Hey i have i question, yesterday i dropped my water bottle and some water came in my controller, now the R2 button and I think the square button are kept on being pressed in, literally when im playing Rocket league it drives by itself I dont even have to touch my controller xD. I was wondering if you might have any idea how i can possibly solve this :D,
Pls I need your assistance. The square and R1 buttons weren't working on my PS4 controller. After watching your video I followed the steps you taught, but after cleaning the faulty buttons it still didn't work. Please what do I do in this situation.

My Ps button was sticking on my first controller. The chip membrane was lifted so it kept touching the sensor, making the other controller disconnecting every 5 seconds, I had to keep the faulty controller in the car so it wouldn't mess up the system. Thanks to your video I managed to fix it without losing or breaking anything! You saved me weeks of waiting for sony to send me a new one. Thanks bro.

I just need to add that the cable that you pulled out from behind the battery tray is fastened by a small white clip that needs to be flipped up before removing the ribbon cable. Plus it's a lot easier to reinsert the cable when reassembling the controller. It may or may not damage your ribbon cable. Ribbon cables are very sensitive and easily damaged, so never force it in.

this was really helpful, my x button wasn't work and i found out the rubber piece had a tear, now i'll just look for a replacement.

Faiz Vlogging I don’t play much it’s just the stick drift and the buttons stick even tho I keep my controller brand new... Should I try a scuf or something higher quality what would u recommend?
@@alxyc scuff would be nice but I would recommend the normal ps4 dualshock4 updated one it does the job but just keep it clean and in cover like dont expose it to dust or stuff.
Fheks you don’t play much, but your stick drifts and button sticks lol? You probably smash that controller or press that thing hard everything probably. No way a controller goes out that fast. You’re just not doing a job good of taking care of your stuff tbh.

in my case its the bottom arrow buttion that isnt working at all. i was hoping i can fix it because a lot of games require it to open menus and it makes it harder to navigate tools when you cant use the bottom one.
My rubber padding for the x button is ripped. I need a new controller however as I popped out a piece, some random piece fell out and idk where it belongs
Haha....I done everything you said as my problem was exactly the same as yours (X button) cleaned it, put it all back together properly, plugged it in and....nothing....no power to it at all. Was about the suck it up and buy another one online for silly money when I had one last tantrum with it and threw it on the floor. NOW IT FRIKKIN WORKS BRO, NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED....PHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M SO LUCKY. Thanks for the help in the vid bro anyway.

I have a similar problem, two of the buttons on the d-pad are nonresponsive, I've already cleaned out my controller, and there is no difference. I suspect that it is the conductive film buttons that the physical buttons bridge when pressed. When I figure it out I'm going to try to record and upload it.
Same issue and I suspect it's the film buttons as well ...
I had the same issue then i repoved that rubber thing and then washed it and then put it back and it started to work

hi. i am in a big problem. my L2 does not works. i opened it, switched the silicon pads behind the buttons, cleaned the connection points, even tried a new conductive film on left side, but still it doesnt work!! it suddenly stopped working . how do i fix it?
The x button doesn't work because another button is pressed at the same time that is the problem

I have a problem.
My Dpad is somehow wonky. If I press right, it will often go diaginally right and up. This really annoys me, since I play fighting games and that accidental jumping has costed me many matches. What should I do?

Mamy people have issue with X button on PS4. I buy used controller and use it mainly for MLB 2K12 and Racing games on PC with Six Axis, L2, R2, and Right Thumbstick heavily used, but the Square button didn't work at all.

Idk what it is but when I press PS button it doesn’t work but sometimes it randomly presses itself and I’m scared if I turn off my controller and I won’t be able to turn it back on
I've cleaned absolutely everything and nothing changed. The only way any of my PS, [], ∆, or O button works is if I hold X as well. What could cause that?
Side note: I have an original PS4 controller, the one where the light doesn't go through the touch-pad

Jose Garcia my controller works fine when I’m in the PS4 game menu and everything but when I get into a game the buttons stop working i think it’s the same problem as yours

Do not "clean" the inside of your controller.
Most of the ones below with broken controllers broke them while doing so.
