    The Apollo Go electric scooter is a beginner friendly dual motor 46 lbs transportation option at a reasonable price. This electric scooter has regenerative brakes, a relatively small deck size, but handlebars set to fit an adult rider. The dual 350w motors give the Apollo Go 700w of power, and if you don't blast the trottle like I did they say you can do 20-30 miles of range. You can see my Apollo Go range results in this video, along with the acceleration and top speed performance metrics. All in all this is a quality scooter from a reputable company that gives a smooth powerful ride and solid range at a fair price. The cherry on top is the UL certification making this one safer than many cheap china e-scooter brands.

    Great review--thank you!
    My previous scooter experience was on rentals, the Lime in particular, but I bought the 2024 Apollo Go.
    Go is faster & quicker than the 2024 Lime, but the Lime is smoother, more comfortable, and more stable.
    The Go wheels are tiny for portability, but it’s a bumpy ride and not very comfortable. The wheels take literally five strokes from the Joe Blow bike pump.
    The Go won’t fit in my WRX sedan trunk, unless I leave the trunk open. It’s very tight.
    The Go fits in the back seat of my car but it takes the full length of the seat. I’m not sure if the City or Klima would fit on the back seat.
    The Go fits easily in our Impreza hatchback, and it could easily hold two
    The deck of the Go is a bit cramped and I find myself shifting my feet around frequently on a one hour ride.
    The Go climbs small hills well, and large hills slowly. I live in the mountains.
    Battery drains quickly for 195 pound rider at mostly full speed, but it lasts a long time at more comfortable speeds.
    Dot Matrix display needs trip odometer and clock. Definitely room for improvement on the display. I don’t like it.
    Quad phone mount is useful but I don’t like fiddling with my phone.
    Excellent production quality & shipping
    Unit arrived from Best Buy in two days, perfect shape
    Very good help desk response over text & email
    Good printed documentation for setup
    Decent smart phone app for settings, but could be simplified.
    Good assembly video on RUclips.
    Easy & exciting setup.
    I never want to be a scooter mechanic and Paul @Electric Scooter Review scored the Go 9.2 out of 10 for maintenance. This was a big factor in my purchase.
    I like the scooter but wish for longer range and a smoother ride, without sacrificing portability. I want it all!
    Now I’m thinking I might go with electric bikes if I had the choice again.

    Sooo many features squeezed into every square inch, it's like it was designed by a pocket knife company. Considerable bang for the buck and fun. And like many others, I'm just getting to the end of the driveway and back until it warms up some 20 degrees, so thanks for keeping the fire burning their in LA. Great review, once again!

    Despite all its niceties, the main issue with this scooter is the lack of overall versatility due to limited range. With reviewers seeing 14 - 19 miles max, with at least one reviewer cruising at 20mph until it would no longer sustain, which is fairly unimpressive. Apollo used 30 x 21700 cells in 10 series, 3 parallel. Had they simply gone with 40 cells in 10 Series 4 Parallel, it would have transformed this scooter into one of the most versatile units in scooter history while not giving up any of it's other fantastic attributes. Adding 10 cells would add less than 2lbs to this unit, even factoring in a slightly deeper battery tub. I wish they'd make a "max" version with 40 cells and 2-3" wider handlebars so that there was room to add an accessory or two... lights, bell, etc. I love everything else about the this scooter but the range is an issue compared to its competitors from Niu, Segway, VMAX and others.

    • @imglidinhere
      @imglidinhere Месяц назад

      Yeah I am inclined to agree. The idea that these scooters are "totally fine" to go only 20-25 miles is a bit of a let-down. My Mantis V2 was reviewed to be able to go 25-27 miles, but only doing 15-18mph, which goes completely against the point of a scooter that can casually double that speed and then some. Really wish manufacturers would embrace the 'oversized' battery philosophy that some models have taken. I would not mind the scooter being another 3-4 inches longer and weigh another few pounds to double or triple the battery size and get 35+ miles of range with the throttle wide open the whole way. I'd love that.

    Apollo will have about 26 upgrades/improvements on the next generation of the Go. They seem to like to use their buyers of a new model of scooter as beta testers, so that they can make improvements on the scooter, based off of their beta testers issues and complaints.
    For me...it's an Apollo No. At least until the more improved Apollo Go hits the market.

      Hi @onceuponareset-ho7fg - thanks for your comment here, and just want to update you on our processes for scooter launches. We now have 5 different versions of our scooters (V1, V2, V3, V4, V5) before we then launch V6 to our beta platform. Once the Beta's ride 10,000KM +, the scooter then goes to launch. For the GO here for example, it's gone through 6 iterations and a Beta program, and is now mass market ready 🙂. We learnt, in all honesty, from the City in which we did have upgrades and changes on the next batches post launch, and today the Go is ready to Go (no pun intended). We're always improving and as transparent as possible!

    If your actually a commuter or you want to urban explore - Uscooter GT is better - i don't understand why APOLLO doesnt give the fold down handles on a commuter scooter like this !? That's so clutch when your poppin in and out of stores, busses, etc- all you get with this is an extra 2or3 miles per hour and some extra range + extra weight :/

    • @eloipecquet
      @eloipecquet 3 месяца назад +2

      You get a rock solid handlebar as well! I do have a Uscooter GT, I do like how smalls it gets, but I hate the shaky handlebar or stem! Our Scooters, including the go, have a 10 000km warranty and that would not be possible or safe with the current systems of folding handlebars!

    Nice e-scooter for a stroll. The screen doesn't flicker because of the 60 FPS but rather because of the different refresh rate frequency, which is in hz, and on the GoPro, the settings are for 50hz (used in Europe) and 60hz, (used in the United States). Other than that, I was a good review, as always. Regards!

      @savemankind738 3 месяца назад

      @@alexsherel3344 When companies / people say beginner scooter , they mean bare bone everything . I have never bought beginner anything , the reason being is people get a hang of things very quickly and then they want to upgrade , so you'll be loosing the money trying to sell this in order to buy a more advanced scooter. I for example had never ridden a scooter before and my first scooter was a splach titan ( bought a used one ) that thing had dual 1300 watt motors , it was overwelming to ride that because even with one motor that thing was pulling my 200lbs weight like nothing, and would jerk me back with the amount of torque it had , but within 2 to 3 days I got used to the power .This scooter will only make sense if you have to climb stairs while carrying it , otherwise buy something more powerful because later on you'll want that extra hill climbing torque , plus range is usually a big thing and something that only gives you 11 to 12 miles to a charge will get pretty boring .
