It's obvious from the manager that they do this quite often. He wasn't even mad enough to say he was firing the employee. Conducting an investigation simply means, we want you to believe we care, but we aren't going to do anything about it.
tigergreg8 THE SAME SHIT THE POLICE SAYS WHEN THEY KILL SOMEONE..WE DO INVESTIGATION AND FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH TAKE YOU CAR TO BUY LUNCH? JAJAJA SO FUNNY
I can't believe all of these nasty comments against the woman. She has every right to be pissed off that someone drove her car without her permission. I don't think she went overboard at all.
MCWinterCraft do you expect mechanics to not eat lunch. Mechanics are people too. They need to eat. And they get screwed on their pay so if they are knocking out two birds with one stone. Test drive and get lunch. I think it’s perfectly fine. Now if he’s abusing the car in ANY way that’s a different discussion. THAT LADY IS S BITCH
Bat Man no he’s the Bitch he doesn’t have the right to drive her car and if he wants to eat he can take his own damn car or a coworkers car not a customers car I’d be pissed too if I saw a mechanic driving my car without my permission when work needs to be done on it
A technician should road test the vehicle around the block to verify there are no driveability issues, but in no way is he to stop for food or anything else.
Listen folks, just write down your mileage when you drop your car off anywhere! Then have them explain why there's 10 more miles driven on your car when all you needed was a oil change or new tires......if its a nice sports car, they are going to take it for a test drive, you can count on that!
I don't have any issue with a mechanic driving my car 10 miles after working on it. That's a GOOD thing. They can check for leaks or issues caused by or revealed by their work if they test drive my car. I'd rather they discover the oil plug wasn't tightened enough during a test drive that they can tow back for free than me to drive it off and find out halfway home. If they put 50 miles on the car, I'd need a good explanation to justify that.
Zero reason you need a test drive to test for oil drain plug leaks. If you believe that, then I got a $50/lifetime service plan for your blinker fluid system.
i worked in automotive for 7 years i can tell you this is almost a weekly if not daily occurrence depending on the shop EDIT: this comment got more attention than i expected. just want to clarify ive never seen a mechanic take a customers car to a drive through. But "test drives" were done frequently.
jeremysev same way back when I worked as general service technician (fancy way of saying oil changer lol) one of the mechanics had me take a customer's car to drop off his cousin to his house. In the back of my mind I thought wtf this can't be within company policy or even legal but being the naive careless kid I was I did it anyway. I'm lucky I didn't get caught or have an accident lol
Lmao tru we do this shit weekly too, it's my 3rd year. But we test drive cars all the time and when we finish a car and need to test drive and it's around 12 or 1, we test drive it to go get food or somethin . Killin 2 birds with one stone lol
what do you meaaan we test drive EVERY car that comes in. UNLESS it has known driveablity issues. you need to know the state of the car , test it , make sure its not a lump of shit before you put your name on it. sure you can do a LOT of it on the hoist but what if it pulls to a side? or make a bad noise at higher speeds. we get in shit if we dont test drive the cars before they come into the shop
jeremysev that just happpened to me, mechanic didn't realized that my car has a dashcam, after my car was done he took one customer home and the lady even asked who the car belonged to and he responded saying it was his friend's car. The worst part is that after dropping her off he revved up the engine like crazy. I am furious and they will have a piece of my mind tomorrow!
I was thinking the same thing!!!! I would have told him to get the fuck out of my car or I'm calling the cops. And I'd drive it back to the dealership to give management a fucking talking to and then get some lawyers on the phone.
Bernita Killgore ..,, lol.. I laugh reading some of the comments saying he was lucky it was a girl who caught him! I'm thinking.. I know a few " Girls" who would have this douche crawling on his knees back to he dealership ,holding on to what was left of his tiny little nuts, as they would have kicked them into his throat & then proceeded to punch him in the face & kick him when he's down. 😂 I think I would have done the same as you.. & then had a talk with his boss, making sure he didn't have a job to come back to.
I was thinking the same thing when he started to back up the car. I would have got him out of the car and drove it back like WTF man you expect me to pay for him driving my car around
This shit happens all the time. Back in the early 80's a GM dealership in Edmonton Alberta got caught red handed taking my fathers 78' Silver Anniversary Corvette on a road trip to Banff. My father went on friday to pick it up as the dealers staff phoned him to let him know the car was ready. The manager did not tell the staff that he was taking it that afternoon on a trip with his girlfriend. My dad shows up to get the car and they tell my dad that he already picked it up. lol Needless to say the cops get brought in because no one at dealership knows where it is. Sunday the car shows up mysteriously parked 2 blocks from the dealer. The manager and his girlfreind did not clean out the interior good enough and forgot a couple of personal items in the car which the police used to convict the manager.
