    Great Video Reuben it has given me much food for thought. I am just starting out sup boarding. This video has given me some great ideas for more activities on the waterways near me

    The paddle leash thing is great. I tend to use the excess bungie from the tie downs front and back and tie a bowline in to each one. Never failed. Just a thought if you forget to take one.

    Nice one! I love both SUPing and fishing you've inspired me to go for it!
    Appreciate the tips on solid vs inflatable.
    I have a wide 9'5 surf-shape hard board so it can create a loud hull-slap noise.
    Rather than buying another board I am going to experiment to see if there is anything I can do to minimise the noise. I may try for example, pulling an old fleece or T shirt down around the nose of the board. Worth a try!
    Cheers,
    Geoff

      Nothing sounds daft when it comes to fishing. I would go out and try it first see how noisy it is and if you catch anything. The towel idea would work but slow you down quite a bit and be hard to paddle. A very small 5mm thick 10'x10' sheet of foam stuck on the bottom of your board just up at the nose where the water hits would work too. Just don't loose it. Tight lines Reuben

      Hey Sam. Will do for sure. I spent a few years in NZ and that was where I first SUP fished 'back in the day' ! OMG you have some good fishing there. A Kahawai was the first fish ever landed. Get yourself a kingfish and you’re set to go water skiing! Have fun Reuben

    Hi Reuben, gread vid as always. Just bought a Red 10'8 sup and really want to get out and do some fishing on it. Only thing is i don't fancy my nice new board smelling of fish. Do you find its an issue? Or do you have separate boards? Thanks

    • @brucepatrick2380
      @brucepatrick2380 4 года назад

      Good point Sam. I am not sure but I think if you clean you sup down after every fishing adventure. I am guessing the smell won't be a problem

    Hi Ruben, great video and information, any solution for a Sup with no fixing points on top of the sup I have a solid board, but no cleats to tie down any crate etc. Is there any solution to this problem?

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 года назад

      You can use a good contact adhesive to stick new attachments down on inflatables SUPs and hard SUPs. Thanks Reuben

    awesome video, what would your top choice be for an Isup for fishing and day touring? I was thinking a Bluefin Carbon Cruise 12, would your recommend the Red Paddle board over that? if you like handline fishing you should check out tenkara rods, lots of funf and telescope down to a very compact size.

    • @SUPboardermag
      @SUPboardermag  3 года назад +1

      Hey DJ. Thanks for the rod Recommendation I will check them out.
      Both the boards will work well for Sup fishing but if I could afford it I would go for a Red Paddle over a bluefin just because it's much lighter and it will be easier to carry down to my fishing location with all my gear. Thanks Reuben

    Trolling is not the most popular sup fishing method.
