Love being brought back to season 1 primeval. The show had so much mystery and intrigue in its early seasons. Keep the great content coming! : )
I think the mystery was kept all the way through the series till the end but I will agree that the mystery of the anomaly’s where lost a bit by the time they got to series 3 but they where still interesting with the things they can do with them like locking a anomaly that happen in series 3 and making a anomaly to that happen in series 5
I just got my aunt to watch Primeval this week. She's seen to the end of this episode now, borrowing my DVDs to watch. She's quite enjoying it, after only a week ago saying she had no interest in the show.
I did email you a couple of days ago regarding some time travel plotholes in this episode. However, the stuff about small mososaurs in the drains does come up at the start of the next episode with the snake in the toilet. In the novelisation, episodes 3 and 4 are in one book, so the snake in the toilet scene feels a lot more like a continuation of the possobility of mososaurs in the drains idea.
So glad you guys are doing this literally just finished a complete binge and it's all my mind goes back to. Still amazes me how this show was just left hanging
Glad you are enjoying our breakdowns. Keep enjoying Primeval.

Loving these breakdowns. Learnt a fair bit in this one. One thing I've recently noticed about this episode is how Lester's hair keeps changing, especially in its length. Compare the shot of him arguing with Claudia outside of the house to any point earlier in the episode and you'll see it. His hair grows to resemble more of his episode 6 look in the space of 5 minutes. I do agree though in thinking this episode might be the best-written episode of Primeval, with episode 6 being close behind; that classic sense of series 1 mystery is definitely strongest here. Shame the mystery of the anomalies slowly fades as the show goes on to become more action-oriented and flashy in its presentatation, as I much prefered the gritty and almost bleak lens of series 1. Still love it to pieces though.
Yes, we have been adoring the Mysteriousness of the Anomalies in Series 1. Keep posted for Episode 4 Breakdown.

Hesperornis didn't have feathers probably because of the lack of budget. If I remember correctly, I think I read that the Dodos' feathers were sculpted instead of actual feathers because of the budget
Yes I believe that is the case.

These are fantastically done, looking forward to working my way through the season and hope you keep forward with season 2 and beyond!
Just writing the scripts for Series 2 now. 3/7 complete.
My favourite part of this episode is where Cutter goes through the anomaly in the past and that music start playing. That was a great scene.
Stuff like the Crystal Palace made me think this show was gonna be educational. Nope.
Connor in this episode: How much sex are they (Stephen and Allison) gonna be having?
Me: Not as much as you and Abby in a few series', I'd imagine. Or with such happy results (cough cough, Episode 5.6) 👶🏻
The first time they did do it was probably when they first got together during their year in the past. 😂
