    I just had to share that I built this coffee table today as a beginner woodworker and not only was it easy, but it turned out so sturdy and beautiful! 7 years later and your video is still proving helpful!! Thanks for teaching me how to!!

    This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

    I liked this, because I don't have any experience in building anything, and I just want to make a simple coffee table for my apartment. I see a lot of people commenting that they should have used screws rather than nails, etc... I like that they use really basic tools because that's what I have available to me. There are a lot of youtubers who have professional woodworking shops and make elaborate projects, and while I enjoy watching them too, it's nice to watch someone make something basic enough that I could give it a try.

    • @TheRehabLife
      @TheRehabLife  6 лет назад +9

      Thanks for watching! You can use screws as well but the nails will hold just fine.

    • @chuckcostello5167
      @chuckcostello5167 5 лет назад +2

      Yup, just nails (or screws) and glue. It's really all you need to make something basic and functional. Most of these other people are probably over-thinking it or would build it a different way (which is fine, too). But if you just need something made, this is a good method.

    I just made this for my girlfriend for her birthday. She will get it today. Was super excited to make it. And was excited to see if I could do it for the same price. Sadly I'm in california so that didn't happen haha. I went to home depot. I got all the supplies (a small brush for the stain, a darker stain, nails, screws, wood glue, and sanding block) for $33.18. And the wood was $57.44. Overall it came out to ~$90. Still a decently priced project. Thank you for the detailed video! Was really simple!

      I started off watching this channel, but also watch some pros to know the differences. After watching a few of the pros, you will understand this couple make disposable furnitures. I am a newbie, but I know what not to do. For example, when he is making the aprons, two screw is not giving a good support, not to mention that two exposed screws, eww. I think even a beginner can make tenons and mortises joints.

    Took about 1 hour to put it all together and stain it. I pre-drilled all the holes to ensure no wood splitting. Lowes didn't have 1 X 10', so I went with 2" X 10' and screwed the top pieces to the base as well as added glue to all the wood contact areas. You can park a truck on it now! Looks great and was just what I needed to add that rustic look.Too bad I can't add a photo in the comments section. Next project, TV stand and two night tables.

Rustic is cool and is the look I’m going for. Crappy and about to fall apart, however, is what I fear it would look like. I have no experience with furniture construction.

    I'm assuming the price of the lumber is regional. I bought the wood, wood glue and clear coat at home depot and it came to $85.00. I already had the nails and screws so that saved money and the clear coat was half off for $7.00. I went to the dollar store and spent $2.00 for vinegar and steel wool to patina the wood. I'm wayyyyy over the $30 but I have something that isn't made with cheap pressed board material and something that will last for years to come.

      We used pine for his video. White wash is made with white paint (we have a tutorial on whitewashing on our page). You can just use a standard drill and bits. Screws will be more secure than nails so those would be preferred in areas but nails work as well. Happy building!

      This woodworking book is really detailed, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* ! With the aid of this plan, I was able to use words, drawings, real images and different diagrams. It is really an informative product. I am presently making furniture together with my brother and thanks to this product, I feel like helping him is possible.?

    are these measurements accounted for nominal sizes? Like when I go to a store and buy a 4x4, it isnt actually a 4x4 due to shrinkage, will this effect the build if its constructed entirely from pine, as all pieces should have shrunk in a similar fashion?

      The size difference is actually due to milling. SPF (spruce-pine-fir) boards will be sold and referred to in nominal sizes in almost all cases.
      Honestly, and no offense, if you're asking this question, then I would just sit down and do some math. You should have a basic understanding of your design, and this question shows that you don't. In this build, if you used an actual size 1x4", your frame would be a 1/2" larger width-wise (see 1:17). That means your overhang will be a 1/4" smaller on each side (see measurements at 2:12) - not an appreciable difference. Your apron will be a 1/2" longer. It just wouldn't matter. Try doing some smaller projects and being able to figure out these designs on your own - you'll get there! Good luck.

    Just built this table! Great video tutorial, however, this is not a $30 table. For all the supplies and wood it cost me $80. Well worth the money though. It turned out to be a great, sturdy table.

      Much obliged to the creator of this plan for sharing such awesome work of yours in an extremely moderate expense [Link Here== *TopFineWoodworking. Com* ]. The nature of the work and the materials far surpasses the cost. This is the best offer as such.?

      fashionstylist03 I havent made any of these (yet!) but here in Australia we have aquadeck clear coat for out door decks etc. I think adding that in a clear coat would make it water proof if you could find something similar. Hope this helps!
