I really like your opinion! It should be noted that Lara was struggling with a professional and private crisis at the time and was often hurt by the press and others. She had very bad thoughts, she said in an interview. Fans at the door warned those attending her concert, "Lara isn't going to sing, we're singing to her today, we've agreed with the pianist!" 8-10 thousand people together! Her manager asked her at the end of the lecture, "Are you still saying you have no reason to live! ???" Thank you for reading
I'm an opera, hardcore punk, cold-wave, heavymetal / speedmetal - head. I crack down completely - every time I look at this performance. The sheer vulnarability is killing me... and not even softly.
En plus elle a l’intelligence de décaler son "je t’aime" par rapport au "on t’aime" de la foule comme si l’un répondait à l’autre, puis de les refaire coïncider comme si la rencontre et le dialogue entre les deux devenaient fusion.
Yes..at that moment she was singing "I love you(je t'aime)" in response to the audience saying..."We love you( On t'aime)" It is such a beautiful heartfelt moment!

I was in the audience the night(s) this concert was filmed, and the energy was so electric. To be in a room filled with thousands of other people who love and adore Lara just as much as I do was an unbelievable experience. Thank you for your wonderful honest reactions.
It's a dialogue between Lara and her public. She's so unique that people feels it and support her with their souls and voices and she, is so sensitive and humble that allows people to surprise her and sing with her.
Ok, mates, lost you there, but can we just concentrate on the fact that the audience sang 'ont t'aime ' and not 'je t'aime', as in it was a love song between Lara and the audience.
You are one of the only people I've watched react to this (without the back story) who recognized that they were singing TO her, not for her or along with her, but *to* her. And that makes a difference. She recognized that even before the chorus where they changed the words to On t'aime, "We love you" and sings along with *them*. And then when she hears their declaration of love for her, she always allows them to say it first before she replies with "I love *you*". But for me, the most powerful moment is the one you said was her "stepping into her moment". And I'll agree with you, sort of. Maybe I'm projecting because this would be so Very difficult for me to do, but what I saw was an amazing amount of grace she extended toward her audience along with a lot of humility. It's been said by many that one of the hardest things to do on stage is nothing. And as you've said several times, Lara gives *everything* in her performances. Many people also find it challenging to gracious in receiving what another is wanting to give. What I saw was Lara recognizing her fans' desire to love her, to *give* her back her own words that she gives to them in her albums and her concerts and being gracious enough to receive it as they meant to give it to her. She didn't just stay sitting back on the steps as she did during the verses. Neither did she take back control when she walked forward into their "midst", out of the "protection" of the band and the shadows. She walked out and gave them the chance to say what they wanted to, to give her that gift. And she received it with an enormous grace. All while standing there doing nothing, the thing that exposes you as a performer, the thing that they say takes the most courage. That, to me, is an incredible moment in a magical, undoubtedly, once in a lifetime experience for Lara, her fans, and the band, too. I will never have her voice nor her ability to convey emotion. But I hope one day to be half as courageous and gracious as she was here.
Superb analysis of everything that happened around that performance of the song, for Lara, her audience, and now everybody at home watching this (hopefully for years to come!).... BRAVO...!!! (just finished wiping my tears away).......
What you missed is that the audience is not singing the original lyrics "I love you" instead they are singing "We love you" and she replies "I love you"
I was moved to tears the 1st time I heard this years ago. Imagine being a singer and walking out on stage and having your song sung back to you so vocally by loving fans! I would have been in pieces, she held it together rather well considering!
Lara had separated a few days ago from her partner and it was very sad for her. In this recital, people decided to sing to her to tell her how they loved her. Very exciting.
Ah what a great reaction! Yes it is a dialogue, crowd say : on t'aime (we love you), she answer Je t'aime, even playing backup singer at times. That's probably the dream of any artist.
She had been through a tough time emotionally and professional and she had thought about ending it all , the crowd are singing we love you not I love you .absolutely beautiful.
Very emotional DAD. I've watched this performance several times and I have tears in my eyes every time. Lara Fabian fully deserves this tribute paid by her supporters and when more than 12,000 people sing it to you, it is very gratifying. Thank you from Montreal. Please ADAGIO, BROKEN VOW and PERDERE L'AMORE FROM LARA WITH LOVE. I am proud to subscribe to your channel.
