Same! I've been cutting my boys' hair since their first haircuts. Now that I have teens, I need more instructions like this! I'm so glad I found this video! Thank you!
I definitely appreciate the scissor work!! Keep it coming. I have been applying your technique when i cut and lord knows it has helped me out ALOT. We get all types of hair in our shop and i dont shy away from any of it. Im more confident when cutting straight hair because of you. Keep it up and keep it coming. Thank you 🙏🏽
My son doesn’t like anyone cutting his hair but me. I’ve taken him several places and he has gotten good haircuts but just isn’t a fan of the whole scene. This is the best guide I’ve come across to help me cut his hair the right way. Very thorough and thoughtful. You definitely have a new fan😊
Same with my son. He has a little anxiety about going to the barber or a stylist, and I have anxiety that I'm going to mess up when I cut his hair! I am so grateful to find this channel.
I personally love watching the shear work. Going onto 3 yrs barbering and i still manage to learn gems about how you teach shear work especially with the sectioning! Thanks sean!
Keep up the shear work, it’s helping immensely for me and I’m sure for others. There’s already 10 million fade videos. Too many barbers are scared of the shear work and that’s what takes being the best to another level.
Awesome cut and for me I need to learn and grow so whatever you learn heard or know I’m here for it all. Scissor work is not much talk and when it is I’m all eyes/ears and no mouth 😂😂 appreciate the knowledge my brother
Stoked! My 11-year-old has waist-length hair and we're cutting it off today! I cut his dad's hair all the time, so I can use clippers, but I needed a little guidance on how to keep the top long and blend it in. Feeling confident!
Love seeing the scissor work. I have been looking for more videos that show more of that. Seems like everybody just wanna show fades and whatnot. Seen enough of those to pretty much understand a basic system, but the scissor work is interesting because it takes a little more thought and work and gives a really NICE finished STYLE as opposed to same old fade that everyone gets/sees.
Thanks for this one! My 14 year old grandson likes this cut and I've been struggling with the the clipper work and the transition. I got my cosmetology license after 1500 hrs of education back in the '80s. We spent about a day and a half on clipper work. I didn't have the confidence to make it in the shop - I lasted about 2 weeks! 😂 Since then I've continued to cut my own hair and some family and friends, but always terrified of the clippers. Covid lockdown had me trying again as my husband likes a military cut and that means clippers! Anyway, I'm pretty confident with shears and believe it or not I learned point cutting and some other tricks back in the day, but I was struggling with this transition from long to short! You taught me a new approach and it really helped! Still struggling with the clippers but not giving up! Thanks for your videos - love all aspects and agree with the commenter about sharing your thoughts as you look at a client's headshape, hairlines, etc. All good stuff!
I like the way you do your sheer cuts. A lot of barbers on RUclips don’t break it down or show what they’re doing but once I found your channel I was hype. I say keep putting out the great videos
Keep putting out the scissor cuts! I’ve been cutting hair from home and starting an apprenticeship at the beginning of the year. I don’t have much experience in scissor cuts so definitely feel kind of anxious when doing any amount of scissor work. These videos help for sure!
Keep the scissor work coming. I’m a newbie and started doing it as a hobby. Like you said, there’s a ton of clippers and fade tutorials around so I appreciate learning this aspect as well. Thank you for teaching us your way 🙏🏼
This cut was insane Also been watching you for years now and your content is the best its been and your cuts have gone to another level your videos help and inspire me massively. I'm in a barber shop but still training to a high standard before fully being on the shop floor your videos have helped loads appreciate it.
I always enjoy your content. I know you asked for input in regards to whether or not we like content like this or if you need to make it easier to follow I.e step by step. Me personally I think you should just continue to grow as a content creator. If people come across your page and want to see remedial tutorials then they need to watch some of your older content you know? Most of the barbers who are watching your content enjoy watching the overall start to finish of the cut because we already understand the concept you know? Maybe even post a remedial chop on Tuesdays and straight up cuts on Thursday (just throwing out random dates) hopefully this came across genuine and not demanding. Love the work Sean 🔥
Keep it up the growth is real, love seeing the shear work, if your dedicated to learn to fade you’ll get it fs but the shear work on the other hand man soo many different ways to do it
At least I enjoy sheer work, have learned a lot from you and a couple more from the tomb squad, not everybody fades with the same technique, demonstrate different styles, for beginners, lever open, half guard and one,how to start the cut with clipper instead of trimmer, different tips how to erase the skin line,a few simple designs kids are in to that as well, different cut styles and hair textures, all the good stuff, pro barber tips others don’t share, love the channel, love you’re work, thanks a lot success and best of wishes, keep them coming 💪🏼
I've seen tapers/fades million times. I enjoy the scissors! I would appreciate a tutorial on how to set guidelines for different haircuts. Like, when should you have a mohawk guideline? When should guideline go from side to side, and then removing peaks and valleys along the mohawk. I'm a complete noob, and hobbyist 🤣
Just found this video and I was able to give my tween son the BEST haircut ever. He agreed that the extra time it took was WELL worth it in the end. One of my sons has blonde curly hair, and my other has blonde straight hair. Any tips on approaches to get a great cut by hair type would be helpful!
These contents are amazing man...Im not a professional barber ...But I do cut my family and my own hair and this do help me so so much ...Keep it up man we are loving it
I've got a group of six high school kids that come see me at one time once every couple of weeks that all get 2 3 fades with the long forward tops just like this and I always struggle to blend the long top into the clipper work. Definitely gonna try this.
Beautiful work! I’m definitely thinking that block graduation will be on our future cut list for my children. I was once licensed at the beginning of the 2009 recession but without a clientele I never got to practice in a salon. I cut my children’s hair but am hoping to advance my skill. I’d love to see cuts that do not include a bald fade.
I’m just a mom trying to figure out how to cut my son’s hair where he and I both like it (I can’t stand the long in the eyes look and sloppy in the back). I’ve always cut my boy’s hair very classic, but he’s been wanting yo style it different so your intro hit me just right 😂 I don’t have all the best tools (like that trimmer you use for behind the ear), but I do the best with what I have. Wish me luck!🍀
Do you blend the heaviest part between the scissor work and the #4 guard on the side of the head at all with thinning shears or the #4 blends seamlessly into the first guide you put in with shears? It looks pretty blended, but wasn't sure if it was edited out for length of video. Thanks Sean!
I try not to do anything to it. It should sit right on top where the clipper work ends. If it is too heavy you always have the option to go in and refine it however you feel comfortable
Ayo Mr. Sean, so I'm a self taught barber and been cutting for a couple years now. Still got plenty to learn and very willing to. You're definitely my favorite barber to watch and learn from. I'm 25 and I'm the Navy and just haven't had time yet to go to barber school and I feel so behind the curve man. Just feel like I'm missing out on the game ya know?? Wondering if you had any words of encouragement or anything
Man I didn’t go until I was 26 and wish I could have sooner. But things happen when they’re supposed to just do what you gotta do and get to it when you can and the rest will work out
Sean you are super dope at cutting hair. Keep the videos coming especially the scissor cuts. But to be honest I know the babyliss weren’t cheap to purchase. But the blends aren’t coming out as good as when you use the rebels. 💯
Can you explain block graduation? I see you doing it on almost every cut and it works wonders, I just don’t really understand it. I see a lot of other barbers just using clipper over comb instead
I would love a video about different patterns like a womens undercut patten I currently cut a women who has like love hearts but trying to learn more advance patterns and techniques Appreciate everything
I would love to see a fade down video, as many others i get lost between steps without guidelines... hope you can do that and explain how high/ low we should go with every step Thanks
Looks good man as always! You ever do any clipper over comb work? Something I want to learn more about in the barber industry. Not a lot of good videos that I could find on that.
@@Seancutshair thanks. Yeah, I go with, against, it just pushes it forward, almost like the teeth are too small for the hair to get into. If i push straight down on the hair, like setting in a line, it cuts sharp, if that makes sense.
This stay at home mom is confident in elevating to some professional skill! Just what I needed 🙌
Love it!
Same! I've been cutting my boys' hair since their first haircuts. Now that I have teens, I need more instructions like this! I'm so glad I found this video! Thank you!
I really like how you show how to do the whole haircut from beginning to end. That's what helps me personally. Thanks for the assist 😊
You are so welcome!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Awesome glad it helps!
Cant believe people dont appreciate shear work! Once you master shears the money and appreciation comes swiftly!
Absolutely!
Best! All the tutorials is what we want! The hairstyles/cuts without instruction is boring.. can see that anywhere!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Everything is perfect the way it is coming from someone who's still learning in barber school that shear work intro is too good 👍 👌
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My son doesn’t like anyone cutting his hair but me. I’ve taken him several places and he has gotten good haircuts but just isn’t a fan of the whole scene. This is the best guide I’ve come across to help me cut his hair the right way. Very thorough and thoughtful. You definitely have a new fan😊
Love to hear it!!!
Look at the bright side, your kid likes for you to cut his hair, some kids don’t want anything to do with the parents😂
Same with my son. He has a little anxiety about going to the barber or a stylist, and I have anxiety that I'm going to mess up when I cut his hair! I am so grateful to find this channel.
Same here my kids aren't comfortable in a salon so I do their hair got some skills through RUclips, they're always happy.
I'm in barber school and I watch your videos for shear and straight hair cuts... so, i appreciate the content and consistency 💯
Appreciate you watching!
I personally love watching the shear work. Going onto 3 yrs barbering and i still manage to learn gems about how you teach shear work especially with the sectioning! Thanks sean!