The exact same thing happened to my friend. He took her car, ruined it. She ended up getting her money back, car fixed on top of what else was supposed to be done- and free oil changes for life. And the guy was fired and arrested
Lol you idiots all mechanics carry the dealers insurance card. As long as the car has an open repair order on it. He can test drive that car if he wants. If he’s hungry you should be happy to provide the transportation for your tech to keep him fat and happy so he does a good job on your car😀
I had an electrician come to my house to do some repairs. I went for a walk, came back and he was raiding the fridge and pantries, I asked him what the hell he was doing and he said he was just testing the house out! He grabbed a plate of cookies, sat down in my recliner and turned on the TV. None of this really happened. I'm just putting it into perspective of how infuriating in can be when someone uses another person's property without their permission...Especially when that someone is supposed to perform a service.
This happens at the dealerships. Sometimes they don't have the time to test drive them. My car is serviced at Audi and the service guy admits that they would do that sometimes. The plus side is that they give me a loaner free of charge and I get to test drive their new cars aswell. BTW the only downside is it gets any scratches or accidents, that's why you have to take pictures before you leave your car and you have to check your car before you take it back.
I'm glad the owner of the shop is conducting a thorough investigation. They need to get to the bottom of who forced that mechanic into that car and made him take it for a ride.
this happened to me, just bought a new Z/28 and had it to the dealership, and came back and seen some kid doing burnouts on gravel !!! after seeing this, all i can say is that he had a very bad day.
Pyroman / LMAO.. If you're using Jiffy Lube as a respectable "industry standard" when it comes to servicing the AC or anything outside of a basic oil change, YOU'RE the "dumbdumb".
You're the smartest. This lady is a bitch she probably didnt even pay the loan on this car I have a 2016 MB c63 which I love to drive every moment sometime when I go to pick up lunch my boss ask me to take a stinky ass car to test drive while picking up the food
This happened to me about a week ago. I dropped off my car at body shop to get a grill installed. I walked to a nearby restaurant to wait for my ride and as I’m sitting there waiting I look out the window and I see my car drive by.
Back story is she was going to have the car repossessed. She saw the opportunity & made the whole incident MUCH bigger than it should have been so that the dealership would compensate her. The compensation was that Montebello Chevrolet ended up paying the car off. She still ended up blasting the crap out of all dealerships/service techs including Montebello in numerous interviews. Don't believe me? Just ask a someone in service that works there when they are not at work.
Omg you guys don't even know anything. I'm a mechanic myself and do people cars. When we do anything with the car we will test drive it before calling the owner to pick up the car
I can one up this story, I brought my car in for a oil change. I sit down in the lobby. Get some coffee, but took them more than 30min. So I asked " does it really take that long to do a oil change" they responded "sorry sir, please be patient" Now comes the cool part, my car has a gps tracker. So after 40 min I open my cars app. And guess what? My car was 5 miles away from where I was sitting. They where getting food with it at the Jimmy John's. I waited and ask for the highest manager they had on duty. Showed him what was going on, he called those guys and got them back in. Not sure what happened after that. But I do know this, I am glad i had gps or I would have never known. It's ridiculous how disrespectful that is.
I work in a Dealer and this happens all the time trust me you bring your car in to get it fixed how else would we know if its fixed ? We have to drive it , sometimes we dont get the chance to test drive the car cause of how busy we are so sometimes during lunch we can actually go and test drive the car by going to a drive thru or getting lunch. Hey there’s nothing wrong with that. DRIVNG IT FAST AND BEATING ON IT yes i can agree.
It’s a dealer of course we do we have them sign a sheet saying we have to test drive the vehicle we have a Mileage in and mileage out written so they know how much miles we put in there vehicle
And you think it's totally normal for a test drive to pick up fast food? That is incredibly disrespectful, food stinks up a vehicle. What if the bag is greasy and it gets grease on the car seat? There is absolutely no excuse for taking a car through a drive-thru when you are supposed to be doing a test drive.
