He cool but he used to hide his tricks and stuff, once he went crazy cuz stephen carpenter from deftones released his patches + cab's into axe-fx and steph told misha to chill cause nobody will be able to play like him(steph). V/R
I could never get my modern and massive sounding nearly as good as yours but after using smash and grab and watching Nollys masterclass it sounds better than ever!
Dude your videos are so unbelievably helpful! Thank you so much for the time you put in to teach everyone the years and years of knowledge you’ve obtained in a really introspective visual presentation. You da best misha!

Damn, after literally years of waiting for this video the funny thing is I actually just recently started being comfortable with my drum mixing. Well, still interesting to see what you're doing the same and what differently. Makes me want to get back to using GGD.
Hey Misha, I found out on RUclips that you love cheese fondue. I come from Switzerland and make one of the best fondues, believe me. Once you're in Switzerland, I'll invite you all to a real Swiss cheese fondue! You have my word. I have some secret tips that you will love. Cheese Tino :D
Melodicka Bros literally because it just sounded better, so rather than set it to full wet (which I wouldn’t need) I stopped it where it sounded good haha
Hey Misha.. You ara talking about Mixing into the a Master Bus.. Ist that Master Bus only for the drums? Or is it in genereal for the whole Project with all insruments and guitars?
Awesome vid, thank you Misha! I've tried to put all the same settings as you are (except for the master bus), used all the same plugins, but the sound is still not the same. For example: my eq on the kick drum doesn't show me the same impact and fatness even after compression, can't figure out what did I miss...
I can see that you didn't upgrade to Sennheiser HD820. The 800s is better for mixing and mastering? Would you recommend the HD820 or stay with the 800s?
Xiyu Yang There isn’t really a right or wrong way to do it, but certain eq moves might affect how the comp reacts if it’s before. Also I can keep the smash and grab beef and air in check with an eq after
@meesha Hey man, I'm just trying to grab your attention and see which of your drum programming vids you think offers the most comprehensive advice on the nuances of programming, but from the technical side. I'm sure others will weigh in here. I'm just looking for that natural nuance programming skill and how best to create that feel on most any plugin, meaning things like rolls etc. Anything you have out there (or anyone can suggest) so that I don't get that lame-ass machine gun/phasing BS in my snare rolls, and some super quick ways to ghost note. Much obliged, Meesha & fellow music community!
Hey Misha, I was trying out the group channels for my snares, toms, and rooms and whenever I activate the sends it gets significantly louder. Is there a way to have my group tracks play the sent channels without adding volume?
Basically this is how the sends work, it always plays back a 1:1 version of what you're sending. You have to use a plug or something with a "wet" mix and set it 100% so you only get the wet signal to blend with the original dry one.
So does it work for real drums? I get using midi drums for writing, but for example. When my band gets ready to record, midi drums get thrown out the window (no sample replacement or reinforcements used what so ever) and my drummer writes what he wants to write for drums.
Tyler Rosal Of course! Nolly did some videos showcasing that side, so I figured I would show how to get a mix going with programmed drums so we have both sides covered for smash and grab!
Misha Mansoor awesome, thanks for catching me up to date on this Mr. Bulbmeister! Family life sometimes catches me off guard and I miss awesome content ever now and again
Gitarrfreddan It’s not from a preset, but really the most important things are the fader and turbo levels, I click through the setup in the beginning so feel free to just copy those!
Sure, but then no one learns anything. It's better to educate so you can take this knowledge, develop your own sound and then maybe teach me something down the line haha.

This is great! I'd love to see a tutorial on crafting a guitar tone from scratch for recording, and what you apply to it when mixing.
Same
Bruhhh, go over that Master Bus track....
Tiers Audio I’d love that as well
Tiers Audio pretty sure it’s the same thing that Nolly does
it's basically :
any EQ will work
30Hz Low Cut while giving a little bit of bump about 1dB
110Hz Low Shelf +3dB
5.2-5.5KHz Wide (0.712-1) Bell Boost +3dB
10K Hi Shelf +2-3dB
3dB gain trim
Nolly liked to add more low & top end just a little more, so it's up to your taste.
*SSL style bus compressor*
4:1 Ratio
0.3ms Attack
100ms Release
(if your plugin has one) sidechain LPF 50-75Hz to let the kick breathe
aim for -4 -3dB everytime the snare hits
*additionally, Focusrite RED style bus compressor*
4:1 Ratio
Medium-Slow Attack
Fastest Release
50% Drive
40% Mix
aim for -5 to -3dB (adjust the makeup gain to taste)
Tape Machine (VTM or Anything, some may eat a lot of resources like IK Multimedia ones)
30IPS
456 Tape
FabFilter Pro-L
Gain adjust to your goshdarned listening environment... and your snare (they got pokey real quick)
Dynamic Mode
Fastest Lookahead
80-100ms Attack
180-200ms Release
Transient 60%
Release 100%
Thanks Misha. Very generous of your time and talents.
So, where is the full version of Breeze?
afaik it was never completely finished
😂😂
Can you link me the newer version of it? I know it's short but I'd love to hear it again and I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

My Nano Attack arrived today. Les Paul style custom guitar on neck pick up + Nano attack at max = Glorious.
Hey Misha new fan of Periphery here and I gotta see you know your stuff with production!
Thank you papa!
This is so helpful, sounds killer too
Hey Misha, great video. One question: at around 18:42 why did you leave some of the dry signal on the reverb bus? Isn't it in parallel?
Melodicka Bros literally because it just sounded better, so rather than set it to full wet (which I wouldn’t need) I stopped it where it sounded good haha
@@MishaMansoor hey Misha. Is there a video at all of you explaining how to get a decent tone through a DI/DECENT CHAIN?
Hey Misha.. You ara talking about Mixing into the a Master Bus.. Ist that Master Bus only for the drums? Or is it in genereal for the whole Project with all insruments and guitars?
Master bus will effect everything. See Nolly's class to see what to put on it.
Sick dude! Thanks for sharing this
What in the world is he using on those GUITARS? They sound massive.
Hell yeah! I've been waiting for this one haha.
I gotta put time into learning my way around GGD, great work man.

Excellent! Quick All Instruments Mix Video???????
Can you please make a video of your mix bus and how you mix guitar and bass?
So you only compress and eq the snare and kick as a whole? No sub kick or snare bottom? You just keep them in the same track and never output them?
I can see that you didn't upgrade to Sennheiser HD820. The 800s is better for mixing and mastering? Would you recommend the HD820 or stay with the 800s?
Amazing tutorial, but, what type of vst use in the guitars?
When is p4 available?!?!
Please keep making vids
Hey Misha can you do pleeeeaaasee a good invective mh demo. Thank you
Hi Bulb! Is there any particular reason why you use compression before EQ? I've been told I shouldn't do that.