Thank you for showing how to start at the top and blend down. This made so much more sense to me!
I'm a stay at home mum who cuts my whole family of fives hair. It saves us so much money. Thanks to your videos, they don't look half bad ha!
Me too
It’s definitely helpful! As a cosmetologist transitioning into the barber industry there’s a lot to learn. This was very informative
Good to hear!
My son only likes the way I cut his hair but I don’t know what I’m doing! This video was super helpful!!!! New subscriber right here!
Keep up the shear work, it’s helping immensely for me and I’m sure for others. There’s already 10 million fade videos. Too many barbers are scared of the shear work and that’s what takes being the best to another level.
I’ll do what I can!
I love the advanced scissor work! You break it down really simplistic
Appreciate it 🙏🏼

Keep doing your videos how you’re doing them now, I personally enjoy the scissor work and you connect it to the sides
Will do!
Amazing job, the texture on the top is well done. I love how detailed you went into the scissor work. Trying this on my next cut!
I understand the way you explain in your videos, having the guards listed on the side rly helps a lot. Thank you bro !
Thank you!
I love when you bring shear word
I’ll like to learn more about it
Thanks for your videos

Thanks for the video! You know what the teenage boys want their haircut like, hopefully I can do this half as well!

great video. When I use my trimmers around the ears, it pushes the hair forward instead of cutting it, using the gold FX. any tips?
Have to go against the direction it’s laying. If the trimmers sharp enough it will cut in either direction
@@Seancutshair thanks. Yeah, I go with, against, it just pushes it forward, almost like the teeth are too small for the hair to get into. If i push straight down on the hair, like setting in a line, it cuts sharp, if that makes sense.
