I've updated the miz and a few configs to attempt to smooth some of confusion people have had. github.com/thebgpikester/ACE . In the coming weeks I will release a rewrite with different style but the same goals; two AI sides fighting. Look out for it!
Im a real noob when it comes to moose. Can i merge my script template with ai cap and cgi with this? Or do i have to create seperate boarders?(because overlapping lines) I hope you understood the question. Thx for this amazing script
Use the updated version on GitHub, follow the very important instrucitons on desanitizing the lua io,os, lfs and require functions. In the new version make sure the path to your DCS is edited in the second trigger. If you aren't sure what these do i recommend not to continue until you have weighed up the pros and cons.
Sounds fun and interesting but nothing is happening. I’ve tried the updated you posted but tried two time with mission running for 30 min each time and a unit never spawned.
De-sanitize the lua environments as per readme. I don't recommend anyone using it that doesn't know what that means I am afraid, its a tech demo that requires a level of comfort with scripted environments (or a full read of the docs and observing the dcs.log.)
OK before to use this miz file it's important to edit a line iine iin the ACE.lua file. Open the miz file with a compression/decompression software, normally I use 7z, open the file ACE.lua located in I10n/DEFAULT and change the line 33 like local folder = "E:\\Program Files\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World OpenBeta". I used my installation path. Save the file then it works.
Yeah, I tried that too. It is still a go. Checked the dcs.log and found this error. 2024-05-19 16:42:30.892 ERROR SCRIPTING (Main): Mission script error: [string "F:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Syria\Map\towns.lua"]:1: attempt to call global 'require' (a nil value) stack traceback: [C]: in function 'require' [string "F:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Syria\Map\towns.lua"]:1: in main chunk [C]: in function 'dofile' [string "C:\Users\sotg3\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\/~mis00007258.lua"]:206: in main chunk Working through it now.
You either need to desanitize the require function in your mission scripting, or update the miz from the ace.lua, as you said. I'm working on an update that creates a route from red to blue and vice versa, so in the next update I'll make sure I update the script int he miz.
@@thebgpikester really good work, it's a game changer. By the way the ground units engage eachother, no problem but the air units simply are flyng around and no CAS and air to air. I need to designate targets from F10 map.
@@thebgpikester thanks for the reply, I have desanitzed the MissionScripting.lua and updated the file path in the Ace.lua. Unfortunately, I have also tried to run it on three different PCs and still can't get it to work.
This looks interesting, but it needs a Caucasus demo miz. For the obvious reason that literally everyone has Caucasus. Either that or a more detailed setup tutorial.
Not sure what Discord channel you mean, if I've got one advertised here it will be out of date, but you should use the MOOSE discord for scripting related interests and mission making community. discord.gg/YXvPkK9S2V

Thank you for your work on this! This is going to be amazing (if I can get it to work)! I have high hopes for this.
It works but in this version no CAP and CAS missions
Its working for me.
Great stuff. Can’t wait to give it a go.
Question, why does it not work on Sinai?
This!! Need Sinai!!!
Sinai map is half finished and does not contain a towns.lua file in the terrain. There's no towns so the script can't scan! :(

Excellent work! Messed around with CHIEF before but never looked at STRATEGO.
I tried to run the mission but after 15 min (time accelerated 9x and not) but nothing happens
Same

Nice work!.. will definitely be trying this.

Nice! Will try it out
This looks great. Please show the list of scripts loaded in the mission editor. That will make it easier for others on how to get it going.
The miz provides that for you, no need to spend any time wondering.
Does it work on Kola?

@@Danguard63 I'll have a look this week. CAS might be down to detection. Air to air shouldn't be though...

@@thebgpikester Thanks mate! Awesome work on ACE!
Great Job!!

Unplug the Mic
But then you would know what's going on when you come here to watch it!