What if the car was having issues in bumper to bumper traffic conditions, drive thru cam perfectly simulate that condition. And as for the food, smell can be fixed by rolling windows down and idk where you find fast food bags leaking grease to the point where it would stain the seat
He still works there. Owner did not fire him. Cause he is a hard worker they only change his name on his uniform to keep him. I know techs that work there and I seen him. He only do oil changes not a full tech.
When I worked at the dealership we did this all the time. We didn't drive like asshats, but if a car needed a test drive it was going for a long one. The shop supervisor would take customer cars for a test drive home at night and bring it back the next day like it was a rental.
i was an auto mechanic for 32 years and this shit happens all the time.i did not do it myself because i wanted to keep my job.but i had seen guys at my shop do this and a few got fired because they were either caught by the customer or had an accident with the customers car
Luke Walker hmm im a mechanic in sweden in a Volkswagen dealership, IF i do a service on a car with a oil change i have to test drive it for at least 2km, i dont know about you in america but here in sweden its like a part of the service,
Hampus Ragnarsson I didnt know they did that, I get running the engine to cycle the oil through the new filter but do you really need to go 2km? When I change my own oil I just let the engine run for a bit.
From working at a dealership, we do often take cars on drives after performing maintenance to see if check engine light comes back on or if the problem consists. Not saying this is the case, but its not always “joy rides”.
Funny thing is that the real story behind this is that he wasn't getting lunch for himself.. I'm pretty sure it was the managers lunch time and he sent his worker to get it for him.. But of course the manager will cover his own butt on this one being that he's getting recorded.. Shit, I would too 😂 Manager :Sorry Pedro, but you taking the fault this time 🤔😢😭.. Pedro : "But Señor manager you told me to get you lunch" Manager : you still want to work here? Pedro :🤔 si señor Manager :then shut up 🤐
Honestly as long as they did not cause any mechanical, body damage, and my car was clean inside and out.. I really wouldn't care. Its an expensive sports car that not everyone can afford. I love sharing my passion of cars with other people. You fixed my car and did a good job doing it? I couldn't care any less if you took my car to get lunch for you and the guys at the shop Always maintain a good relationship with your mechanic(s).
This is more common than you think. Bro when I worked at the dealer we would take all the vettes out. Our shop Forman would test drive the cars for hours and most of the time we all knew he was sleeping in the back of a target close by with the a/c full blast. True story guys, any shop you go to does this.
All mechanics do this it’s no big mystery. Over 15 years ago I took my brand new Cadillac sedan deville to a mechanic to get fixed and the mechanics son took it on a date with his girlfriend and even left open condom wrappers in the back of my car. It happens a lot
Mine doesn’t. I have secretly watched them at times and they still do the work honestly. I’ve gone there for a long time so I trust them. I even can pop in at very random times. Now I don’t have to because I’ve seen how honest they do their job even though it’s a little slow. Mechanics like them are rare.
Finding a repair shop that will fix your car and return it in one piece is a gift from god I have a corvette 30 years old everyone wants to drive it like its stolen write your miles down and video your car inside and out look for switched out parts
UGONZ nigga get the fuck outta here with that butt hurt ass shit. A dumbass defending a dumbass. People like you who try to start shit but don't even know how to finish it but say more shit. Feel free to waste more of your "time". Cause I'm not. I'm out.
No need for A TEST DRIVE after oil change BUT any repairs to the engine or drivetrain. Yes. ALSO some diagnosis is done WHILE DRIVING A CAR. people don't understand.
The mechanic has to test drive after the repair and I as a customer do not care if the mechanic goes through a drive thu for food. A joy ride is considered speeding, running red lights, doing doughnuts etc.
Honestly if you dont want your mechanic driving your car learn to fix it yourself. I'm not mad at seeing my mechanic in my car at the drive thru. Hell they have to eat too. I just know if he's getting food I can meet him back at the shop and hes done with his test drive. Change my breaks fix my air conditioning you better make sure it works.
Mechanics always take cars for a test drive! So he decided to pick up coffee on the way. Hell, my brother in law was a mechanic for the fire department and when he finished a job he had to get the whole fire crew on the truck so he could take for a test drive. And this is especially true for high end vehicles. HE'S JUST DOING HIS JOB.
I took my car in to get inspection for re-registration, they said headlamp not working, so i went out opened the bonnet found light out, cover on light unit sitting on sub frame, they said they never opened the bonnet which is required they do as per inspection, they wanted to charge me for a new bulb, which was put mine back in and charge me, their were several confrontations, they had to call the police on me, they got what was coming to them and it has not been forgotten.
bullshit dealerships take private cars more times than you know and body shops even more so. i've worked for both and if no car is available like the shop truck or the bosses car then they take what's there.
exactly. if people only knew! And they don't realize its insured by the shop who has possession of the car so if anything happens, they're responsible...no biggie!
