This movie is freaking awesome! The first Aquaman live action definitely took inspiration from this movie. I hope James Gunn does the same for the new films!
No, the live action took inspiration from the comics, which handled Orm better. Instead of having Orm as a generic badguy, the comics and film had him as a more nuisanced character who genuinely had good intentions. Especially in the comics, where he was legit tricked into starting a war.
@@justinramos2513 Coy is one of those DC fans who only read the 80s/90s comics, then skipped New 52 and went to Rebirth. New 52 is underrated, it did so many awesome things, especially for Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
@@matthewjutzen424 the new 52 isn’t good it almost made dc comics go bankrupt the 80s and 90s were the best and rebirth saved the company, i understand if the new 52 were the comics you started with and you have an emotional attachment to them but overall they weren’t good for comic books as a hole they sent comics book back decades and made people think dc comic books were only made for edgy emo teenage boys and not the great platform that they actually are and if you don’t believe me dc comics during the new 52 had a infamous contest for artists to draw Harley Quinn (one of their top female characters) committing suicide in a bathtub naked just for the “shock” factor.
I prefer Rosario as Diana. The timbre of her voice just fits for me. I dig Jason O Mara as Batsy as well. Can't wait for u guys to get further into the DCAU and see the connections and more characters and great stories.
I remember the backlash against Jason as Batman, some people thought he sounded too monotone and boring, which is a nicer of saying "completely wrong for the role". I never personally minded it tho. I will admit as the movies went on, he got better at voicing Batman, especially in Justice League Dark with the dry one liners.
How can you miss something as amazing as these movies? These were the movies I watched Friday and Saturday nights at 8 or 9pm when I was in middle and high school. It was so fun.
I've been watching these since they started the Animated movies back in 2007. It was a transition point from the DC TV universe to feature length animated movies. One thing which DC does better than Marvel is Animation and I love that they have their own Animated universe which now Gunn plans to integrate with live action.
I get so excited every time you guys continue this series! I guarantee by the time you get to the end of the final movie you'll be in love with this series. Batman vs Robin is next!

Out of all the New 52 animated movies the only once I genuinely loved were Justice League Dark and Constantine City of Demons. I'm just a sucker for Matt Ryan as John Constantine. Every time he speaks it's as if the character jumped from the pages.
The DCAMU includes: Flashpoint Paradox (it’s confusing now, but you’ll see how later), JL: War, Son of Batman, JL: Throne of Atlantis (plus a short: “Nightwing & Robin”), Batman v. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood, JL v. Teen Titans, JL Dark, Teen Titans: Judas Contract, Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, Death of Superman, Constantine: City of Demons, Reign of the Supermen, Batman: Hush, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, and JLD: Apokalips War. The ONLY reason anything else is tied in is because of Flashpoint’s multiverse logic. These are the movies in THIS specific series, anything before or afterwards is a different continuity with different actors, animation styles. Under the Red Hood was entirely standalone, and the current “Tomorrowverse” series, (which includes Long Halloween) is basically the movie equivalent of DC Rebirth).
The fights in this movie are fantastic. My problem with this movie is it doesn’t feel like they develop the Justice League as a team enough they just kind of get thrown together again. Also Orm seemed way too OP even with the trident only the untrained Aquaman stood a chance against him. Feel like WW & Shazam should’ve been able to do real damage
Really not a fan of this movie. I find it quite boring and they completely butchered Ocean Master and overall I don't think it's a very good adaptation of Throne of Atlantis.
Supes and Flash are two of the most OP superheroes in my opinion. Yet they get their asses whooped. I find that hilarious. They can single handedly finish off anyone (except Darksied)
Always bothers me. They’re both literally too fast to lay a finger on or hit with a blaster. Writers should figure out creative ways for them to be OP & cool rather than uncreative ways for them to get knocked out of commission or captured
I'm currently on the justice league Teen titans judas contract. Really enjoying these films. And to see the chronological order I just looked it up on Google. But there are tons of elseworld films in the DCAMU too. I plan to watch them all but I'm watching the connected universe ones first. I noticed your last reaction was an elseworld Arkham film. Sam Witwer (Orm/Ocean Master) has actually done quite bit of voice acting work. He's the voice of Darth Maul in the Clone Wars He has voiced Palpatine in Clone Wars and Rebels And of course there's Starkiller from The force Unleashed I find that one bazar actually, because he speaks with two very different dialect patterns. One pattern while he's talking to Vader, has him very slowly and deliberately pronouncing his words with a subtle hint of a "Victorian" accent I want to say. And then when he's alone or speaking to ANYBODY else he's just using his simple every day speech with no trace of an accent at all. Still I find him to be an underrated talent.
I am a die hard Lois Lane, guy. She was my first crush. Clever, brave, and with a sense of justice second to none. Sorry Diana. You bae number 2, but let’s be real. You don’t hold a candle to the daughter of General Lane.
Ocean Master reminds me of Loki in the first Avengers movie in this. He's the evil brother of one of the main heroes, but is the villain for the whole team
I think Superman should have some really close super friends- not just the muggle. It's hard being different and when you're not around your own people It's not good. That's why no one knows where dwarves live. They have to stick together or else the whole world will implode onto itself. 😮

