I have two Lumix S5's... the best camera's I have ever owned.... BUT I come from the film world and my only other digital camera is a Canon 7D, which I am not fond of. I bought an adapter to bring my Nikon glass over... from the 70 and 80's era, and it works great; it is all manual, but very cool. Back in the day, having shot on both Pro Canon and Nikon, that is, the Canon F1 as our go-to for US Army photography in the field, both combat and photojournalism, most of us considered the Nikon to be superior glass. I said that to say this, The L Mount Glass is crazy good. But if you have Canon glass that works, adapters cannot be beat for two very good reasons... 1. Money, and 2.. you already have muscle memory with that glass. You know how it looks, and you know how to get the results you want out of that glass.

Hello Lowell...A quick one ....I saw earlier on you did a video of sigma mc 21 and here is a video for Viltrox adapter ...I fixed and confused on which to get for my lumix S5....From your user case which is better ?....I'll be using with Canon ef 85mm and 70 - 200 f2.8....photography
Question. If you are using an anamorphic lens, you need the correct orientation of the lens. Since most lens are built to be inserted and then twisted, will the Viltrox Pro ensure that the anamorphic lens is in the correct orientation?
hey Stanley, from what I can tell they basically function and perform the same. My only issue is that I was not a huge fan of the viltrox pro-version, it just took longer to swap out lenses. Cheers Sir
Hi, thanks for the video. Are you sure that the stability system depends on the lens electrical connection? That means that you cannot use the stabilization system if you are using vintage manual lenses? :O
I have had this on my shopping list but it’s quite pricey so if you are giving one away, count me in. Currently use similar lens - 50 mm plastic fantastic, a number of vintage lenses and a few kit lenses.

Do you mostly shoot video or photo? With these adapters you need to take the 1,5 crop factor into consideration. Also note that the pixelcount drops from 24 to 16megapixels. This won't matter as much when shooting video. You'll also lose the ability to shoot with continuous autofocus. These are just some things you should consider before buying. I have the sigma version and been very happy with that one. I'd recommend investing native glass at some point but these kind of adapters are a good starting point and give you a lot of flexibility.