That's why I've always pointed out quite loudly how many miles my car has, when i've gone to get it fixed. So unless they've fucked with my odometer, I've never dealt with this issue.
I have actually seen this happen. I worked at a Chrysler dealership and one of the lube techs was supposed to change the oil in a Challenger Hellcat. He took the car on a joyride when he was done. The owner of the vehicle seen the tech leave the property with it. The tech was written up and suspended for the incident.
I test drive cars constantly, to go get food, to the grocery store or wherever and what ever I need to do at the time. Most repair failures happen right after the repairs were made. I'd rather get caught test driving then have a car have a failure after the repair. This last is a bitch, she'd get kicked out of my shop and never be allowed to return. Just let the man do his job and you would have never noticed that anything was wrong once you got it back. Customers are ignorant
@@nicholasrodriguez2312 no joke, I'm actually in midland texas right now repairing vehicle that I worked in 6 months ago and the repair didn't last, drove 10 hours to come fix it right this time. A long and thorough test drive could have prevented this. But it is a 50 ton crane truck, so I wasnt in the Mood to take a crane truck to Burger King.
Make sure you take a photo of the miles before leaving your car with any mechanic. (Make sure you tell the company you are doing this, and you will take the necessary legal action if there are any additional miles.)
I have an idea, work on your own car. If you don’t have access to tools, how hard is it to watch your car for 20 minuets at a jiffy lube to make sure they do the job correctly
If you PAY for someone to do their JOB, they should do their job. If she's paying for a service from her own money, that services should be expected to be completed in a respectful manner.
The last thing I want to do is change oil on anything. Yes I know how to do it, yes I’ve done it a million times, but I’m too old and have too much money to have to deal with that shit anymore.
EBShitbird then go to jiffy lube and watch them do it. It’s not hard since you have so much free time and money. I am only 19 and I need to save as much as possible.
Jake Fejer Here’s the thing, when you buy a brand new car you usually get a certain amount of free oil changes. Also, dealers are generally more thorough in their inspections, and if you get all of your services done at the dealership when you go to sell or trade in you have a very comprehensive record of service. Whatever your reason is for going to a dealership, though, does not negate the fact that you should never have to worry about someone joy riding your whip. I understand you’re really proud of yourself for knowing how to change oil, which is awesome, and that you’re young and need to save money, that’s super respectable too, but a lot of people don’t or aren’t those people should never have to trip about someone essentially stealing their car.
It may be "against your company policy" but tell me that the entire shop was not aware that the car is being taken out when it shouldn't have? Lady should have demanded he get out and called the police to report a stolen vehicle if he didn't. Hell with that kind of car I might report it stolen first. The police can ask why the employee has taken the car.
Husband probably bought it because it looked better to look at then the wife? I can see the husband on the driver side giving the mechanic 2 thumbs up while the monster was changing shapes yelling.
Im not saying that the women is wrong she is right to be mad.. but man your comment is too funny jajaja i think the husband bought her the car 'cause she caught him with the sancha jajajaja
n8tiveskillz you are a COMPLETE jack###!!!! Check out MY pretty 5.0 and know that I paid CASH for it!!! No little pecky required!!! In my life I've found that too many men want sugar mommies-had I stayed married there is no way I.could have afforded the down payment much less paying without a loan!,!
Actually, I have worked.full time all my adult line-Up did divorce -18yrs ago and we had nothing of value! I have a portion of each paycheck DIRECTLY sent to investment co. When need arises I make a call and.stock is sold and Presto-I buy! No bjs needed....sorry to disappoint u
this shit happens everywhere; fucking mechanics should concentrate on their quality service instead of joy riding and getting food. Its just lucky that she spotted her car, which is a limited edition which would be easy to spot; the fuck should be changed with something, cause she does not pay them to drive other peoples cars so they can look cool and ad status to themselves for like 20 minutes.....when a car like that shows up, you can bet your ass someone will atleast think about taking it out or will actually take it out for a drive
I don't blame the woman there are 200 of these cars limited edition would you let some stranger drive your special car? Especially driving it to a fast-food restaurant.
