Never, never quit. No matter what. Hats off to these men. They are real men.
My dad and I finished the game as a kid. He freaked out watching this video at the end because he saw one of his best friends in this buds training video!
His best friend didn't tell him he was going into Unclassified training?
@@bobkin611 this was before he knew him. My father did business with him for years after.
Watched this like 3 times a day as a kid. I'm 17 now and got it almost word for word still. I plan on joining after high school to become a seal!
You must have no fear. Good Luck.
@@christophercardono6274 I love fear. It gives me fuel to strive
@RB1529 hooooyah
GOD bless you
so.... update?
I worked with a couple older sailors from UDT . Even in there 70' s they were working harder than the young guys on the construction crews . These men taught me a lot when I was a kid . They were bad ass mofo's. Thank you very much for all you've done .
This game is worth it for the documentary alone.
All you have to do is ask a Navy Recuiter for it they have it on DVD.
@@Texasmilitarydepartmentvid9654 lol
@@Texasmilitarydepartmentvid9654 I love your confederate flag, from an Indian.
Still one of the most realistic games ever
Agree 👍
THIS IS PEOPLE WHO CREATE HISTORY LONG BEFORE IT HAPPENS...TOUGH PEOPLE!!!!!!
I watched this many times as a kid, hoping one day I could be just like those guys.
Vanilla Quake. If it turned out anything like it did for me,you come to realize a little later in life that all men are not created equal.
I have nothing but the utmost respect for anyone who can hold out&make it into any of our elite special forces.
I'm with slowbuilder. I wish that I could have had the balls to go through what these guys go through when I was in boot camp at great lakes. But I think the biggest reason I didn't do it was because I just realized that not only did I not have those balls but I also was so skinny and had absolutely no muscles that I just didn't want to start something that I knew I could never finish!!!
I'm only 14 but ever since I found out about the SEALs when I was 10, I made my life goal to be one. If I have the same motivation that I have now when I'm 18, I'll definitely sign up for BUDS. And my motivation is honor and respect for my grandparents that served, how amazing the job is in general, and another thing is, I can imagine ringing that bell to quit is deffinitely more painful than what you have to endure at BUDS.
@@turdferguson2961 Thanks, I'll look into all of these ideas.
Aaron Burkhardt you’re too young right now so obviously consider this a long term goal, and all those strong ideals you have now will fade off as you get into your 20s, and this is NOT a bad thing, you will simply find different/more mature reasons for joining other than “honor” lol forget that Hollywood bullshit my dude...some valuable advice: go to college, or get a job after high school. Train your body up for an extra year or two, become a responsible adult first and Join the navy at 22-23 with maturity, that’s the type of guy who goes (and passes BUD/S) it’s not so much about honor and ego, a green beret colonel once told me that your WHY has to be bigger than yourself or you’ll never make it. That’s why maturity is so important, as an adult you have responsibilities and you begin to look at your family who raised you with much more gratitude than when you’re a minor. You have to be a protector and a servant. Learn leadership, date some women. Experience some failures and struggles first. All of that life experience you can get will make you a great candidate one day. I don’t think I truly understood what it meant to be a man until I was 22. So don’t be in a hurry is my biggest advice. Stew Smith, Jeff Nichols, all these guys will say the same thing. Good luck buddy
This game made Navy SEALs look way cooler than they already are.
I'm so proud of our military! Salute each and every one of you!!
Amen 🙏
Becoming one is one thing, but doing that job for 20+ years as your body ages is a whole another level of insanity.
Some are so haunted that they keep going back to the fighting. It’s unique and only way to understand it is experiencing death at any moment
This is transparent and effective (and not misleading) propaganda, I was hooked.
Ah the ole SOCOM 1 intro....Outstanding
Amen
Love our boys. Makes me glad to be on the U.S. side. Can you imagine the anxiety felt, knowing these guys are coming after you.
Dont forget that Tommy Norris also won the CMOH and those two are the only example where one winner saved the life of another winner
I dont think they are referred to as "winners". They are recipients of the MOH.
AH, the memories. Great game. I thought there was nothing cooler than issuing orders with the headset. Always play on Admiral!
Navy Seals are the absolute bad asses of our awesome military, so much respect for these amazing patriotic Americans!!
Nah.

