    I have an etwow/Uscooters sport and with folding handlebars portability can’t be beaten, however it has 8 inch solid tyres, no indicators or IP rating, and a single 350 watt 500 peak motor so it’s noisy on rough surfaces despite having suspension and can’t be used in any wet conditions and of course grip with solid tyres isn’t as good anyway. The Apollo go literally solves all of these problems be it not quite as portable due to fixed handlebars but they are still narrow anyway. Glad you pointed out all these good things in your review Tim! I hope the stem light gets added to future versions of the Apollo air and city! I do however think the white plastic cover of the rear lights mean the indicators at the back aren’t very visible in the day so surely transparent plastic would improve this, we are seeing lots of scooters with handlebar indicators that are protected on the ends (vmax, Segway, niu etc) and think Apollo should implement this. But overall such a great product and I agree I like the consistent design language and aesthetics, I mean you can tell if a scooter is an Apollo. It’s so competitive now in the commuter scooter segment, choosing one isn’t easy!

      @TimsElectric  15 дней назад

      Awesome @e-scooterguy, you nailed it.
      I literally have a UScooter hung on the wall of my apartment.
      I use it all the time for short hops in the city...light folds up so small...love it.
      But it does have shortcomings as you outlined. So does the GO replace the UScooter?
      I'm not sure it does...I have a City and love it...the only thing is..that in the dark and wet the GO is far superior to both...I"m so torn :(
      What would you do?

    • @e-scooterguy
      @e-scooterguy 15 дней назад +1

      @ is the Go better than the city in the wet with smaller thinner tyres? Lighting definitely the Go wins so i definitely think next city iteration and air have to have this stem light bar. In the dry for short journeys on smooth cycle ways if you have them a uscooter is unbeatable, however in a country with lots of wet and changing weather, bad surfaces as a whole the Go is a better option. If you commute and use a scooter a lot I’m not sure my uscooter is better than a GO. Though there is a big price discrepancy having said that to consider. I think the Go caters for short/medium commuting and those who want just one scooter that does most things well. If you are able to own more than one then perhaps a uscooter and a city is a great option! do you think the GO is better than the vmax2 pro mind Tim??

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  15 дней назад

      Awesome reply...thank you...I think you're bang on...I think the GO is a better fit for me than the VMax 2 ...I like the suspension on the GO but the range on the VMax (GT) is longer....both excellent quality...probably the GO for me...or City...if the lighting was like the GO on the city then that's probably the one for me ;)

    Hi Tim. Just found your channel, and I was so impressed by your amazing, down to earth, reality driven reviews and other video's. I'm over in the UK where e scooters are illegal! But they're doing research! (for six years WTF). I think the GO looks great, I'm also a bigger guy bit lighter and shorter than yourself but do consider my weight a factor. I liked one of your old videos on "are e scooters illegal"? And I've cut and copied the link and sent it to our ministry of transport.... you said everything I also believe. Whilst I like the look of the GO I'm also looking at the City Pro, dual motors, more oomph and range. Would you do a comparison sometime? The problem we have over the water in the UK is the illegality of the scooters, the idiot politicians say an e scooter's nearest like is a car, and therefor you can't register or insure an e scooter as it isn't a car... I know stop the insanity. The problem we have is that if your caught riding the police are "encouraged" to warn you, and from that point you have to walk home or take your scoot on public transport! If it's a "jobsworth copper" then they can fine you hundreds of pounds/Dollars, six points on your car license (12 points is you banned!) and confiscate your scooter and crush it, or if they're feeling kind impound it and you have to pay hundreds to get it released! So every time I ride I have an element of discomfort regarding our police. Sorry for the long winded reply, but I am really impressed by your approach and reviews and logic... great stuff. I'm hooked and subscribed! Have a great Christmas. Years ago (I'm 65) I was at sea and spent a great deal of time in your beautiful BC and also on Vancouver Island. Great memories of a lovely place and lovely people.

      Lovely to hear from you @PhilKay-vp6qi, I was originally from England...lived there until 3rd form...but I must admit I am confused by your politicians. If I fly into heathrow and get a taxi into the city I can rent an electric scooter...but if live in London and buy an electric scooter I can't ride it on the public streets...seems absurd to me ...love the idea of a comparison video...I think it needs to happen...perhaps early in the New Year :) Personally I think I'll stick with my City...but the GO is amazing at night...depends on the range and hills in your part of the world...and if you do decide on one do let me know and I hope the plod don't nick it from you :) Cheers

    Do you prefer the comfort on the go or the vmax vx4? Since they are priced around the same, im debating which one to get.

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  15 дней назад +1

      Awesome question @anjilu7057, I think they're different scooters for different riders.
      But I also think I need to do a comparison....but the VX4 that I have has a massive battery so the range is amazing.
      Similar in power...similar in ride...but if you need to fold it up and carry it then the Apollo.
      I find the GO more zippy if that makes sense...also the ergonomics are just a bit better on the GO.
      For example the indicator...I'm never sure if they're on with the VMAX but with the GO I can hear it...and it shuts off after a few secs.
      Bottom line I think I need to do a video...I'll ask Eric and see if he can help with one soonest :)

    If you reside in a hilly region, this scooter might not be the most suitable choice, considering its difficulty on that particular hill? If you had to estimate the slope measurement, what would you guess it to be?

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  13 дней назад

      Awesome question @JulianKovalsky, it's very steep...I need to have some text on the screen that shows the length and slope angle...I'll endeavour to pop out today and measure it and let you know but will add the info to future videos as I do the "Hill of Death" test regularly :) Thanks for asking :)

      Another thing I don't see in reviews, is how easy is it to walk each scooter when you're not riding it. If I have to push it up a hill or take it into a store, are all scooters easy to walk?

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  9 дней назад +1

      totally understand...in that case I'd look at the City...it eats the steeper hills up :)

    My only worry as a big guy myself is how does it handle hills. If this can climb at least a 7% grade for about 25m, then I'm sold. Other than that, solid looking product

    • @TimsElectric
      @TimsElectric  15 дней назад

      Awesome question @asrecords8451, A 7% grade hill is a hill with a slope of 4.0° and a ratio of 1 in 14.3. This means that for every 100 feet of horizontal distance on the hill, the vertical rise is 7 feet...I really don't see this being an issue for myself. I've been all over the city...it does slow down on longer steeper hills ...but it did get up the hill of death...just ...so I think if you're similar size to me then it should be fine...otherwise look at the City.....I have a decision to make now...do I keep it or stay with my City...I'm not sure...the lighting is extraordinary :)

    My 7 reasons not to own an Apollo Go.
    1) No disc brakes so hence a poor stopping distance in emergencies.
    2) extremely narrow handlebars.
    3) Underpowered for price
    4) No back sweep or upsweep on handlebars so bad ergonomics for riding.
    5) Tyre size too small
    6) Poor quality suspension for the price
    7) No room for handlebar accessories
