I own a reissue... It's a plug and play amp for me. I just turned it on, everything at noon through V30s and there it was... exact tone I've been looking for all my life.
Yeah, he thinks of everything. I hear he's got something in the works with S.C. Johnson, a family company, for some sort of smell-o-vision thing, so you can get a whiff of cooking tubes.😁
I have a 2550 50w Silver Jubilee head and matching 4X12 cab I bough new in June of 1988 for $1200 USD. Thankfully I have taken great care of it and it still looks like new. What a great amp. Love the video!
Now this is the ultimate Silver Jubilee tone guide! More versatile than i thought. Thanks for taking the time and effort and sharing your knowledge with us, Johan! Cheers to Sweeden!
Excellent demo Johan. I bought the 2525HD3 with the matching 1936GD1 cab with the 25w greenbacks in and I bought it based on one of your older jubilee videos and I couldn't be happier. Perfect Angus/Malcolm tone. Great video 👍
Sounds awesome man.....i owned the 25 watt head at one time, worst mistake ive made, one of them, was selling it...i have to have one again....love your channel man.
I was looking hard at the 25/25 for a while before finding the Dirty Shirley Mini head from Friedman. This is a killer amp man, you really make it sound great! I never knew that it'll do the JTM thing. What a bonus
@@Jettblack_ I love it. It does the JTM/Bassman thing for me. Cleans, pushed cleans, and 70s rock levels of gain all sound awesome. With the gain (S) switch in the highest setting, it gets you into 80s territory. Works great as a pedal amp and sounds awesome on its own. I like the cleans, they're not blackface Fender, but they are similar in character to my 1987 Marshall and DSL20. I love a Marshall clean sound. It also cleans up with your guitar volume at respectable gain levels (low and mid- S switch settings). One of the great features for me is the master volume works really well for low volume home playing. It does this head and shoulders better than my DSL20. So well that I don't use an attenuator with it and I have the Ironman II. It also sounds good to me through Vintage 30s and Greenbacks. It's still a single channel amp, so that may be a consideration for you.
Great sound, as always on your videos. You have magic power, making everything sound wonderful! And, Silver Jubilee is also great amp. Great work, man!
Brilliant! Thanks for running through these settings, having some new ideas for sounds makes me want to go tweak knobs! I recently grabbed one of the modern 20 watt combos and it's been all I play through lately, my Mesa's are sitting collecting dust. I've had several Marshall's over the years and just always felt like I was missing something (probably volume since they were all big heads and 412's and I'm an apartment dweller lol) but that studio just sounds great at any volume to me. Cheers sir!
God I love this guy. It’s been years now and he’s still busting out sick shit . I wish he would do a favorite list . I know that’s not easy but would be really cool. Or a top 5 .
I love my 2554 for recording mainly. The EQ section is very responsive. And it has an effects loop too.I also use a basic 1936 cab too sometimes and the sound is huge.
The mini jube is so versatile. Replaced the Greenback with a Marshall G12 and even better., although does sound great with the greenback. The lead channel with rhythm clip off is a really underused setting. Only thing missing is the rhythm clip being foot switchable, would complete the amp. Great video as always Johan, keep,on rocking 🤟🤟🤟
I have a 2x12 Silver Jubilee version, SN 00777, bought it in 1996. Just had some work done on it. Impedance selector was replaced. Still has original Marshall Vintage 30s and original filter caps. Very versatile amp, can do JTM45 like clipping to more boosted overdrive. I think the pre amp is voiced like the early JTM amps before the Super Leads came around. The one thing I found out about the preamp is that the Bass control is a stacked-pot, at least it is on mine, so I seems to be doing 2 things at once. On 8 or less it acts like the Bright channel on a Super Lead, from 9-10 the bottom and low-mids fill out quite a bit, similar to patching Bright and Normal channels. I sounds like the original Hendrix sounds, especially on the neck pick up of a Strat. So it's a pretty versatile amp that covers alot of ground for sounds.
I just picked up a knocked about mini jubilee 2525c with burns and paint spills....my goodness what an amp! immediately put two other amps up for sale...
Years ago my buddy's bandmate wanted to get a new amp and wanted to sell his Silver Jubilee 25/50 head. I showed up to their studio with my $400 and just before I could leave with it, their guitar tech told him not to sell it. He said he would regret it as it would be collectable. Doh.....I picked up a JCM800 1x12 combo 50w, (vertical inputs already forget the model number 4210??). Don't miss the Jubilee at all. I made mine a channel switcher. I did a few minor mods to the circuit. It is a beast.
Long time subscriber here, and this is my favourite clip you've ever put up. I love the Silver Jubilee. I have the 20w Studio Combo now and its an incredible amp. I've been playing for more than 30 years and I've owned 4 Marshalls. A Plexi Reissue, and 3 JCM800s. But I had my chances to get a Jube back in the day, and didnt. Now as a home player with the studio version, I wish I'd gotten onto them all those years ago. I'm hoping to step up to an original 25/50 if I ever have the space, and money.... LP Custom sounded unreal here. Those saturated tones are the ultimate in rock tone in my view. Well played Johan, once again
Funny, I remember when these things came out, I got all excited about the spec, headed out to buy one, and thought they were rubbish. Still got my JCM800 though. Sounds good here.
@@JohanSegeborn Agree. I have a friend with an older UK made DSL20 that can sound really good, but does the same thing where it mushes-up and gets smaller as the gain gets too high. Hi, Johan! Very nice amp. I am not using no pedals last 2 years - I am playing on the amp only. This one I was taking, but after the bad times will go away. Good call actually. Separate gains and a Master Volume would be the perfect layout. Eliminates the volume difference between the 2 channels when switching. Would be much more versatile too
@@jeremyjohnston592 Thanks. It's the only reason I sold mine, other than a great deal on an old Orange 412. I always wanted the rhythm channel to be less front end gain (on the dial) than the lead, and could never get it. Still a great amp, but I prefer others for channel switching amps.

As far as the lead channel, that is really nice (again my new 2525C), and the best sounding amp I've had to date, but the old one in this video sounds so much juicer and squishier overdriven goodness!!!