Superman & Wonder Woman are SO much better in this movie than they were in “War.” I know it’s the New 52 influence making Clark more cocky at first, and he’s not perfect yet, but every movie he gets closer to classic Supes. Jerry O’Connell is a better Superman than Alan Tudyk, and Rosario Dawson gives much more nuance to Diana’s vocal performance than Michelle Monaghan
My online youtube buddy let me connect to HBO Max and disney + free whenever I want to watch,, right now I'm polishing off Batman the animated series I've watched just about every DC animated movie even some of the Lego stuff...lol Can't afford it normally so it's nice that he lets me Watch for free , I've never personally met him but I watch all his RUclips videos and some of his live streams he does alot of twitch now.. Because RUclips likes to crack down on copyrights .. I think the oddest one I watched was Batman ninja animated thing Pretty odd
While I like the movie significantly more than the general audience much like you guys. But my god the writers and animators did some mental gymnastics to have Ocean Master beat everyone. Like I get that Superman has no defense to magic, but he did not have to literally ram himself into the trident. Dude create a sound wave with a super clap fuck their water ears up. Wonder woman did not have to keep holding onto the trident, just folding herself for no reason. Cyborg you can fly my guy, why are you getting closer?!? You literally figured out their weakness to sound, keep using it at a distance.
The New 52 is wayyyyy different then the Superman were all use to and the DCAU uses the new 52 Superman which is a little more edgy and has no underwear.

I loved Batman in this universe btw, I mean they even put the Batman hush movie into this universe and they include the bat family, anyway, one of my favorite portrayals of Batman was in this universe, and between the son of Batman, Batman vs Robin, hush, bad blood, death in the family, etc there are a bunch of Batman movies in this universe
The only problem I had about this movie that I remember was that The Justice League had better teamwork when they didn't know each other than when they did.
The personality shift makes sense for Arthur hes a different person sober. Hes a depressed drunk looking for a fight when he drinks and irritable when hungover.
I wasn't the biggest fan of this universe early on, specifically remember not loving this or the first justice league War movie, but if you keep watching them I promise they only get better and better from here on out. It's like it took then a minute to figure out where they were going, and they get really good, especially the second half of them. At least I thought they did.
Coi I believe your version of Superman is your version. Cause base on numerous comic runs by multiple authors Superman is not the same in each book. Even in films. Chris Reeves Superman beat a guy up in a Diner. I think this is one of the main problems with DC characters. We all have our own interpretation on the characters
You are in the minority on this bro. Sure different iterations are there, but their audience numbers are different. Many of these querky ,edgy superman versions didn't work. They have gone back to the OG superman version in the latest Worlds finest comic.