British sas
You have no idea how long I've been looking for this.
Until 2002 when they left MSGT Dave Chapman an Air Force Forward Controller. Though not a SEAL he was certainly a teammate. He finally received his well-deserved MOH after a 16yr fight because the Navy had already wanted to give a controversial MOH to the SEAL team leader 2mo earlier upgrading his Navy Cross.
In 2017 the first female attempted BUD's training & quit week 1. In 2019 the first female naval officer completed SOAS but opted out of BUD's training. In 2021 the NSW graduated its first female as a SWCC boat crewman.
Buds is just 1 phase of SEAL training. It takes up to 2,5yrs to train a SEAL for their 1st deployment .
Yup what happened to MSGT Dave Chapman was a real disgrace. The navy knew those seals left a man behind but didn’t wanna admit it. If MSGT Dave Chapman got his MEDAL of HONOR then it would prove on paper that navy seals left him behind to die. Which they did. Recent video footage released form the fight shows what happened. The navy tried blocking his MOH for years. Finally, MSGT Dave Chapman got his well earned MOH but the navy bitched so much that the navy seal on that mission received one also. But he didn’t earn it.
Seals are great usually, true hero’s. But like any other profession, there can be scumbags within. And recent years shows the seal community doing some messed up shit
@@johncaldwelljr.9671 I don't know all the facts to say he earned it or not. I just know as a Navy veteran it's embarrassing how Chapmans MOH case was handled.
And even with nearly 3 years of training they still lost in Afghanistan. Hahaha!
I must’ve watched this documentary religiously when I had the game
What game
yup logged on my ps2 and watch this before doing campaign missions
Me too now that i think of it!!

Amidst a series of seriously wounded and injured patients in my assigned Casualty Receiving Station and their subsequent inpatient care, I had the pleasure to getting to know LT Erskine. Along with one of his Team members, the LT impressed me with his unfailing concern for his fellow wounded SEALS and the hunger to get back in the fight in spite of his/their injuries.
"It all slows down", when the shit hits the fan....very true. All your senses get sharper; you can almost see in the dark and hear a mouse fart.
The memories of my favorite video game Socom Navy SEALs I love being a Navy Seal warrior patriot commander in the game and kick a lot of ass complete the missions weapons training and teamwork
Mike Thorton had a second person with him. A south VN interpreter that was shot up too. Swam out with two people.
I think the second south Vietnamese Soldier that was basicly trained by the seal and fought along side of seal the hole time in county nasty was on Mike's back and had shrapnel in his back and he was shot in the calf also and then the South Vietnamese Soldier also wounded was hanging on the front of mike's chest all 3 wounded well that what Jim patches Watson had told me like PRU prevention reconnaissance units now this incident happened in 73 and they was advisors seals Green Berets up to 1975 that what I was told RIP JIM BUDS CLASS 23 you well be missed but never forgotten and that is something being a Seal is rare enough but 2# SEALS to get the Medal of Honor on the same mission NOW THAT RARE wow !!!!
And let's not forget Tom Norris.
The only easy day was yesterday .
If I can go back in, I would try out EOD but always have and always will respect SEAL's community. .
We went out to visit some of my family in California they live a few miles from where the seals train . That was really neat to see them in training. Thank you to all that have kept us safe .
I am a US Navy Seal on PS3!
How was the training?it's very cruel right?
Thank you so much U.S. Navy SEALs, the rest of the men and women in our armed forces and our first responders. You go out there and risk your lives just so that we can enjoy the lifestyle that we live today and the freedoms that we have!! 👍👍😎😎
1st Airborne Ranger Co Korea
Either I need a time machine to go back in time to where I’m 16 years old or in my next lifetime I will be a Navy seal I will never forget what this game has taught me
Talking about the Spick, whatever kind of boat, I like the M-80 Stiletto, a pentahull (5 hulls), shallow draft, I think 2', which it's a big ship for that. A helicopter can land on it, travel around 60 knots, where it'd be nice if there were a model at the Hobby store. It'd also be nice to see one up close out of the water.
The closest boat out there is the JetCraft line. Unbelievable handling on water n can stop on a dime if you're strapped in good. That can be deadly, so no hero's. You can stay static position in fast currents with practice. I've seen these boats land on top of boulders n get dragged back into the water n off they go. They handle veryyy differently, get experienced n go safely. The best family boat for families n 3 big dogs.
Thank God for SEALS Godspeed to you
Amen 🙏 to that JESUS BLESS THEM ALL GLORY GLORY HALLELUJAH AMEN 🙏 HOO-YAH 🙏✝️❤️💚⭐️🇺🇸🌟🥛🇮🇱🇩🇪🤩😇

Yeah but you have to meet the standards also.