Sorry but like it or not, this is part and parcel of a car service. Take it out for a drive to make sure everything is ok. Sometimes they may blend it in with an errand and take it further than normal. What if this longer drive uncovers a fault that prevents disaster down the track? This owner's carry on is asking for an accidental selection of reverse whilst driving back.
It’s conversion, legally if the mechanic takes the car for more than a test to make sure it’s repaired, it’s legally called conversion”” and the mechanic now owes the owner more than the value of the car. It’s OUTRAGEOUS that someone would do that and not the first vid I’ve seen of this happening. If you have a sweet ride make sure you have a dash cam recording. Activate Valet mode. Etc.
Jesus they are over reacting over this sometimes when you fixing a car and you want to make sure it works before anything and sometimes you get a little so you buy food
It's obvious from the manager that they do this quite often. He wasn't even mad enough to say he was firing the employee. Conducting an investigation simply means, we want you to believe we care, but we aren't going to do anything about it.
tigergreg8 I would of called the cops at the point and get them arrested
Damn straight
Shutcho cry bby ass bro... Probably don't even own a vehicle

no need to test drive a car for just an oil change
Yeah test drive for an oil change LOL So Jiffy Lube can do that in front of you haha !!!!!
You wouldn't be upset if your employee stopped off to get fast food though? Extremely disrespectful to your customers. Burgers stink up a vehicle.
Yes you do
A technician should road test the vehicle around the block to verify there are no driveability issues, but in no way is he to stop for food or anything else.
ok but getting food in a car that not your come on man for real

oil changes and, tire rotations, and new tires definitely do not require a "test drive"

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle is what it's called it's a misdemeanor dummy... stop playing video games and learn something.lmao
chevy Gta 5 or Gta IV
Grand chevy auto
I hope she sues the dealership. That is disgusting.
Must be nice to be rich.
I'm glad the owner of the shop is conducting a thorough investigation. They need to get to the bottom of who forced that mechanic into that car and made him take it for a ride.
Complacency and complicity from the top down at this dealership. The owner should lose his business license.
this happened to me, just bought a new Z/28 and had it to the dealership, and came back and seen some kid doing burnouts on gravel !!! after seeing this, all i can say is that he had a very bad day.
What if he was acutally test driving it and then his manager told him to get food?
That can be done in your own car but not in the car of a customer. It is not their car and they should not take the car off the dealership property
Lol it happens all the time
Pyroman / LMAO..
People should learn to change oil if you have a car you should learn
Keep the receipts,
sobroko 78 not everyone has time or cares. If you got money, let other people do it.
R L I keep a binder with all of the receipts and mileage the service was done at :)
Shyzah right
Common sense
Changing oil is not complicated
Most people bring it in due to laziness or simply not having the time or patience.
Fucking Honda Dealer in Temecula left our oil level very low after a supposed oil change !!
This is why I’m not trusting ANY mechanic!
This happened to me about a week ago. I dropped off my car at body shop to get a grill installed. I walked to a nearby restaurant to wait for my ride and as I’m sitting there waiting I look out the window and I see my car drive by.
She said the a/c was serviced, does that not justify a test drive?
Back story is she was going to have the car repossessed. She saw the opportunity & made the whole incident MUCH bigger than it should have been so that the dealership would compensate her. The compensation was that Montebello Chevrolet ended up paying the car off. She still ended up blasting the crap out of all dealerships/service techs including Montebello in numerous interviews. Don't believe me? Just ask a someone in service that works there when they are not at work.

ALWAYS check milage and write it down. Take a picture of the milage as well.
Get a dashcam!
“We are conducting a thorough investigation “ 😂 like what you are you coming up with an excuse as a team ?
Call the cops and tell them it's stolen
William Wilkerson yea so that can be on the title! Insurance companies would go bonkers too
No that's fucked up
that's not how it works she signed her car of to him he would've test drove it anyway she's just mad that she caught him
Omg you guys don't even know anything. I'm a mechanic myself and do people cars. When we do anything with the car we will test drive it before calling the owner to pick up the car
@@-slurmdaddy-8147 that’s how it works? Talk about a hole in the justice system.
she was mad because he didn't take her with him to get food
Worse still, there was food in her car and she was not entitled to it.
She probably tried blackmailing him for a burger before recording,
😂😂
Ooh a fat joke. How edgy.
Lmfao
😂😂
I can one up this story, I brought my car in for a oil change. I sit down in the lobby. Get some coffee, but took them more than 30min.
