    You know, Cartoon Network never acknowledged their shows were for kids, just animation lovers

    Cartoon Network is pathetic these days I grew up in the 90s and 2000s and saw everything that made the channel so great but I gave up on it after Teen Titans Go showed up. They need to make a new separate channel called Cartoon Network Classics where they bring back all the old shows bumpers and marathons that made CN iconic.

      Cartoon Network died for me by the time the Fall of 07 era started. I'd just started 7th grade by that point, and I felt like it wasn't appealing to me anymore. I felt like it was appealing to a different generation of kids by that point, and even more so by the time I turned 13 later that year

    Yo thank you so much for the video! I was born in 97 so that era of cartonnetwork was a blur for me. I remember cartoon fridays with the Tommy, but the stuff before and after it were a blur; so seeing all these old bumpers gave me so much nostalgia. This was so cool and a magical time in my childhood!

    Cartoon Cartoon Fridays would be a fun time for me: no school on Saturdays, stay up until midnight with the TV on out in the living room, and sleep on the couch as well. After CN dropped Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, that's when I switched to watching WWE Friday Night Smackdown to fill up that void.
    Now they both went completely went downhill.

    Cartoon Planet deserved to have reruns of Space Ghost Coast to Coast honestly. It always felt a bit weird that it didn't, especially since SGC2C acted as the perfect buffer between kid friendly CN shows and Adult Swim shows. Not to mention the fact two of its characters hosted the block itself??

  • @GroverKent
    @GroverKent Год назад +2

    Actually, Cartoon Cartoon Friday's genesis precedes 1999, it's just in 1999 when it was given the personality that we old school CN fans know and love it for. CCF has been a thing for as long as Cartoon Cartoons have been a thing in 1997. Basically, up until 1999, CCF was merely the night in which the new episodes of Cartoon Cartoons from that week would be repeated for those who missed seeing them during the week (and then again the following Saturday morning). In 1997 for example, new episodes of Johnny Bravo aired on Monday nights, new episodes of Cow and Chicken on Tuesday nights, new episodes of Dexter's Lab on Wednesay nights, and Thursdays were for the What A Cartoon! show; come Friday night, all of those new episodes from the previous week would be aired again, and that's basically the early pre-1999 CCF in a nutshell.

    Was it just me or did the opening have different characters saying “cartoon cartoon” every week? I’ve been watching Steven Universe for a while now and the Cartoon Network logo at they end keeps making me think that phrase belongs there. Or am I just misremembering?

    Another good video. I also make videos where I gush about Cartoon Network. It's my favourite topic to talk about. I grew up with it in the late 90s and early 2000s with UK Cartoon Network. It's weird, I remember seeing those Cartoon Cartoons bumpers where a character comes out of one of the letters and says "Cartoon Cartoons", but I don't remember CCF. I remembering messaging the Cartoon Network RUclips channel in 2007 I think, back when you could actually send messages to other channels, and they told me we didn't have CCF in the UK... Then, a few years ago, I checked my VHS collection, and I see commercials for "Cartoon Cartoon Summers" and "Cartoon Cartoon Weeknights", so if what they told me was right, we had the Cartoon Cartoons brand over here, but not specifically CCF...

    I will admit, the late 2000s weren't a gracious period for the 5th day of the week, maybe because I was mostly trying to watch Adult Swim in Middle school or it was that odd time when CN had this idea people wanted live action shows. Though I wish I gave Chowder a chance!

    I only remember watching Cartoon Fridays up until 2002-2003 I think. I lost interest in watching Cartoon Network full time around 2004-2005. It just seemed to go downhill for me. Had to appeal to a new generation of kids I guess. I was a growing teenager at that time, so I guess it made sense lol

    I really didn't know about CCF until much later. I don't recall ever having Cartoon Network back when I was a kid in the 90s. There's no telling how I would've felt back then had I seen even 1 ad for a TV show from that channel. I've seen several CN shows as an adult (8 in fact, but only 3 were ones I ended up wanting to rewatch later, 2 of which being from the 90s.
