I remember the first time I brought my first real behs amp home, I was so excited, I didn't even bring it inside, I just took it jn my garage, plugged in, popped a low E, and a shovel vibrated off the wall. Never felt like more of a rock star
In all seriousness plugging in my bass and literally blasting my eardrums for the first time will be a memory I never forget. Playing bass helped me get through some hard times. I may be a gamer/developer mainly now but I still play bass with the same passion I had the first time I played it.
Hi Danny, thanks in part to your entertaining and inspiring vids, I've finally picked up my beloved Fender Jazz BEHS again after a hiatus of several years 😊
Even though my set up and playing these days leans more heavily towards guitar - I started my journey into music and bands as a bassist (still play for when I’m writing and recording) and that behs power will never leave my soul. Rousing speech sir
For everyone who was asking he finally did the oil! I first started playing bass in 2009 but didn't start playing it in any sort of serious sense till 2014. Rock on Danny! Rock on! \m/
You're a beast. At age 62 my inspirations are in order. Terry GEEZER Butler, Steve Harris. My first two. My high school buddy used to loan me hi Rick 4001 in 78. Geddy and cor structure.
This video couldn't have released on a better day. Today I was playing behs with my band at the school rally (over 1000 people) and I was jumping like a basketball player, doing the Angus Young walk, literally any crazy playing antics while still hitting the right notes! After that, I was the "jumping guy" around the whole school!
Man, this was the best discours about behs I ever see. I'm serious about that, I don't make compliments lightly. I realy remember the first time I stroke the strings. This was marvelous and I remember the sensation even now. The power of the groove are unique.
Yes i do remember, the instant response of the pluck and the amp with the low end vibrating my soul, i was instantly addicted. And after 26 years of life, i finally had rhythm.
My first bass amp wasn't an actual amp. It was a 3 in 1 Record player, 8 track player and a Radio receiver stereo. On the rear of the device it had an input that said 'Instrument' it was what I used for years. I wish I still had it. It had tubes in it. It's probably pretty valuable now.
I sure do and it was love at first fingery-pluck! I had a red Yamaha RBX200 that had (actually quite decent) P-bass pick-ups and a sleek, gloss black neck that was great to play up and down on. That plugged into an old 65w no-name bass amp that had two channels and a three pin D.I port (so for my first gig with it, the sound man just D.I'd it...and every bugger used it n all 🙄). It was loud enough to be heard over the drums, and it felt good to be part of *something* with friends...and then over the years, new friends made along the way. My favourite moment has been singing *and* playing at the same time, because I had to learn not to sacrifice technique for the sake of making it easier for myself. ...and I *STILL* love the BEHS!!
i know who i’m voting for, sapko, 2024‼️‼️
He's got the behs't plans for the future!
Uh I think that’s the wrong country buddy💀
Me too.
My fbi agent is about to be awfully confused when he sees me googling "when voting for president, can you write in a British national"
Danny for Prime Minister
Isn’t it odd how he’d legitimately do a better job than 9/10 actual politicians 🤯
@MartyJackson and yet people don't like voting for someone "normal".
@@MartyJackson probably because he knows what being honest is and isn't bent over backwards for corruption and systems of old. (I voted Lib Dem)
OF EARTH!!!!
Bass National Anthem
ikr! We have the lyrics now we need the music!
Amen
My eyes haven't woken up yet. I first read that as Bass National Museum... which would also be great
And the National anthem by Radiohead

It made me tear up!!! Love from Italy and BASS IS LIFE!!!!
Danny throwing Geddy Lee in a video always makes me happy. Geddy gets no love

A Phil Lynott shot will always get a thumbs up from me.
I love this guy more and more each video 👍
This should be considered for a Pulitzer. Absolutely touching, beautiful, and profound it is. I need to hug a bassist today. 😢
😅

Rousing speech sir
Very inspirational. Made me want to plug in my bass and feel the blast!!!!!
Dude, that was beautiful! You actually made me cry! Well done, mate!
You missed your calling as a poet laureate. Well done mate! 💪
I got that emotional that I'm crying into my mug of Tetleys
I feel that hum between the rhythm & the drum. ❤
"Like a fool" nice.
Love y'all bass brothers and sisters! We keep the world grooving! Mr Sapko the man! "THE LEGEND!"
Best speech of all time

I think that bass poetry is become my favorite type of literature.
That was fantastic.
Great poetry, like a Christmas poem! Got caught up in the frenzy too!
Beautiful, Danny! I feel this in my heart!
I always love to see Becky Baldwin getting the recognition she deserves.

It was moving to tears...and I'm not a bassist! Danny, You are great!
This is peak level video creation.
I must plug in and play now.
Love it! Playing bass for 20 plus years now couldn't imagine playing any other instrument

You took me right back to the 1989 Hondo P-Bass copy I got in 1994 - I worked (lazily) the entire summer to get it!
YES! I also had a mighty Hondo precision copy. Red, with a white scratch plate, just like Mark Knopfler's strat.
@@pauljenkins9666 nice! Mine was powder blue
I feel this should have been a holiday poem, has that feel to it. Very nice!
Us Behs players approve this rhyme!
Beautifully said!!!
I love Danny's poetry (Deh 34 of asking for Mikey Weh behs tohn)
This… this… is… beautiful!! 🥹
Danny was the reason i started playing the bass
Smart move on that thumbnail Danny
I feel dirty yet robbed...

I feel deserted without my BEHSist. Love, your guitarist 🥹
It's so beautiful Danny, I'm crying. We'll maybe not crying, but smiling. Lol
That was beautiful
I remember starting guitar, then a few months later picking up my brother's bass and learning "Traumatized" by Grouplove, the rest was history.
You are constantly writing great lines for your videos but honestly, this was a speech worth voting for 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is a pure genius BEHS panegyric anthem! I'm in tears.
Move aside Rik from the Young Ones, we have a new People’s Poet!
Love me some Stand up Bass. The big OG.
I saw a video with Steve Harris, and I gave the video a thumbs up.
It's really just that simple.
Danny, RUclips’s best BEHS channel by far!!! 👍
That was beautiful, of course I'm not crying.
"as excited as her"
Truthfully said. Very well said.
Glorious!
Just saw Slift play last night in Seattle, and the behssist was there. Jokes aside, he killed it, they all did, it was a blast
Allow me to wipe the tear from my eye! Powerful stuff!
I love your take on Dr Seuss poetry. I've listened a handful of times
Woah I feel motivated
And I play guitar
You're a poet!
Well... this is the lyrics to the BEHS "national" anthem!
To be played only on BEHS!!
Holy shit I am about to cry, that was majestic