So I asked " does it really take that long to do a oil change" they responded "sorry sir, please be patient"
Now comes the cool part, my car has a gps tracker.
I’m pretty sure oil changes do take more than half an hour
This poor lady..she is even on dialysis as you can see the dressing on her right chest....bastard shouldn't do that
They lady should say get out of my car and walk because I’m going to drive my car!
Deucetrinal -
Clearly you've never been a mechanic....
What if the car was having issues in bumper to bumper traffic conditions, drive thru cam perfectly simulate that condition. And as for the food, smell can be fixed by rolling windows down and idk where you find fast food bags leaking grease to the point where it would stain the seat
Dude ur a moron. I wouldn't trust you to fix my car. U must be that guy???
He still works there. Owner did not fire him. Cause he is a hard worker they only change his name on his uniform to keep him. I know techs that work there and I seen him. He only do oil changes not a full tech.
When I worked at the dealership we did this all the time. We didn't drive like asshats, but if a car needed a test drive it was going for a long one. The shop supervisor would take customer cars for a test drive home at night and bring it back the next day like it was a rental.
Going to a restaurant or your home isn't a test drive
i was an auto mechanic for 32 years and this shit happens all the time.i did not do it myself because i wanted to keep my job.but i had seen guys at my shop do this and a few got fired because they were either caught by the customer or had an accident with the customers car
I was just checking my service reciepts and noticed they put on 2 km while they were changing my oil. Suspicious...
Hampus Ragnarsson ...
An oil change does NOT require a test drive anywhere in the world.
Trust me... you think im test drivning a 3 cylinder VW up for fun? We have to test drive 2km then check for Any leaks
3 cylinder?
From working at a dealership, we do often take cars on drives after performing maintenance to see if check engine light comes back on or if the problem consists. Not saying this is the case, but its not always “joy rides”.
Right
“...and change the air conditioner.”
Maybe she meant “replace”
This has been happening for years without Dash Cams. One in a while people are able to catch them. It is just getting worst in the US.
you dont even need a dashcam. just record the odometer reading and you will know if it has been driven.
Funny thing is that the real story behind this is that he wasn't getting lunch for himself..
I'm pretty sure it was the managers lunch time and he sent his worker to get it for him.. But of course the manager will cover his own butt on this one being that he's getting recorded.. Shit, I would too 😂
Manager :Sorry Pedro, but you taking the fault this time 🤔😢😭..
Pedro : "But Señor manager you told me to get you lunch"
Manager : you still want to work here?
Pedro :🤔 si señor
Manager :then shut up 🤐
Such a rare occasion. Yet how many videos are there on RUclips of this kind of thing?

The Eye of the Liger you’re right, they’re horrible. Lmfao fuck outta here with that
Nice PR speech Mr Owner. What needs investigation? The video is right there. There isn't a good reason to take a customers car to get burgers.
“You’re getting nervous.”
Complacency and complicity from the top down at this dealership. The owner should lose his business license.
True but it also depends how much the customer cares for the car
I got an advertisement with two mechanics talking about back pain. how appropriate
He looked better driving it then her. 😆
Like who's she trying to impress, Men get cars to get the honey's. That lady is a damn cow, driving something that's meant for a wolf.
Hahahaha

Finding a repair shop that will fix your car and return it in one piece is a gift from god I have a corvette 30 years old everyone wants to drive it like its stolen write your miles down and video your car inside and out look for switched out parts
Why she didn't call the police??
UGONZ it is ...it's her car !!! He took the car without his supervisor // owner permission.

Nickhead87 I'm sorry .. it though it was for me!!! ..I apologized for that taking all back....
write down or take a picture of the mileage and let them know you are going to do it.
Someone lost their job.
The dumbass didn't lose his job. He was reprimanded
Well you sign away your right for your car when you do this read the contract to see if they are allowed
No need for A TEST DRIVE after oil change BUT any repairs to the engine or drivetrain. Yes. ALSO some diagnosis is done WHILE DRIVING A CAR. people don't understand.
Update: This mechanic has been promoted and now test drives all the new proto type Indy 500 Pace Cars! well done, sir!

The mechanic has to test drive after the repair and I as a customer do not care if the mechanic goes through a drive thu for food. A joy ride is considered speeding, running red lights, doing doughnuts etc.
The real crime is how she recorded it
Honestly if you dont want your mechanic driving your car learn to fix it yourself.
