The seal program is great for the navy, when someone joins, they either get a SEAL or a highly motivated paint chipper.

Hi, I’m a 22 year old woman and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. I’m a civilian and I want to go enlisted.
What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs? If you had to go to BUD/S again, how would you prepare differently? What books or workout programs would you recommend?
How does the SEAL community feel about women joining them? Do you think women should be allowed to become Navy SEALs?
Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course.

Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress fractures. Women have smaller and thinner bones than men.

But sometimes fate just snatches it because they did a color blind test and turns out I was partially color blind which means I couldn’t join. Ever since I get that news about my condition I was just sad because it’s something I’ve always looked up too because I wanted to reach higher. Always been a dream of mine to be in either a spec ops unit or special forces, don’t get me wrong Green Berets, 75 Ranger Regiment, MARSOC Raiders, are all badasses but there’s just something about the Navy Seals that make them seem more elite. Maybe it’s because of their speciality in underwater ops and their selection process having the highest wash out rate.

    • @nunyabiz7021

What about Delta, PJ's or CCT's? I've read about all of them having high, if not higher than SEAL washout rates and you do realize that other spec ops unit's are trained for maritime ops also, right? And on a personal note, I remember the phrase "silent professional" used to mean something, but too many current or former SEALS have traded their personal honor and integrity for a little fame and/or fortune, to a higher degree than others in spec ops.

At least I once proudly wore the uniform of an American Soldier. Too many people nowadays - usually the keyboard commandos - are only "I was gonna join the (insert branch here), but (insert excuse here), so I stayed civilian."

There’s no such thing as a “long range sniper gun”
The closest thing to a “long range sniper gun” is the M109 Howitzer or another Mobile Artillery, because a gun, is not a rifle.

@@BostonsF1nest It's likely the opposite. 20 percent mental, 80 percent physical. When you are there training they probably don't want you thinking too much since it could make you hate the program, your instructors and want to give up.

@@onetruekeeper I have not been through BUDS but from personal experience, everything is mental. Take a run and really push yourself. Once you get past where your body is physically comfortable it becomes all mental. Now not saying physical strength isn't apart of it. But as others have spoken from experience, the strongest ones don't always make it. But the ones with determination and the willingness do.