Well hello Montreal! Such a wonderful city. I spent a couple of weeks there a few years ago for work and it was just amazing. Those songs are defiantly on my list and I promise to get to them as soon as I can. I hope you understand I have to fit in different artists and other requests but Lara is defiantly at the top of my list. Thank you so much for the kind words and the support!
@@tnae Hi, please I'd love to see you deconstruct and react to this Lara Fabian - "Dites-Moi Pourquoi Je L'aime" live 1998 performance: ruclips.net/video/-85T-iR7dfc/видео.html Many thanks
What makes it special is that it is a love song that is meant to be sung for the audience, but as the audience then sings for her, which then shows a mutual love between them. True love. And that honesty from the audience and Lara touches me. A once in a lifetime experience that we have fortunately been allowed to experience. How must it not have been and be in that concert hall when so many years later we can be as moved as many of us have become, by and watch that video.
Thank you for this beautiful and emotional reaction and welcome to the universe of Lara Fabian. She‘s not just a fantastic Singer/ Songwriter but also a wonderful human being. Please do more reactions to her.
I knew and liked this channel since a while. Took some time to connect it to often mentioned 'Brandon' but got it now - and understand. I also think the reaction deserves appreciation for the empathic and thoughtful approach to this special performance and moment. Respect Brandon !
No matter how many times I watch this, it always has the same affect on me. And knowing all the backstory makes it all the more poignant and beautiful. And like others, I subscribed to your channel because of your open and heartfelt reaction to this amazing, artist and moment
The song is "I love you" while the audience sings "we love you". European audiences like to participate in a show. Apparently, she had been going through rough times and the audience was encouraging her.
This was like watching a bunch of romantic movies with emotional happy endings all rolled into one in just 3 minutes wasn't it? :) I knew you would react the way you did to the artist's special moment and this was a special reaction video.
Thank you Sir for reacting to this very perfomance:) This is one of my favorites that I watch over and over again. Lara is one of her kind. And I say this as a badass blackmetal guitarist:) Cheers from Sweden:)
Her listeners are singing WE LOVE YOU and she’s singing I LOVE YOU!!! I was out of my breath when I heard this… she’s really crying… I said same words - it worth to live for such moments 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I still haven't found a way to watch this without getting emotional. So I just no longer fight back the tears. Just enjoy the moment. Great reaction, thanks!
I always get emotional watching this Lara performance but you made it 10x more emotional. It's very humbling to see you react it such a deep way. I'm sorry you've gone through what you did, you're gonna be okay. Pull through! Regarding Lara, you got it all right. She is 300% dedicated to her work and always pours her entire soul into it. I think it's kind of obvious but she's also a wonderful human being, very compassionate and kind. Please react to more of her. Her performances/music will do something to you
your reactions are always right and your sensitivity is touching. it is true that lara at the beginning of her career in france was criticized a lot but today the french give her their love.
What you are seeing, and feeling, has so much more than singing a song. We know she is a gifted Vocalist so the performance means nothing in terms of "The Performance". I have watched this several times and each time I realize it is one of the greatest thing I've ever seen. And felt. I want to know what she was thinking after it was over. Music is this universal language that reaches across barriers to make people feel. As a french speaker, the fan at the beginning telling her not to sing, the crowd knowing every heartfelt word and the power of simply changing “je t’aime” (I love you) to “on t’aime” (WE love you) had me sobbing. Excellent, @alterego3590!
the crowd is singing to her saying "on t'aime" means we love you. and she is replying " je t'aime" means i love you...
Lara sings "I love you" and crowd singing back "we love you (Lara)"
Lara: "I love you". The crowd: "We love you". How any woman can feel when thousands are telling her that she is loved?...

The crowd changed the words from "je t'aime" = "I love you" to "on t'aime" = "we love you". The place is the "Zenith" at Paris with about 5900 people.
Ok, mates, lost you there, but can we just concentrate on the fact that the audience sang 'ont t'aime ' and not 'je t'aime', as in it was a love song between Lara and the audience.
Dammit, that woman just makes me cry! What a performer, what an artist, what a singer. The complete package.
You should listen..Adagio..Broken vow...and" Je suis malade"
@@claudeproulx-tl5ff “Je Suis Malade” is my all time favourite performance. And I mean PERFORMANCE - it is outstandingly beautiful and touching.
Mate, was amazing review, full of emotion and feelings, thanks for that, love you
So many people call her Diva, I call her a gift from Heaven.
Well said my friend. You see Lara is much more than just a singer, she is the essence of music itself.

The song I believe means “I love you” and her fans are singing “We Love You”’