All he had to do was get customer permission first
I took my car in to get inspection for re-registration, they said headlamp not working, so i went out opened the bonnet found light out, cover on light unit sitting on sub frame, they said they never opened the bonnet which is required they do as per inspection, they wanted to charge me for a new bulb, which was put mine back in and charge me, their were several confrontations, they had to call the police on me, they got what was coming to them and it has not been forgotten.
bullshit dealerships take private cars more times than you know and body shops even more so. i've worked for both and if no car is available like the shop truck or the bosses car then they take what's there.
exactly. if people only knew! And they don't realize its insured by the shop who has possession of the car so if anything happens, they're responsible...no biggie!
Unless it's a minivan sit and wait.
That's why I've always pointed out quite loudly how many miles my car has, when i've gone to get it fixed.
So unless they've fucked with my odometer, I've never dealt with this issue.
Maybe in an emergency I’d be okay with it, like someone having a family member die or something
It’s been 3 years and I still don’t know if this is a joke or not😅
@@nicholasrodriguez2312 no joke, I'm actually in midland texas right now repairing vehicle that I worked in 6 months ago and the repair didn't last, drove 10 hours to come fix it right this time. A long and thorough test drive could have prevented this. But it is a 50 ton crane truck, so I wasnt in the Mood to take a crane truck to Burger King.
Being a limited production car, it was EASY to spot.
It’s just his luck that the lady with the most annoying voice and accent was the owner.
easleyrider
Yup
An oil change is less than an hour. AC filter...20 minutes. Why did you leave the dealership??
Sometimes you gotta take the car for a test drive to make sure they fixed the part or the customer could take off in a still broken vehicle..
Yes but it is unprofessional to go to get some food with someone else’s car when he could have just rode it around for a few minutes.
Nick. It was an Oil Change and A C Service. You DO NOT NEED to take a test drive
Thomas Hopkins yeah you’re right no need for a test drive if it’s an ac an oil change service
Make sure you take a photo of the miles before leaving your car with any mechanic. (Make sure you tell the company you are doing this, and you will take the necessary legal action if there are any additional miles.)
And get a dash cam
If the mileage increases by 1 or 2 it could just be them having to move it around the shop so especially
WallyWaldo what you said is all true but it’s good to have simple skills to work on your car
'Changing shapes' hahaha
Im not saying that the women is wrong she is right to be mad.. but man your comment is too funny jajaja i think the husband bought her the car 'cause she caught him with the sancha jajajaja

Instead of asking him why this, why that, why don't you just tell him to put the vehicle in park and get?
Air conditioning changed??? 😂
could have need to be charged up or changed out moving parts don't last for ever
Probably AC compressor?
Maybe meant thermostat
i HATE that the owner had to apologize for something he didn’t even do
this shit happens everywhere; fucking mechanics should concentrate on their quality service instead of joy riding and getting food.
He should have said "sorry no inglés" works everytime.....unless they speak spanish, then its plan B(slowly pulls away while keeping eye contact)😂😂
LOL you getting me nervous LMAO.
That's East LA talk.
I worked in the automotive industry for 5 years, this was a norm for mechanics and techs because the owner was never near
Cus only she can get burgers
😂😂
I don't blame the woman there are 200 of these cars limited edition would you let some stranger drive your special car? Especially driving it to a fast-food restaurant.
He just wanted to play out his fantasy in hopes of picking up a hottie... she was hot alright!!
Cheezy joke otr tho
Sorry but like it or not, this is part and parcel of a car service. Take it out for a drive to make sure everything is ok. Sometimes they may blend it in with an errand and take it further than normal. What if this longer drive uncovers a fault that prevents disaster down the track? This owner's carry on is asking for an accidental selection of reverse whilst driving back.
Maybe but they better not crash it
Lol you know that's probably his friend
Duh. The technician probably has a lot of dirt on the owner, too.
I hope u did something about this because my dad owns a mechanic business and he would fire that person instantly
He's driving the car to test it out cx
If u don't drive the car how the hell are you supposed to know if everything works properly 😂
Like I said earlier, YO DO NOT NEED A TEST DRIVE for an oil change and A C Service
Etc.
Jesus they are over reacting over this sometimes when you fixing a car and you want to make sure it works before anything and sometimes you get a little so you buy food
for an oil change? really i am done with people
And the AC
This is not acceptable. Mechanics get breaks. Go on your own gas, not the customers.
How would he explain the extra millage on the clock?
