  • I'm so glad you guys recommended this one. I've heard the song before (love Kelly) but this performance was something special and I have you to thank for being able to experience it.
I watched as Kelly's inner 6yr old came crying out and bringing everyone to tears (I'm just secretly glad it wasn't just me, haha).

Kelly making grown men cry yas. Here for it

  • @DC21NY

This song starts off with the abandonment of a father then to the idea that he will only be there if you have something he wants. Any parent or child whose been abandoned by a parent will not only relate, but feel the same emotions that stirs from the 2 verses. The 3rd verse was so filled with hope, love, and optimist, that we all start becoming emotionally vulnerable. Add on the emotion and break downs she had while singing to a simple piano melody, you have to feel it.

Crying. I never thought of it as being weakness. We were raised not to cry - even if we got hurt from playing, etc... In my early forties, the ER doctor didn't believe my abdominal pain was 8 in the scale pain. Boy, when he pressed down on the pain, without a sound, I swiftly shifted away from him. He had this shocked look. Anyway, after tests were done, he wanted me to have surgery the next day. Even after the surgery, I was stoic in front of family. However, my niece told me that I was moaning in pain while sleeping. Hard habit to break - to learn to cry. Show pain... By the way, my sister cries when watching movies. I cry when I read books.

Kelly Clarkson is the best singer of all time for me! She knows how to draw you into her songs. Many lives have been touched by her songs. Please react to her Meaning of Life album. This is the first album she recorded since being contractually obligations with American Idol. Kelly had to be signed with RCA Records for 15 years. Then in 2017 Kelly signed with Atlantic Records and she felt free to finally write the album that she always wanted to. So Meaning of Life is her album. It's the best album, IMO, of hers. Please react to I Don't Think About You. That song talks about how people took control of her life, like Clive Davis, for example, and now finally she walks away from all of them and is free to do what she wants. Please watch the video of it. You'll love it!
Thank you, Dad_Plays_, for reacting to this song of Kelly's!

It's a tragedy, isn't it??? Damage done is life altering. My parents split, as did my husband's. But my Dad's consistent and daily expressed unconditional love contrasts so starkly with the treatment my husband suffered by his Dad's despicable behavior. The lifelong damage done to my husband's heart will never go away. He doesn't dwell on it, but it has informed his loving commitment to our daughters that at times has taken my breath away.

Understandable. Sorry for the loss you felt long before your Dad passed. You can forgive someone (or not, also understandable), yet know that they cannot be allowed into your life. Hugs.

This is a very personal heart fell song from her personal pass that people should hear. Just because a person can have kids, do not mean that they should. I not calling them bad people, but you have to make the time, the support, and the love they need for it to be a good thing. I think you need a fun one to watch. Haha thank you so much for the “fun one” suggestion. I probably could use a break from the heavy songs for at least one video. I’ve got quite list going but I’ll try to get to it as soon as I can.

The song is so heart breaking. I can relate to it. My father left me when I was eight and listening this song moves me a lot. I am not a father yet but I hope to give all my love and heart to my future kids.

I'm so glad I discovered your channel. This song gets me every single time. Could you please react to I dare you (recorded live during a zoom session in 6 different languages) by Kelly? It's beyond amazing. There's also a song by Saara Aalto called Monsters that she recorded live and she sings every single sentence in a different language. 34 altogether. Without a sheet of music or auto tune. Super impressive ♥️

Heartbreaking song it Always brings tears to my eyes no matter how many times I’ve seen it. You should react to Morrisette Amon from the Phillipines she’s phenomenal and can hit outrageous notes. Check her out singing “never enough” and “rise up” you will get a lot of new Filipino subscribers

This song affects me so deeply because my parents split up when I was exactly her age-BUT-my Dad was there for me, every day, even if he wasn't (allowed to be) physically there. I always felt so cherished by my Dad and still do to this day. The harm that a parent can do to a child's heart and future is incalculable. I'm betting she made relationship choices that were less than healthy due to the damage her father did to her.
You were so emotional because apparently not only can you relate in terms of whatever happened to you as a child, but because once you become a parent, the reality of what that parent did hits home so very harshly. My husband didn't realize how horrible his father was until he had our daughters, because he loves them so much that he CANNOT IMAGINE (as you said) "what could possess a man to do that to their own child." Indeed.
Thanks-you may not see this as it's been a while since you did this reaction, but your video got me in the feels big time.

I’m glad you commented and thanks for watching. 🥰

Wow, I really appreciate this reaction. I’ve watched other people react and while some show emotion, others don’t. It always makes me wonder how they cannot cry. Maybe they just felt embarrassed to do so, maybe they didn’t connect to the song? I’ve been a fan of Kelly since American Idol, I know the back story of this song, but even if I didn’t I think I would still break. I’ve seen this probably 100 times since it first aired and I cannot keep dry eyes and my dad never left me until he died, but I can empathize. Thank you for not feeling ashamed to show tears, crying is a human thing, not a girlie thing. All humans need to release those emotions, it’s healthy. I know many men who struggle with trying not to cry because they were told growing up that real men don’t cry. No, they should cry. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. If men weren’t supposed to cry, they’d not have the capability. So thank you for being vulnerable on camera. You’ve gained a subscriber.
