I had a matte finish on my Lg monitor. I loved it but the text fringing annoyed me for productivity. The 4k ones are much better. Semi glossy isn’t bad but the W-OLEDs by Lg are brighter and have more color contrast which is what makes OLeD so different although the QD-OLEDs are reportedly more color accurate. You can’t go wrong with either. The matte finish is not noticeable in gameplay only in direct lighting for productivity really.
I love mat screen.

got the 45in oled last year. Still love it. Though if this was available last year, i probably would have gotten it instead.

Yep, much better than plastic glossy on QD OLEDS which have terrible black levels in anything but a completely dark room, defeating the purpose of OLED. The best part? No micro scratching from simple cleaning.

@@OC.TINYYY the coating is not what impacts the black levels. it's the way the QD-OLED works. even if it had matte finish, it should be the same but more blurry. the new WOLED panels with matte finish like this LG look way less sharp than a glossy finish. Glossy always looks sharper, when I compare my 27" 1440p QD-OLED with a 27" 4K IPS for fullscreen videos/images (not text), then it's almost as sharp looking because my 4K panel is matte, so it makes it much more soft than it should be.

nope, just 4k/240Hz and 1080p/480Hz. There are 2k/360Hz OLEDs just released though if that's your resolution.

Matte is better in a well lit environment. But if you're in a really dark spot, then go glossy

@@yp5387 Multiple options would be best. I think Lg is just doing matte WOLEDs, while most others are doing glossy QD-OLEDs. Not sure why this is, but more variety would be nice, plus should bring prices down further

Design is phenomenal and software is rock solid on lg so there is not much you need to do in order to dominate the market.
If this had a glossy screen instead of a matte screen I would have bought this. These are gaming monitors not office monitors get rid of the crappy matte coatings! They ruin the oled

I agree ! even at office nobody likes that matte coding they have. I'm using an apple studio display with glossy panel and it is so good.
@@20puskinas1992 I've worked at home since covid but we had 5k iMacs in the entire office and not once did anyone complain about reflections.

Please make one with a glossy, not mat finish. Whoever can afford these monitors will also have a way of controlling the lights and blinds in the room. Colors, contrast and immersion would be so much better than with a mat finish.
Mat never reduced the problems of reflections. It only spread them over a wider area of the monitor.

Tell me about it. For a big TV I like it matt because I cannot shift my head an inch to avoid the glare. But for a monitor, where I can tilt my head a couple degree to avoid glare, glossy all the way. Sadly.. most manufacturers got it the other way.

Glossy please. Use your C/G series tv coating. I use the 42" C2 as a monitor and it looks amazing but do wish it was 240hz and smaller.
Anyone using QD-OLED's glossy coating to compare matte vs glossy doesn't know what their talking about. QD-OLEDs ambient light handling due to lack of polarizer ruins its contrast.

Looks good. But, is it glossy? If you ask a professional gamer who plays in a studio with a lot of bright lights, they will prefer matt. But, they don't pay for your monitors. The average consumers who pay for it prefer it glossy for the mostly. So, be smart LG and listen to the consumers, not experts.