anthony rawhouser Cooperate America is depressing
I work in investment banking and I absolutely love it.
Just back stabbing and false promises is all I got out of cooperate America .
@@drewnielson6472 That's all you're going to get in this country, sadly.
Momma, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. Being a SEAL is dangerous and I pray for my shipmates As a young sailor I served them food and did PT with a "twin pinner". He was both a SEAL and EOD. He said that I was too smart to be a SEAL and persuaded me to choose a different course and I did. The training alone is deadly. I am not trying to discourage your kid from becoming a SEAL but the risks are very high that your kid will suffer if he attempts this life-style.
Nostalgia
Who switched the redio frequency men💔💔👍👍
One of the seals who is from one the Arabian country turned off the redio frequency to mislead wrong coma on the other hand advantage to the attackers it was hell of a movie(lone survivor)💔
Damn I remember this video so clearly. that game had a grip on me like not other game has. Absolutely loved it! would watch this before playing the game to get absolutely hyped.
I'm a Navy seal . I graduated from class 143 637
Dam on you Sony you killed this game, the new socom quit shitty.

The franchise needs a revival that goes back to the roots
Yes and be put on all main gaming platforms
There is no SOCOM anymore so therefore Ubisoft makes shitty Ghost Recon games since they don't have any competition anymore
@@venomsnakeYGBSM ghost recon is actually pretty awesome tbh - get it on pc
Watched this video so many times when i would play the game as a little kid
Thank You for protecting the Integrity of innocent lives. Simply the best.
I remember playing this game in 2002 when i was 15 years old and thinking maybe i could be a Navy SEAL and like so many i had many recruiters coming to my house of the time.
If any SEAL team or Special Ops show up and kick your door in. There’s noway you are coming out alive.
This looks like something the recruiting centre would play you to get you to sign up i got hooked in by one of these to join the army 🏴
Remember everyone deployed. God bless you all.
I didn't notice this was a tie-in to the game...then the intro music started, and I was like "Hey...I know that!"
Now I wanna go back and start going through all my old SOCOM games for PS2. A solid franchise that just kept getting better and better. Haven't messed with it much on PS3, though.
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: The greatest shooter of all time.
That guy Rob Roy was on Deadliest Warrior when the SEALs fought the Israeli Commandos.
He's also on the cover of Socom 2
I have this game kinda sucks that the socom navy seals series died off
I wanna see what Vietnam era buds was like
I can't believe you had the balls to say that.

Rewards. All of the animals do 3 hour contribution as well. Some have appointment books and some do trade labor. Always remember that everyone is watching. The taradactiles will offer exclusive commitments (3 hours of time per day) additional, aside from their appointment books. Some residents that came down, really did that, in hopes of getting and exclusive offer from a taradactile. Exclusive means 3 hours per day- they can be dissolved at any time from either committing party. Some exclusive commitments have length term, especially when it's a class. Shark surfing, the sharks are paired with a surfer, the class lasts for 3 months. The sharks participate in class in exchange for grooming. The sharks take the place of the board and you groom your shark the same as you would groom your board.

It’s amazing how the Vietnamese feared the Navy SEALs.
Yea but the United states lost in Vietnam 🤣🤣🤣
@@StarzzyJJASD If you want to bust balls USA saved the brits. I see your fascination with British SAS and they are extremely well trained. I am not into elitist bigots.
@@jasonhull2163 saved us how please enlighten me pal , if your referring to ww2 they u must be on crack because the yanks didnt come into the war untill the end the uk fought by them selves, just like in the falkland islands flew halfway across the world and spanked Argentina the British sea harrier shot down 29 Argentina french mirach planes without 1 loss off a sea harrier in air to air , also how did you yanks do in Vietnam I wait
@@StarzzyJJASD The moral of the story "pal" is UK received help from the USA. So I enlighten you on a word called "respect". Any man or woman who has served in a brotherhood of arms and faced combat doesn't go around making ludicrous statements about wars. It's easy to sit back and be a keyboard puncher and attempt to present yourself as some decorative figure. Assumptions are a down fall but I can almost bet you never had to dodge bullets. The British SAS are extremely well trained soldiers. The British SBS do not get the recognition they deserve and they too are a fantastic fighting force. I am not wasting my time or losing my brain cells going back forth with your keyboard warrior banter. You have no respect for any other country other than your own. I respect all European soldiers whom have served in war with us. We are done talking unless you can make a statement I deem valid that doesn't make me lose -10 to my IQ again from reading your elitist cry baby banter.
