    My mother died from a heart attack 2 days after her second injection. She reported feeling ‘weird’ after the 1st injection the previous month. Not worth the risk taking this drug!

    Thank you, Dr. Brown, THIS was just what I needed to understand the pros and cons of this Rx that's been suggested to me, but to which I have great skepticism & reluctance in which to comply! You established & emphasized the MAIN POINT of this whole thing: to prevent fractures! I am really clearer as I think this through & I'm very grateful!❤

      After a hip fracture, 1 in 5 people die in the following year. Mortality is high enough to consider decreasing risk of fractures.

    Thanks for the info. After 2 years on Ralixifene( with no side effects) I’m trying Tymlos for the purpose of having a fractured spine surgery. I need to build bone during that event. I plan to go back after that to Raloxifene to “ hold down the fort”. As my doctor says. I may not be able to tolerate these drugs for very long? But I will quit when the side effects start. I’m not totally osteopath yet. So I’m in prolonging stage. 👍

    Still with the jaw necrosis. This whole bone drug business is a pathetic joke.

    Yes, the absolute risk is very low, because people with osteoporosis are not constantly fracturing every single year. BUT, if you are at very high risk for fracture, and you WOULD BE one of those that DID fracture that year, then a 73% risk reduction is wonderful.

    Hi Great info.
    How did you come up with this figure: "Out of 100 people tested, 1.3 vert. fractures were prevented."
    I tried to come up with that figure using the data from the study, but I could not.

      you can find much of this data in the following article www.amjmed.com/article/S0002-9343(24)00101-3/fulltext

    Is it safe or no dr

    • @DrSusanBrown
      @DrSusanBrown  5 лет назад +8

      Hi Fatma, as you will see Dr. Brown explain in this video, the drug has been shown to build bone but hasn't been shown to reduce fracture which is what we care about. It has a Black Box warning due to its increased risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death. Dr. Brown does not believe it is safe/worthwhile due to the risks and lack of evidence on fracture reduction.

    I trued Forteo and quit after 2 weeks. It caused bone, joint and muscle pain and headaches. I hope there are no bad lo g term effects from this. I am going to take Garden of Life's grow bone product with all natural ingredients

    • @DrSusanBrown
      @DrSusanBrown  5 лет назад

      Hi Rosanne, that's great that you are starting on Garden of Life's grow bone product. It is never too late to start on a natural bone health program. Most bone drugs are neither safe nor sustainable, whereas a natural program is a safe, and life-supporting way to build both bone strength and total body health.
      It is important that you not only supplement your bones with vitamins and minerals, but pay attention to other key areas. Dr. Brown's Better Bones, Better Body® program includes Assessing Your Bone Health Status (finding underlying, hidden causes of your bone loss), Eating an Alkaline Diet, Enhancing Digestion, Nutritional Supplementation, Exercise and Stress Reduction. You can learn more about her program here: www.betterbones.com/learn-more/. Her blog, www.betterbones.com is a great resource to learn more about all of these key bone health areas as well as our RUclips channel which has many educational videos on these topics.

      I tried Tymlos yesterday. I was very hopeful it would help me. It was my first injection. I had five hours of skin burning, sharp stabbing alternating muscle and joint pain muscle twitching, frequent urination, dry mouth and to top all that off my heart was racing, I felt like I had a severe body flu! Tymlos shouldn’t even be on the market! I’ve had three vertebrae fractures in two years! I’m looking for better ways to manage my severe osteoporosis.

    Garden of Life grow bone contains strontium. I think it is strontium citrate. Do you have opinions on strontium
