- When it comes to debate about which era is the best, opinions may vary but popular eras like the powerhouse and CN city era would not exist without Cartoon Network's very first era, The Checkerboard Era. What made this Era so special? What shows were acquired that gave CN its reputation?

Great video! I'm an animating director that worked on CN bumps, shorts, and shows in Atlanta from the start through the Powerhouse era, and beyond. I love the way you've presented this video. Excellent analysis of the first era. I've been posting my work from CN, and many other areas of animated media up to now on my channel. New sub, I look forward to watching more of your shows!
I was fortunate enough to experience it getting CN roughly around 1994. The variety and creativity to this day remains unmatched. Very zany and experimental. What they had they used well.
The years of 2000-2010 were basically by far the best eras for many cartoon shows of Cartoon Network rising regarding their peakness and popularity as we grew up with them during our nostalgic childhood memories that marked our nostalgia back in the good old days.
Love the Checkerboard Era because I was born in the beginning of 2000s (year of 27th april 2000) because I grew up with these wonderful memorable to iconic jams of masterpiece cartoon shows from Cartoon Network that marked our nostalgic childhood memories that we grew up with them during the road trip memories of good old days of golden times.
Like a lot of kids growing up at the time, I didn't really start watching Cartoon Network until 1994 when it started getting carried more - so I have literally never seen The Moxie Show in any form until today in this video. The thing I remember most about this era are lots of Loony Toons and Scooby-Doo (including the Loony Toons parody of Pod People and Scooby-Doo parody of Blair Witch), the Super Chunk marathon blocks, and of course The Cartoon Network Thing To Do.
That being said, I still definitely remember this era as being the one that came just before What A Cartoon took off - and how big a deal the network made it that they were doing all-new shows for their network (even advertising that 'winners' of What A Cartoon would be made into full cartoon series for the network).
[After finishing the video]
Oh...okay yeah I did watch during that era - thought it ended earlier than it did. Yeah, this was a really good era for cartoons.
I started watching cartoon network since October 15 1992 and loved it all the way until 2008.
I was born in the mid-90s, so I didn't get to experience this era all that much, but I can definitely understand the groundwork it layer for the network as a whole.
2000s greatest and memorable cartoon show jams of Cartoon Network that ruled and ran the golden to iconic eras will always have a special place in everyone hearts for nostalgic childhood memories that we grew up with them are:
- Ed Edd N Eddy, Samurai Jack, Codename Kids Next Door, Teen Titans, The Grims Adventure Of Billy and Mandy, Xiaolin Showdown, Hi Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Mega XLR, Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, 16Teen, Robotboy, Camp Lazlo, Classic Ben 10, My Gym's Partner Is A Monkey, The Life And Times Of Juniper Lee, Class of 3000, The Squirell Boy, Chowder, Flapjack, Total Drama Island, Secrets Sathurdays, Batman The Brave And The Bold, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien & Alien Force and Johnny Test.
Very nice and detailed explanation of this era. Appreciate the work! Old Cartoon Network was the best growing up.
This was my favorite era, 1995-1997 especially.
Dexter's laboratory ruled. My mind got partly erased in 1998-2000 (Motor smash/coma) and I love these eras of both channels. Them I entered a programmed entertainment dead zone until I started on You Tube c2015. Don't drink & drive kids, or take a ride with a drunk.
This is real shit. Great video man 👌
I have a vague memory of the checkerboard era but I can remember the powerhouse era (the one I like the most) with ease. Wasn’t until the late 2000s early 2010s that I stopped caring about Cartoon Network
Ooooo just you wait😉

Please can you upload next time some other video reviews about other eras of cartoon shows from Cartoon Network like the summer, fall, noods, check it, dimensional, redraw your world, mashup and pastel eras next time please.
As someone who was already in their early teens when CN came into being, I can verify, it was not bad, but yeah, I cant think of a show from the earliest era I had not already seen on various other networks growing up. Old cartoons were cheap to get the rights to air.
