"Why aren't we doing this in school" because these are physically fit mentally stable fully developed fully grown adult men who volunteer to do it, I haven't been to many normal schools that are comprised of that. Typically a school is full of a wide range of physicalities, mental states, most have girls and boys, and are comprised of teens who are still developing physically/emotionally/mentally. On top of the fact that normal kids shouldn't be made to go through intense physically and emotionally strenuous training against their will. Like if you want a totalitarian society where kids from a young age are forced into mentally and physically exhausting intensive training while still in their development and remove their choice, sure we should do this in schools, ignoring all the obvious reasons why you wouldn't do this to teenagers. Like what is the suggestion here? Forced body type, mental state, emotional development, self expression, and choice of action? Cause you're not gonna get this as a standard for teens in school unless you make it a requirement for every young person to have well above average physical ability, basically lock box their mental development so that they are prepared to deal with the stress of it, disavow emotions since shocker I know teens are kinda developing emotions with puberty and all so that's a bit of a barrier, completely remove self expression from them so they don't have alternate ideas which any psychologist would tell you is bad, and remove their entire ability to choose what activities they do or don't do outside of what is bare necessity. And if you were to do that then that would basically be a totalitarian society in a nutshell and would have terrible side effects for future generations development, on top of the precedence set by just how many freedoms you deprive by forcing all these things. Oddly enough in america I'm not quite sure that's gonna fly. I'd rather not, ya know, be dictating someones entire existence under the guise of "it benefits others". There's a million reasons why you wouldn't do this in schools. There is a big difference between grown adult men in physically great shape in a fully developed mental state with a strong handle on their emotions, and still growing teenagers in various physical shapes none of which are even close to done developing mentally who all biologically don't have a complete handle on their emotions. Yeah that's not the group of people you would see much success in with this training. This is a great explanation of exactly what I needed. I am dedicated to become a SEAL. I've always been looked down at because of my size, I'm 5'3 and 15 :/, even my own parents doubt me. That doesn't stop me though. I'm so excited for the future and what it holds for me.
if you really want to be a seal you should get your info from somewhere other than buzzfeed. i would look at the navy seal subreddit. its a great community and often real seals will post and answer questions. bunch of great training advice too.
Schmorc hey man the smurf crew is for guys that are 5'5 and shorter I believe so there are definitely some small guys that make it. Not only that but you'll probably grow a few more inches.
Height doesn't determine your strength or determination. I'm about 5'6-7 [which I assume is considered "small"] and I'm going for the Marines in 2 years, likely as a Corpsman or EOD. Hopefully you can get through buds though :) Good luck man, maybe you'll even have a shot at DEVGRU after serving for a bit. Just don't give up, that's what will prevent you from becoming a seal. You can't quit, no matter what.
The Indie Diary In all seriousness, there are some really cool “exciting” jobs that aren’t horribly physically demanding and don’t take years to get into. Ever looked at EMS?
Ren_Hedgecock Buzfeed’s journalism and independent humour sketches aren’t good, but they’re competent editors, and the videos they make that involve other people are usually pretty high quality.
I went to college, became an engineer, and joined the navy as an officer, and I have lots of respect for the SEALs, but I am really happy I can enjoy life from a different perspective...good for you buds, good for you.!
Ishan Ali Actually I think it’s the tone of his voice, he constantly has a straight face throughout the entire video and his tone of voice is very boring it’s deep and never changes, almost like a robot.
Amarion Johnson pool is nothing compared to the other part. the beach stage. You have to sit there and get wave splashed to ur face in the night. And then run like dozen of miles. All wet and tired. Then u have to join a group with couple of soldiers, all tired and wet. Get a boat off the beacg and try to paddle through the waves. At night when the tide is at its highest. Its fucking gruesome
Let me put it this way guys, I'm a United States Marine, and before I enlisted I wanted to be a SEAL. With that said, even as a Marine, I'm definitely not sure if I could make it through BUDS. Those SEAL's are so tough. That's real sacrifice in my book! It seems to me that these men are willing to die if only to become Navy SEAL's. Let alone the service they actual carry out with all their extensive training. After becoming a Marine, I couldn't have been more impressed with the SEAL's as a group of Men. So Goddamn tough. Again, nothing but respect from this Marine!
Just to clarify, he went into the navy a while ago, now a days, you join the seal challenge program and go straight from boot camp to Naval special warfare prep course. If you try to cross rate into Naval special warfare from the regular navy it will be much harder and there is NO guarantee that you’ll ever get that shot. After BUD/s you go to SQT (SEAL qualification training) and once you graduate SQT you will join your first SEAL team, unless you’re a medic then you’ll go to special operations medical school. The process is much more streamlined now, all the additional training after buds is included in SQT
I remember when my cousin and I went fishing and we were on a boat out in Coronado Bay in San Diego next to the military base and we saw them training in the water. They'd go down for quite some time before resurfacing so I'm curious as to what they were doing in the water.
super late here, but they were probably in buds. depending on what you saw them doing, they might've been doing surf torture, which is basically lying down in the surf and letting it washing over them, they might've been getting a sugar cookie, which is rolling in the sand while wet, so you're covered in gritty sand, or they might've been using one of their inflatable rafts and doing stuff with that.
One of the very best narratives about this elite force. Eloquent, crisp, descriptive and humble. Great respect for these warriors and patriots. God bless you.
My brother went to bootcamp in Chicago. It's crazy strict there. When they tell them they can't have any alcohol they really mean it. A guy got kicked out cause he had mouthwash with alcohol in it.
Can we get some other military guys involved? Someone other than SEALs? Like Marines, Rangers, Green Berets, etc. I mean SEALs are cool, but its good to switch things up.
It seems like the only people that don't sign NDAs are SEALs. They can make these videos and write books. My brother-in-law was in Force Recon in the Marines and he signed a 50 year NDA. Can't talk about his training, where he went, what he did, nothing. He did show us the cool handshake with his buddy and the SS on his chest that they carve out themselves. SS stands for Scout Sniper, in case you didn't know.
Great video. Thank you for this. My son is considering BUDS. I was a SAR Swimmer in the Navy. I regret to this day not attempting BUDS. I know 2 people who served in the teams and they tell me that it was life changing.
I have been wanting to be in the army since I was 7 and I am 11 now. That has not changed and this is an inspiration that even though that is gonna be the hardest thing ever, it is going to be worth it if I do it right.
Just learned how to swim... I think highly of myself. I know I can be a SEAL if I put the work in, it just hasn’t been in my thoughts. The Air Force and Army were always my favorite branch. Space and Cyberspace have always intrigued me, but I salute you for your service and this very informative video.
Thank u to all the guys serving right now for all yall do If It wasn't for yall I wouldn't be walking right now getting up every day doing what I want to do for my free time
I’m struggling while living with my parents at home navy seal sounds like the career for me- Majority of the people joining the military unaware of the difficulty
I heard somewhere that 'Rambo' type of guys are first to drop out during BUDS training. It's always the quiet, fiercely and mentally strong guys that make it.
Maybe if it was a 55 grain 556 round, more like 2300 fps for a 70 or 77 grain round from a 16" barrel, need 1600+ for the hydrosatic dynamics to ensure maximum wound cavity size. Speed decreases with a 10.5 inch barrel which is why it matters what range you are engaging at.
There's a documentary about BUDs training. It goes over a lot of stuff. Gives a great idea of the attrition rate and just how difficult it is. Class 224.

