Hey Guys, on this channel I talk about Gaming, RPGs CRPGs, ARPGs, Open World Games, Gaming News, and how the Triple A Gaming World is trying to steal your money, basically.
Baldur's gate 3 review
#baldursgate3 #bg3 #baldursgate3news
I would also like to see more character customization options btw.
Yea, I doubt the last line of dialogue before the credits is "throwaway." That seems seriously insane to think. Whether or not there will be more content, that line was written to imply that we will see these characters again.
You mention being unhappy with Karlach's story and while you are absolutely allowed to think that, I do think there is value in giving a character "no happy endings." Take Shadowheart, for example. Her endings after saving Nightsong are either quiet life with incurable chronic pain, or a life of adventure, at the cost of her parents. Neither of these endings is perfectly happy and giving her an alternative where she has to make no sacrifices would diminish her story greatly. Karlach is, in her good ending, fighting for survival in Avernus with either Tav, Wyll or both. The point is, she doesn't want to live on by any means necessary, but living with people you love is a good ending, even in Hell. While having the Gondians fix her up or whatever would be nothing short of what she deserves, it would override an ending that is much more thematically appropriate due to virtue of being "better."
sacrificing my first born son so Larian makes a custom campaign creator
This is such an amazing idea could you imagine the stories players make about this game already being transferred into custom playable content
There's potential, to be certain. Karlach describes a potential solution to her Infernal Engine at the epilogue, Astarion remarks on how he's not given up on walking in the sun, and the rest of the characters have been left open enough to return otherwise. It all seems set up conveniently for them all to return when a big enough threat emerges.
Lately, I have been convinced an expansion is on the way involving Cyric, given the missive with Withers at the epilogue party implying his insignia. He has direct connections to the Dead Three and Mystra, and is directly mentioned by the Strange Ox. He's the perfect candidate for an antagonist, big enough a threat to move on after the Absolute Crisis. I could see it fitting to increase the level cap to 20, have an act's worth of gathering our companions again/partly helping them wrap up some business, then moving on to get the ball rolling.
This is really interesting insight. The game also hints to the country of Amn a lot although you can never go there. It's one of the ending choices when Astarion asks you what you should do now that you've won and is a total dead end that makes you wonder why they even bring it up. Level 20 might be a little hard unless they change it a ton like they did with power word kill but they'd have to allow you to level up at least a few times for sure. At this point I'd just be happy to get any DLC and this seems like a good theory.
I think two DLCs that each raise the level cap by 4 (first 16 then 20) would be cool. It would be like giving the game two more acts.
@@therealjlil 20 is very unlikely. 16 would be great though. it's also a great stopping point for most campaigns
Maybe a dungeons mode. Would love the idea of making characters go through a trial of dungeons or endless ones with bosses from the story. The combat was good, and I bet people would love to test the power of muticlassing in a gamemode like that :D
Sadly, I don't think Larian can do that, due to WotC controlling the license.
they said they won't but that was years ago
I actually really like Karlach's Return to Avernus ending. Her heading back with Wyll....and possibly Tav....is actually her returning on her own terms, to both serve up some payback to Zariel and her minions, & possibly to find a more permanent solution to her engine.....a fact further confirmed by the Epilogue. In my own head canon, I also like to think that the House of Hope is a safe place Karlach can retreat to if things get too overwhelming for her.
The fact that she's left with hope for the future is huge. I wish that part had been in the game since the beginning since things seemed a little bleak for her before that point.
BG2: Tron of Bhal also made everyone blue balz with how the plot ended, and yet after 20 years there was no DLC
not to mention mama K is about to run a mission in hell! I WANNA HELP! I need Larian to give us that at least haha
I would absolutely love a DLC that allows you to fight with Karlach.
The only thing is, I feel like that ask is astronomical. Either it'd be partial to specific characters like Karlach which is unfair depending on what you chose during the game, or Larian dumps 10s of thousands of man hours to realize the consequences of all of the side characters and the choices you made with them depending on if you made them good or evil, if you romanced them, etc.
For example: if you romanced Astarion, you hunt bounties with thrall Asta or aid him as an ascendant vampire. If you romanced Wyll, adventure with him as a ranger or be the S/O to the duke of Baldur's gate. Aid Laezel in her fight against Vlaakith, side with Vlaakith in destroying the rebellion, or adventure with her if you chose the option for her to be free from fighting for the Gith cause. It's either fully encompassing in every situation and they all receive only a surface-level amount of detail, or the DLC is biased towards specific characters and choices that people made which would probably discourage people from coming back from the game if they didn't make them.