Each time we get a different version. Hell look at the comics. Start from 70's to now. The core consistent take on the character is he saves people and the color of his uniform. Everything else changes per author.

I loved the reaction and I’m not trying to be a dick but these movies should be referenced as the DCAMU (DC animated Movie Universe)
The DCAU refers to the older Batman and Superman animated series along with the tie in movies as well as Batman beyond, static shock, the zeta project, justice league and justice league unlimited
Superman & Wonder Woman are SO much better in this movie than they were in “War.” I know it’s the New 52 influence making Clark more cocky at first, and he’s not perfect yet, but every movie he gets closer to classic Supes. Jerry O’Connell is a better Superman than Alan Tudyk, and Rosario Dawson gives much more nuance to Diana’s vocal performance than Michelle Monaghan
I don't know if it's just a character choice or was that actually Cassandra Sandsmark/Wonder Girl at the diner scene (the Shazam fan)
Besides, Kryptonite Magic is another of Superman's weaknesses.
My online youtube buddy let me connect to HBO Max and disney + free whenever I want to watch,, right now I'm polishing off Batman the animated series I've watched just about every DC animated movie even some of the Lego stuff...lol Can't afford it normally so it's nice that he lets me Watch for free , I've never personally met him but I watch all his RUclips videos and some of his live streams he does alot of twitch now.. Because RUclips likes to crack down on copyrights .. I think the oddest one I watched was Batman ninja animated thing Pretty odd

While I like the movie significantly more than the general audience much like you guys. But my god the writers and animators did some mental gymnastics to have Ocean Master beat everyone.
Like I get that Superman has no defense to magic, but he did not have to literally ram himself into the trident. Dude create a sound wave with a super clap fuck their water ears up.
Wonder woman did not have to keep holding onto the trident, just folding herself for no reason.

The New 52 is wayyyyy different then the Superman were all use to and the DCAU uses the new 52 Superman which is a little more edgy and has no underwear.
I love all of these movies. These movies are connected thought everything and it’s really fun.

This is the DCAMU, not the DCAU. The DCAU is the one that began with Batman: The Animated Series.

I loved Batman in this universe btw, I mean they even put the Batman hush movie into this universe and they include the bat family, anyway, one of my favorite portrayals of Batman was in this universe, and between the son of Batman, Batman vs Robin, hush, bad blood, death in the family, etc there are a bunch of Batman movies in this universe
Death in the Family isn't in this universe. It was made after this universe had ended.

The only problem I had about this movie that I remember was that The Justice League had better teamwork when they didn't know each other than when they did.
I love that Sam Witwer is Oceanmaster. His voice fits too well with that archetype

I wasn't the biggest fan of this universe early on, specifically remember not loving this or the first justice league War movie, but if you keep watching them I promise they only get better and better from here on out. It's like it took then a minute to figure out where they were going, and they get really good, especially the second half of them. At least I thought they did.

Coi I believe your version of Superman is your version. Cause base on numerous comic runs by multiple authors Superman is not the same in each book. Even in films. Chris Reeves Superman beat a guy up in a Diner. I think this is one of the main problems with DC characters. We all have our own interpretation on the characters
You are in the minority on this bro. Sure different iterations are there, but their audience numbers are different. Many of these querky ,edgy superman versions didn't work. They have gone back to the OG superman version in the latest Worlds finest comic.
@@souviksikdar1864 how can I be in the minority when the internet literally show us that everyone has their different interpretation of the character. Look at the directors of the films. Each time we get a different version. Hell look at the comics. Start from 70's to now. The core consistent take on the character is he saves people and the color of his uniform. Everything else changes per author.

My votes are "Superman/Batman" I and II (Darkseid/Barda/Supergirl/WW), "All-Star Superman," "Justice League: New Frontier" and "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths!"