Schmorc The shortest SEAL was 5’0. Go for it.
Schmorc, Good luck son
Height doesn't determine your strength or determination. I'm about 5'6-7 [which I assume is considered "small"] and I'm going for the Marines in 2 years, likely as a Corpsman or EOD.
Hopefully you can get through buds though :) Good luck man, maybe you'll even have a shot at DEVGRU after serving for a bit. Just don't give up, that's what will prevent you from becoming a seal. You can't quit, no matter what.
we are lucky we have guys like this protecting are country so we can live the way we do ! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS TO PROTECT US !
OUTSTANDING TROOP'S ..GOD BLESS ALL SEAL TEAM MEMBERS ..THE BEST OF THE BEST.. THANKS FOR ALWAYS BEING THEIR WHEN THE SHTF ..NO MATTER WHAT OR WHERE..
I tried out to become a Seal.
Today I work at Wallmart.
The Indie Diary In all seriousness, there are some really cool “exciting” jobs that aren’t horribly physically demanding and don’t take years to get into. Ever looked at EMS?
Jesus. Try again man.
Youre pathetic
Undercover of course. 😉
try again bro. you can do it. it's never too late.

Ren_Hedgecock Buzfeed’s journalism and independent humour sketches aren’t good, but they’re competent editors, and the videos they make that involve other people are usually pretty high quality.

