    Always learn so much from your guys videos. Coming from a bona fide amateur who at 28 is finally starting to demo and pre-pro his own bands, GGD and all of the free tools you guys offer have made such a difference for me. Cheers dudes

    Samples have been used on a million different good and bad sounding records. This was a great idea for the new expansion pack and a good video to showcase how to use them. cheers!

    I've been fighting that Yamaha bell brass in a mix for days. Man I wish Misha would show us what processing was on that snare bus, and what velocities he used for this song.

    Bought this and my mixes never sounded better. It’s scary tbh, idk if I have been using bad samples or if these are just easy mode lmao

      fixing sounds will not sound as good as good samples, you can only polish a turd so much.

    that looks like a better way than putting drive or short-strong reverb on kick sound to saturate it.

    I've been trying to emmulate his snare tone specifically from this video and copying all the settings into my VST, but can't get that same tone; I'm using the HIT midi as my main snare strike, but the RUFF midi sounds better ( I don't know the difference, guitar player learning to program drums ), and he doesn't use the reverb that's built in GGD and doesn't cover what he DOES use for it. Any help would be great!

    Great video but the title doesn't make sense. These are one shot samples, not triggers.
    Using triggers implies the use of an electronic drumset(that has built in triggers) or some other pad to "trigger" sounds from within the VST.

    • @kimseniorb
      @kimseniorb 5 лет назад +8

      Sorry but no. this technique is reffered to as triggering regardless of whether the context is live or studio. Top engineers refer to it as triggering or drum replacement/reinforcement, including Andy Sneap who popularized it in the 00s

    • @AtTheSourceStudios
      @AtTheSourceStudios 5 лет назад +1

      @@kimseniorb drum replacement/reinforcement sure. It might be technically triggering, I understand what's happening but regardless the title will most likely be misleading to 80-90% of the people who click on it. Just you know, assuming most people aren't "top engineers" or Andy Sneap.

    Did I miss something or did he not show how to make the trigger thing happen. I see lots about selecting things that work well together and absolutely nothing about how to set it up to be triggered from a track. So I don't get it and I'm not buying it. Shame, seems very cool.

    • @danray919
      @danray919 5 лет назад +2

      It's pretty much always there, unless you pull down the trigger fader. Source, I bought invasion.

    • @JimGramze
      @JimGramze 5 лет назад

      I think I misunderstood. Normally a Trigger is used in drum replacement, like there is a real recorded snare track and you don't like it so you replace that with a virtual drum instrument sound. That virtual sound is "triggered" by the original and is either replaced or blended in. The trigger here seems to be adding a sample to the virtual instrument instead of being used to replace or enhance a real recording. The terminology threw me.

    • @danray919
      @danray919 5 лет назад +2

      @@JimGramze I mean, it is being blended in to the "real" sound. But yeah, I see what you're saying.
