    Ms. Denise. I have watched a lot of your video's. I have NEVER seen you dress in a way that would be immodest. You have always dressed very nicely, and appropriately! I do not see anything wrong if you wear a pair of bluejeans or slacks in your video's! Those ''gentlemen''( I use that word loosely, THEY are NOT!) should have better manners than that! They are probably ''trolls''. I know it can be annoying! You always look lovely, in whatever you wear! Thanks so much for the wonderful videos!

    I love this video and have recently started to wear the house dress on a regular basis too. I started after I had bought a dress for everyday, which made me feel feminine and attractive, but I could comfortably move to care for my children, grandchildren and home. When my husband saw me in this dress he complimented me and stated that he finds a woman most attractive in a dress. Well, that did for me, not only do I love to wear a dress and always have, but my husband loves it and finds me attractive....what woman wouldn't continue to wear dresses. Thanks for this video...it's so nice to see other women also embrace the house dress.

    You are really darling in each one of your house dresses. I loved them......keep wearing them. Did you make any of them? I’m about a 1X size, and I just can’t find any dresses like that? All are way to short. But I’ll keep looking and see. I use to sew all my clothes until I got large size. It’s not so easy anymore. I’m 70. You are a refined and classy lady!

    Hi Denise, Love this video!! You are so pretty and look lovely in a dress. And you are such an inspiration to me., I have fallen into a terrible trap of just wearing jeans and the same style of shirt almost every day. One thing that I have to figure out is how to find shoes that will look good with a dress but that will also support my feet… I have a few problems with them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Oh…and to those rude comments…just terrible. But I have to tell you something funny. I was with my cousin who is 1 year younger than me. She is very pretty and in her 60s. Dark black hair and blue eyes. Well We were having lunch and the men at the table (next to us) were staring at her wayyyyyy too much. She finally looked at them and said …OK boys…get a good look!!…Oh heavens….they were so embarrassed!! LOL!! Men shouldn’t be rude but know that you are a beautiful woman!! Love you, Mary🤗

    • @homemakingwithdenise
      @homemakingwithdenise  3 года назад +2

      Hahaha! Mary I am glad your cousin was so bold. I would never be so but good for her. As far as shoes, get some flat sneaker like shoes...Sketchers or something comfortable to wear in a neutral color...maybe a taupe or a tan, something that just blends. You know how the ladies in beauty pageants always wear taupe shoes because they just disappear on camera, do that. Something in a neutral colors that just disappears. Thank you so much for stopping by. I do appreciate it. Just try one dress and see how you feel. Just give it a try.

    you know i have noticed that if you are happy with your attire, comfortable in your clothes and shoes (added plus if the hubby loves it, mine is pretty quiet most of the time, lol.) and approve of what you wear it shows to every one else. what's the saying forget the rest, because what they think doesn't matter? & most important sadly a lot of folks where not taught how to treat others and just say what comes to mind. at 43 i keep searching for "my style" and hope i will find it soon. i tend to go for comfort over style. in Virginia we need layers, so u have to be very flexible. have that flannel or jacket to add or take away, depending on the temps. i love your style. u look cute. but your opinion is the one that matters most in your own life. I wanted to suggest/ tell you that I have a half slip with a decorative lace at the bottom that is meant to show and lengthen a dress that is a few inches too short. I also like to wear leggings or jean legging under dresses in the cooler months. I believe that leggings are not pants, but they work great under dresses for warmth and modesty! I would wear many of the dresses I ou have chosen. I don't have a single Peter Pan collared dress-I must remedy that!

    I love fit and flare dresses with a V or scoop neck (crew and higher necklines choke me since my bust has been proportionally too large). I also look for stretch fabric since I buy them via my waist measurement which is generally a size 12. My bust however is generally a size 22 or 3X. They can only take in fabric so much and I usually fit a smaller size in most pull on styles. I usually need a larger size in a style with a closure. I love loose or flared bottoms as my hips are narrower than my shoulders. They are generally a size 8 on size charts. I have some tops that fit even though they are a size 3/5 in junior sizes. I prefer knee to ankle length dresses. I also love high waist knee to ankle length skirts. I especially love long A line skirts. I usually need petite lengths for my proportionally short legs so I have to be careful of tripping with maxi dresses and long skirts. It's difficult to find them in petite lengths so I have to hem most of them unless they were made in country where the people are naturally shorter (When I attend Filipino gatherings I'm taller than most of the men; My mother is 4'7; I'm 5'4). Lee loves any clothing that shows off my body especially my bust and butt. He really loves anything sheer, flimsy, and red. He's also a fan of the school girl look. I think I will just buy some tie tops and a short skirt as none of the costumes look like the would fit my bust. Many of my long sleeve dresses have above the knee hemlines. I tend to wear leggings underneath those, but I tend to burst the inner thigh seems on them (I think it's from my thick thighs rubbing the fabric together since I don't get chaffing there when I wear dresses and skirts; the only place I get heat rashes is on my bust). I mostly wear separates in the Fall/Winter. I have two pull on boot leg pants in size 7/9 in juniors (I don't have enough butt and hip for ladies sizes so I still only fit junior sizes in pants). I need to hem them about two inches as they drag on the wet ground. I plan to get some fleece skirts. Also plan to get some actual long sleeve tops as most of mine are 3/4 lengths. My bust disables modesty closures. On my red wiggle dress the part where the snap was sewn on broke off and now stays permanently attached to it's counterpart. On one of my long sleeve, V neck, and ankle length dresses and sewn in part where the modesty hook attached to also broke off. I haven't been able to tie the modesty closure on my robes for a long time now although the robes themselves still fit otherwise. I should probably not use the modesty features for the off chance I end up donating the clothing.

    Your dresses are very elegant. The neckline scoops just enough to create a little mystery, but not enough to give away any secrets. I have always preferred to wear dresses. My preference is light weight cotton dresses. However, I find it discouraging that companies that produce slips are no longer including the shadow panel. It seems that couture is revisiting the modest fashion styles of bygone eras. I hope slips catch up. I only recently found your channel. Thanks for sharing.

I thought I was the only one that was brining out the dress this summer. Thanks for all you do. BTW I am so glad you did not toss the yellow and black floral dress it is really pretty!!!

    Unless a dress is ankle length bending is an immodest act! Properly fitting pants are much more modest.

    • @homemakingwithdenise
      @homemakingwithdenise  3 года назад +2

      Hi Heather, it’s the properly fitting pants that were drawing attention to my derrière. I disagree that bending is immodest in a mid calf dress; nothing shows.

    You look so pretty in dresses. I love dresses but am very heavy and don’t feel I can wear dresses. Do you wear hose with your dresses?

    • @homemakingwithdenise
      @homemakingwithdenise  3 года назад

      Hi June, I wear hose in cooler weather. Right now, no. I’ve got flesh colored tights that I like to wear for warmth when needed. When it’s really cold, I’ve got some fleece lined tights. They really help keep me warm in cold weather. In summer, I’m wearing sandals and no hose. Now as for being heavy…there are dresses that will flatter you. Try Dress Barn and shopping on line. Most of mine came from online.

      That's what June Cleaver on Leave it to Beaver did. Her role, though, set an unrealistic tone for a lot of women who patterned themselves after her character. She wore high heels pretty much every day, hair always in place, nice jewelry etc....she was too perfect. Women realized it wasn't attainable