I think what's more realistic that a DLC is created that either adds to the game we already have or one that adds an entirely new enemy that the gang joins together once more for like Withers seems to be hinting at where your choices are hinted at but in a way that it isn't the sole content. Just like how most of the non-main character allies you made in the journey can join you for the netherbrain fight, maybe Wyll being duke could make you richer or allow you to call upon the fists. Astarion being ascendant could allow you to have thralls, werewolf companions, vamp artifacts, etc. or something. So like add-ons that make you feel that your choices affected the world but that aren't the sole focus of the DLC.
If it was a DLC expansion, you could have it take place before the final battle (and before you choose who becomes a squid). Just have a new (skippable) quest become available to go to Avernus, do a bunch of stuff and fix/replace Karlach's engine. Then, after the final boss, Karlach gets a new ending where she gets to stay and live. Otherwise, the original endings happen.
Yeah I think that would be cool. Larian has already added content specific to Karlach because of people sad with her ending already, so I suppose some amount of bias could be in the cards. Larian is very good when it comes to responding to fan criticism. One thing fans have talked a lot about is the upper city, which would probably be more realistic for a pre--netherbrain and destruction of the city dlc. However, if what Withers talking in the epilogue is actually hinting at more content, it feels more realistic that it'd be the characters joining up to fight another battle one last time after the Netherbrain @@wavion2
Please remember that Larian has /never/ created expanded content before
And that dozens of games end with a character saying "it's over... for now" and have never received further expansions or updates.
Also remember that Larian has already confirmed they are working on another non-baldur's project
yeah that's interesting to note as a caveat but BG3 is by FAR their biggest success and it's not like Valve where they've made a metric shit ton of games and never one that's been the third installment of the main series. The CEO of bg3 himself hasn't confirmed anything but he's also said that there are things they could explore when it comes to DLC. Dragon Age Inquisition is a game which had a similar epilogue scene to bg3 with no further DLC, but they didn't add it to the game as a tease after the game was a massive confirmed success. I think Game studios use epilogues like that as a way to keep things openended both from a narrative pov, but also for themselves in case the game is successful enough to make DLC for in case it blows up. So the fact that Wither's initial scene with the dead 3 is being expanded upon even more now in the epilogue camp reunion is justified cause to speculate into. That said, yeah, nothing is confirmed and it could just be that we end up with blue balls.
@rhomer6471 It is a really good point, other than DOS2 Larian's sales have always been poor up until BG3.
Larian's culture since Divinity 2: Developer's Cut is to rerelease the game with a bunch of updates that would amount to a small expansion pack, so there is undoubtedly going to be some more BG3 content (even if it is largely fixes and restored cut content)
It just feels like a stretch for them to release their first ever paid expansion on their only licensed game, part of a series that only got its first paid expansion recently with Siege of Dragonspear, especially when they are already dedicating their resources to a whole other non BG game
And never forget these guys are from Belgium - the home of anti-microtransaction legislation.
While a BG3 expansion would undoubtedly be worth the asking price, they might not necessarily feel good about it
Interesting. I didn't know that the anti-microtransaction thing was a Belgian thing at large. Some people in this section are talking about it potentially being a definitive edition instead, which could maybe circumvent it needing to technically be DLC and something Larian has more history doing. I actually didn't see the bottom of your comment regarding them working on a non-bg3 product. Maybe my hope is blinding me but yeah I just hope we get more content lol @@boblionia
I need the ability to bring my character into a friends game
I heard (somewhere) that Karlach had a more fleshed out ending but it was cut with the upper city content of Baldur’s Gate. I’m hoping they re-add this content as more Act 3 stuff would be great!
It feels like every characters story is properly wrapped up except for karlach and minthara (jaheira is a legacy character)
I’d definitely like Saving Private Kaerlach, particularly since we get a strong hint that the upgraded engine is out there and Wyll & Karlach ar planning to go for it. That would end with an actual battle with Zariel (because of course it’s a trap). I’d also like to help Lae’zel follow up on her hints, forming an alliance with the Githzerai against Vlakith.
Longer term I really want Larian to get the rights to Icewind Dale 3 or Planescape 2.
That would be awesome!
