I find TR guns mostly easier to get kills with than VS weapons because most VS guns are dog. The VS only have a few standouts that were blatantly overpowered for a long time, but have been reduced in effectiveness. Their faction traits are mostly trash.
0 image gear..weapon..? i speack spanish not english i need look image atachmens :/
shame k-cap ammo is useless.
