I saw Prince in concert, and during a break in his performance, Shiela E came on stage and performed that song. She stole the show… got more praise and more ovations than Prince. Must’ve gone through 20 sets of drumsticks, she was playing so hard and they kept breaking. She totally didn’t expect the crowd response and was overwhelmed. To measure up to Prince is a huge feat, and she did it.

They were a family group all playing instruments with the 2 lead female vocalists being 12yrs and 17 yrs old respectively. Elizabeth was 12 when the vocal track of You Got it All was done. Love this. Blast from the past. This song and LOST IN EMOTION were my favorites of theirs. They were produced by Full Force who were also big at the time. These guys, Lisa Marie, Sheila E., Paula Abdul and of course Janet Jackson...all big around this time. This was another one of those songs that played at every dance party we had.

It’s really funny you mentioned “Free”. This music was classed under Freestyle which was REALLY BIG at the time in the early to mid 80s. I know many say to listen to Lost in Emotion, but I beg to differ. For a closer freestyle taste, I’d recommend I wonder if I take you home and Can you feel the beat within my Heart. But you really need to listen to All Cried Out. She’s still going strong all these years later! One of our neighbourhood celebrities and always lovely to everyone when we ran across her.

Summer 1987. Upward Bound summer program. Weekly dances. This song dominated. Everyone loved it. This one takes me back. Those were good days.

Love this. Blast from the past. This song and LOST IN EMOTION were my favorites of theirs. They were produced by Full Force who were also big at the time. These guys, Lisa Marie, Sheila E., Paula Abdul and of course Janet Jackson...all big around this time. This was another one of those songs that played at every dance party we had.

These were my jams back in the day and still enjoy the freestyle music of the 80s such happy times. These songs come on at a party and my friends and i are all out there on the dance floor. I was about to leave an event i was out until Lisa Lisa came on and i joined these people i barely knew on the dance floor. Johnny O, Debbie Deb, Cynthia, Lil Suzy, Stevie B. It’s really funny you mentioned “Free”. This music was classed under Freestyle which was REALLY BIG at the time in the early to mid 80s. I know many say to listen to Lost in Emotion, but I beg to differ. For a closer freestyle taste, I’d recommend I wonder if I take you home and Can you feel the beat within my Heart. But you really need to listen to All Cried Out.