Planescape 2 would be one hell of a beast to tackle. I reckon Obsidian might be a more accurate fit considering how their track record with weaving more philosophical patterns into their games, though them and their community also seem content with their own IPs
I would be pleasantly surprised if Larian could pull something like this off, but it's also difficult to put it past them after BG3 (if it was a suggestion right after Divinity Original Sin 2 it would have been harder to sell the idea IMO). I think their writing with Minthara is proof that they have that kind of potential. Gortash and Karlach too, although the former still has that "act 3 rushed" feel for now.
True
I really do like obsidian but I wasn't really a fan of outer worlds
If DOS1 & DOS2 are anything to go by, I reckon we can expect a free Definitive Edition before the end of 2024. My guess-& biggest hope-is that it will expand the Act 3 map out to the Upper City, & possibly also the Lower City beyond the Steel Watch Foundry (I am also hoping they'll expand the Rivington map as well), I also suspect they will boost the level cap too.
Oh wow I never even heard of that
@@GeneralRubicon Yep, despite how good they were at launch, both DOS1 & DOS2 had a number of issues at launch-especially in their third acts-so for each game, Larian would spend another 12 months improving each game, based on player feedback, then released a free Definitive Edition for both games a year after launch, with a lot of additional content added. If they did that with their less profitable titles, then I feel sure they'll do it for BG3. Also, we know from Data Miners that the assets for the whole of Baldur's Gate exist within the game, but were cut at some point prior to launch for technical and/or narrative reasons. So I wouldn't be surprised to see these areas added back in at some point.....even if it will make Act 3 even more MASSIVE.
You're sort of half correct. The definitive editions added very very little actual new content they were almost entirely fixes, restoring content and adding some stuff that was originally cut - nothing even close to the scale of content people are suggesting for BG3, barely even the level of content you're suggesting they would put into BG3.
The definitive edition is way more likely than Larian suddenly making their first ever DLC, but expecting significant amounts of restored content like the rest of the city is really optimistic.
Much more likely is another 6-12 months worth of the patches we've been recieving. Big patches but not much actual new gameplay content
They can't increase the level cap because spells are too powerful it would take years to fix everything to work with those spells. Remember a game can't make stuff up on the fly like a DM
I'm literally playing it right now wile listening lol
I’m hoping y’all know that if you romance karlach you have the option to go and fight with her in avernus after the ending and y’all are meaning like y’all want another act
Imagine if they added a custom campaign creator with modular functionality so people could create their own dungeons and wilderness areas. I think neverwinter nights did something similar. How cool would it be to create your own little mini adventures though. You could make them all yourself or you could go on the steam workshop and search for a specific room type, download it, and put it into your dungeon or whatever. Would be a golden age inducing feature.
Woah. That would be awesome. It would be cool if you could play on other people's campaigns as well. I'd imagine they wouldn't be voiced, though
New game plus. I would LOVE to go back through Act 1 at lvl12. Imagine that Spider fight or the gnolls all scaled up
Karlach has a big ending when you romance her that I thought was very concllusive imo. (BIG SPOILERS)
You, Wyll, and Karlach can go down to Avernus, fighting against devils and making their way to find a way to cure Karlach :D At the end they hint to a possible solution in the form of a blueprint that will help Karlach get out of hell and live there!!
My Ideal 1st DLC is
Artificer - Alchemist, Armourer, Artillery and Battle Smith - The Mod shows how fun it would have been - Plus could do with another Intelligence Caster
I know it's a bit of an ask as there are already a lot but I would have liked a few more subclasses
Cleric - Twilight Domain, Order Domain (Psychic Damage) and Death Domain (Necro Damage)
Warlock - Hexblade
Wizard - Bladeslinger and War Magic
Rogue - Swashbuckler
Paladin - Oath of Conquest
Monk - Way on the Kensai
Bard - College of Glamour
Sorcerer - Divine Soul
Barbarian - Zealot
Druid - Circle of Stars
Fighter - Echo Knight AND Rune Knight
Ranger - Horizon Walker
And the DLC would be make Alfira a companion so we have a cannon Bard companion BUT DURGE STILL can kill her which makes it all the more hurtful what your character does to her and maybe the Absolute told the Gnolls to kill the teacher for some reason we don't know yet and she so happened to get in the way.
2nd DLC would be a follow on to the Story in Avernus like a Sort of Act 4 and increasing the Level Cap to 16? And ads in a NG+ so that playing from the Beach has many new challenges and tough enemies because your party will be tougher
Third DLC a Playable Kethric and Minthara Origin Prequel with her getting an Origin and allowing another way to recruit her before Moonrise if you pass a DC check and Kill the Grove.