Honest and humble. Great video
I'm a fan of seals. A sealing fan.
I went to college, became an engineer, and joined the navy as an officer, and I have lots of respect for the SEALs, but I am really happy I can enjoy life from a different perspective...good for you buds, good for you.!
What did you do in the Navy?
Thank you Navy Seals for protecting
Our country, we are so proud of you.
just watching this video made me tired! damn im so unfit
Ishan Ali Actually I think it’s the tone of his voice, he constantly has a straight face throughout the entire video and his tone of voice is very boring it’s deep and never changes, almost like a robot.
Ishan Ali Did I ask.
Ishan Ali I saw u on the U4
Starwars Geek maybe they are even train to do that..lol....getting in to our mind
Ishan Ali Muhammad Ali?
I don’t think I could do the pool test
i'd drown most likely
Amarion Johnson pool is nothing compared to the other part. the beach stage. You have to sit there and get wave splashed to ur face in the night. And then run like dozen of miles. All wet and tired. Then u have to join a group with couple of soldiers, all tired and wet. Get a boat off the beacg and try to paddle through the waves. At night when the tide is at its highest. Its fucking gruesome
Amarion Johnson Same
Amarion Johnson vthen you cant. Because you fail without faith
I believe in you
Let me put it this way guys, I'm a United States Marine, and before I enlisted I wanted to be a SEAL.
Rah
Much respect to you as just a Marine. You guys are no joke yourselves. Appreciate your service.
When’s hell week ?
@@Bman897third week of first phase lol.
I remember when my cousin and I went fishing and we were on a boat out in Coronado Bay in San Diego next to the military base and we saw them training in the water. They'd go down for quite some time before resurfacing so I'm curious as to what they were doing in the water.
Omg ur so lucky
Edit:cuz u have seen the navy seals its my dream!!😍😅
@@therealleviackerman8949 weird dream but cool i guess, hopefully one day you see them
super late here, but they were probably in buds. depending on what you saw them doing, they might've been doing surf torture, which is basically lying down in the surf and letting it washing over them, they might've been getting a sugar cookie, which is rolling in the sand while wet, so you're covered in gritty sand, or they might've been using one of their inflatable rafts and doing stuff with that.
He’s not a seal he’s a human this is click bait
butterflyflyhig IT WAS ALL A LIE! You’re right. He’s not a SEAL.
butterflyflyhig
Huh, it states Navy Seal.
ProudNavyDad SWO r/woooosh
ProudNavyDad SWO ‘‘twas a joke
ProudNavyDad SWO Oh may I ask, did your son go through the Naval Academy then go through BUD/S? It’ll be awesome if you can answer. Hooyah
I have a lot of respect for this guy.
One of the very best narratives about this elite force. Eloquent, crisp, descriptive and humble. Great respect for these warriors and patriots. God bless you.
Before watching this video I was think thinking of joining after high school.
Keyword: Was
Scared you off?
Jared Benson yea😂😂
Joining the seals or the navy
the whole jump school thing .... nah I'm good
The Thing both. I was thinking of joining but I don’t think I’m made for it
Dauntless initiation.
My brother went to bootcamp in Chicago. It's crazy strict there. When they tell them they can't have any alcohol they really mean it. A guy got kicked out cause he had mouthwash with alcohol in it.
Melo No shite mate. They need obedient men, not comedians or rule breakers
Little Napoleon it was mouthwash, you said that like he did it on purpose or he did it to be the cool guy in the class. He could have just not known
*Hey You, Lemme Talk To Ya* Bruh......
Little Napoleon mouthwash is hilarious
Its Cause They dont want drink people with acces to weapons.
Wow. What a courageous hero. Thank you for your service and dedication sir.
These men deserve my salute
Can we get some other military guys involved? Someone other than SEALs? Like Marines, Rangers, Green Berets, etc. I mean SEALs are cool, but its good to switch things up.
Id like to hear about SWCC dont hear much from them
It seems like the only people that don't sign NDAs are SEALs.
They should check out the MARSOC Snipers, the SEAL snipers train with them
girl scouts?
Jon Collier no marsoc trains with the seals, remember marsoc was invented in 2006, but regular marine scout snipers teach seal snipers how to shoot.
Complete 100% dedication to the Navy, you're team members, and unconditional complete dedication to senior personnel. There is nothing less.
SEAL's are such badasses. Unreal!!!
7:37 Man, great and really inspiring message from a hero who achieved what he sought, need more advice like this!

Really really cool information. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and thank you for your service!

"An adult profession of roaming the planet, causing trouble, and not getting caught." Damn, what a badass!
Deipatrous wont be saying that when u have an m16 pointed at ur head
5:40 28 fps? He must have meant 2800
I didn’t know it was different back then. Now you have to pass a certain score on asvab and pick seal/os as your rate.
This video uplifted me on respect to be humble and reach my goal for seal 🦭🫡
Thank you all for your service! God bless you all and God bless America! I love our country let’s not lose it.

ahh I should go to sleep. I worked so hard today complaining about algebra and I’m exhausted.
This guy

Navy seal. I Pray my son can win that training someday like his dada.
The guys face at 2:17 says it all
I heard somewhere that 'Rambo' type of guys are first to drop out during BUDS training. It's always the quiet, fiercely and mentally strong guys that make it.
Navy seals are the best of the best
My parents were both navy F-18 Fighter Pilots!
Airesto that’s so cool omg

Cool!
Keep the tradition going 😅

Mad respect!🙇🙏
The punisher is real
I thought punisher was Marine Corp
Harry Dowd he was also a SEAL
Izaiah Florés the Punisher was a Marine
Before you trolls have a fit... i'm sure he meant 28-hundred fps.
That is NOT what the teleprompter said. LOL!
Glad i wasn’t the only to catch that.
Class 224.
Thank you for your sacrifice! And thank you for giving insight into the training.
Great video. Love the detailed breakdown. Good job and thank you for your service.