They would give us blue balls, though not intentionally. Larian simply doesn't do DLC. They don't believe in it. DLC always means held-back content because with the way game development processes work, you can't start working on a DLC AFTER your main game releases. That's too late. Unless you want that DLC to release 2-3 years later. And even then it might be rushed. So if there is DLC it must be near finished and would have been already far along in development when BG3 released. That would qualify as held-back content for Larian. Larian believes in bringing a complete product to market. And so a DLC is just extremely unlikely. People have said BG3's success might have changed their stance (no evidence of that). But I think it would strengthen their resolve to get another new game out ASAP. We know from Swen's tweet that the first act of the next game is already finished (in terms of story and a sort of internal build). That game is DoS3. I'd say we're looking at DoS3 early-access coming soon, no more than 2 years away. I do think Larian will bring us a definitive edition for BG3 around its 1 year anniversary.
This game is far from complite act 3 buggy and rushed + patch 6 bugz like bro i dont get why ppl prise this game so much
Would like to see a return of Larian's GM Mode system that they introduced in Divinity 2. Would be unbelievably good in BG3
That would be so good.
The next Larian game wont probably be a DnD one. Besides, I think they didn't intend to make an expansion, but looking at the astonishing success of BG3, I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their mind. This game is a money maker at this point.
If they decide to make an expansion, I would focus on including the upper city, Avernus and maybe expanding on the Vlaakith vs Orpheous plot.
Its too late for upper city but not for Avernus and Vlakit or just trow us in difrent region of the world .
But to be honest the yneed to fix goddamn bugz first i play todays update and a lot of dialog options was broken
@@RUclipsChillZone
Yeah, they seem struggling with bugs, every patch bring in something new.
Besides, maybe it's not too late for the Upper City, they added a lot of things in D:OS2 in the definitive edition. I didn't lost hope yet.
I’d like a githyanki dlc. Get to play on that side or even how Orpheus was as a prince and a ruler. I don’t wanna be the one to spoil anything but I think we should get more details about that githyanki gang.
That's the race I always play as in real dnd. Space pirates are awesome.
I hope they add more races and classes I know it won’t be added but I REALLY want to make a centaur because the lack of video games with centaurs as a playable option upsets me and I KNOW for a fact dnd has a centaur race and it would just be the best ever but again it probably won’t happen due to like coding and modeling problems
Good video, i just really had to move on from this game. As great as it is there is such thing as too much of a good thing. I will certainly be jumping back in eventually though
Couldn't agree more
Much like Cyberpunk 2077, I keep trying to move on from the game, but it just keeps dragging me back in 😉
@@TheMarcHicks that's so true lmao
@@TheMarcHicks the bad taste of cyberpunk’s initial release never left my mouth. I have a hard time praising it even now. Plus the gameplay feels so formulaic, not to say it isn’t beautiful
Out of anywhere to place throw away dialogue, its certainly not the ending
That's just what I saw some people say on reddit
@lRubicon i wasnt trying to be rude or anything, just saying what i thought
@brendolbreadwar2671 I didn't think you were being rude at all my man.
Hopefully they focus on bugs cos this game is full of em and it's sad AF.
It's funny because I've had very very few bugs on my playthroughs. I've had one in the mind flayer dungeon at the end of act 2 and then the minthara stuff. Are you on console?
@@GeneralRubicon yes I am and it's horribly ported.
@@PxNxWxGxW Sorry to hear that. I hope they fix it more as they go.
Patch 6 ruined the game. Constantly freezing, load times are horrible. Vendors don't have money....

More playable Races. Please...
What races would you like to see?
I am not sure. For example, in Skyrim Bethesda hinted at a DLC about war against the High Elves but that never happened.
But there's a huge difference between Bethesdas follow through and Larians.
@@GeneralRubicon Larian's follow throughs rarely happen. divinity os 2 had two. one was a game that got cancelled and another was a reference to bg3
so they might be hinting at their next game not DLC
Can't see how you can be a dnd fan and actually like bg3. It is beyond trash. Same story over and over for each character is good? Last update they cared more about kissing scenes than gameplay. Not buying anything from larian again.
We found a 4E andy here
Man wtf is wrong with you?
One thing is saying you dont like something, another is to call it trash.
Nobody cares what you think grow up.
i would love new game plus that you have every spells that you have and player levels
