Easy DIY tutorial for making your own industrial farm table!
Dimensions: 56"l x 33 3/4"w x 30"h
How RUclips videos should be. No talking, just straight instructions and no distractions.
Thank you ☺️❤️
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
I just want to thank you guys for making such wonderful stuff, BUT you make things so that the person who doesn’t have a shop full of tools can also make them as well. Thank you thank you thank you.
I love your videos! I made one of the barn doors and it turned out awesome! Will be doing a longer version of this next. And then for the shelves. You really explain things well and make it really simple. Thank You!
I would love to make this! It looks so awesome but a bit small, could you kindly list the materials I would need to make a 70x38x30 table please?
I always watch you're videos! Thanks...
LOVE THIS SOOOOOO MUCH! I'm going out tomorrow to buy a saw so I can make one of these.
Wow. I want to try this at home! ;-) Great video; clear instructions.... Love your pup!!!
It's good to see the woodprix has new Instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
Simply amazing! I may have to do this one, if I get the ok from the wife
Thank you 🙏
Kind of wondering how this held up through time... wood expansion and contraction is typically a problem that did not seem to be addressed. Looks cool though.
I love your videos
I made this table last weekend! It looks great. The galvanized steel pipes were the most expensive. The whole project cost about $300. Thank you for the tutorial! Look forward to making more of your things.
What kind of wood did you use
@@thedegeneratesdigest138 Whatever regular lumbar is. Not sure, really.
these vids are fun to watch in 2x speed
I live in an apartment, which means that complicated construction doesn't work. This is so simple and something we're going to do this weekend, thank you so much for coming up with a way to make a table that doesn't involve expensive tools that the average person doesn't have lying around!!
We made it and the table looks incredible! We decided to use hairpin legs that we ordered from Amazon to match the aesthetic of the rest of our home, but nonetheless this is a legit tutorial - thanks!!!
You did not make this, stop lying.
Cost of Piping without the Top?
What kind of wood are they?
Can you make a computer desk version!! Maybe longer?
I think a small desk version of this would be cool!!
I'd really like your work, no more discussion or blah blah blah, great job, I'll enjoy watching video.
Love your table top idea! Much cheaper than using one piece of butcher block countertop and looks great!
Could you please make a video on how to make a round stool that matches this table
just finished making this table... it looks awesome. wish I could add photo here. your video was EXCELLENT... we are first-timers at something like this and had no real hiccups. did it all for about $250... pipes were the bulk of the cost (everything was purchased at our local home depot... and in a SINGLE trip). as far as the top screws... one the screws holes were puttied, sanded, stained and poly'd, they totally blend in with the distressed farmhouse look and I'd be hard pressed to even see them. The worst part was removing the price stickers on the pipes, half of which were covered in tape! basically just scraped them off with a razor. anyway... THANK YOU! the video was great... and I love your dog!
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear the project turned out well. We have the same issue with those stickers, they don't make it easy!
The Rehab Life Would LOVE if you guys could show us how to do a stool to match this table! round or rectangular, no matter. my thought is to do a matching bench and a couple of stools. A how to video would be awesome!
Recently had to remove dozens of those stickers for a big shelf. Putting the pipes in water for a few hours makes it a lot easier.
What type of timber have you used for this table? Excellent project!
Only thing sucks on this table is no chair or anyone can sit on the ends, needs much more wood overhang
Just built this table over the last two days. First - it turned out to be AMAZING and I can't thank the instructions and video enough for walking me through it. I ended up resizing and making a taller, thinner kitchen island.
The entire project ended up costing $200 to make. Piping alone was $140 at Home Depot. Wood was $25. Random other things like stain, poly, sandpaper were about $30 as well. Still cheaper than purchasing (and WAY cooler making your own from scratch!) an already made table that would have cost you upwards of $800-2000 for the style. I would highly recommend giving it a go if you have the time and little bit of extra cash!
Post a picture of your kitchen island so the rest of us can see....
I was going to comment above, I never realized how expensive Galv. Piping was.
If you have a Menards in your area, their plumbing pipe is cheaper and it is just as good in quality as Lowes or Home Depot. You can also find it cheaper on Amazon. I made a toilet paper holder last weekend and it was only $5 for the pipe if that.
So, I'm doing this, but as a desk. I will be changing the legs for it. Just got everything for it.
This one of the very few DIY project which can be done by the amateur people. Most of the DIYs are simply BS by the professionals.
Dude that table is awesome!
Wish it was a bit bigger.
Note: make a coffee table with same setup
Perfect with all the explanations, in between pics etc. Great
I have always said you two are awesome. You have allowed me to build through your videos. One thing, can you put a cost for each build? Sometimes we get caught up not realizing the costs until it’s too late. I understand your cost will be different from my cost but still it gives us a gauge on the cost of the build. Thank you again and keep them videos coming.
I really like the table but when y’all distress the wood in your videos it makes me distressed. I think I’ll just go with the grain and knots as being enough patina and character.
I just completed building the table and it came out great!!! Just wanted to say thanks!!!
james tracy: Could you tell us please, approx. how much did you spent? Thank you
When you drill your 2x2x56 to the 2x10x30.75.....wouldn’t that make the depth of the table 34.74....not 33.75???
I Love Your work but it hurts my back watching You work on the floor! please build a work bench for your own sake!
DroogyT some people don’t have work benches. Stop your crying.
Wow…. Very impressive !
Cost 12/2021 at Lowes in NJ $433.00. Galvanized is not black pipe. There is a difference. I will stretch top to 40 x 60. Will let you know how it goes.
I understand the industral look has in fans, but it ain't ny bag. Perhaps I spent my working day aroubd irin, affects my tastes. In the trade tose "short pipes" are called nipples Probably should have used wrenches to make up those pipe connection. So what does your four legged supervisor do when yo screw up? *:)*
I really like your style because your listing down all needed materials, that’s cool.
Thanks!
I am 3 D printer 4 corks to go in the feet (reducer couplings) of the legs so floors don't get marred. Will then put felt on them. You could not use the reducers and use the floor flanges on both ends. I would recommend biscuits or pegs and gluing the table top boards together before screwing down so there aren't cracks or warping for food to get caught in. It is coming out great. Box store wood isn't the best. Just the pipe was $300.00.at Lowes .I stained Red Oak. 4 coats of Poly so far.
Hey everyone hd sells a kit for a hundred bucks .you make your own top. 3/4 inch pipe. Google for some reason does not show this in search. I sent whole day looking for these parts which add up to almost 4 hundred before i stumbled on this. Good luck!
I really loved your videos!
I also have a question, is it 33 3/4? Or 34 3/4 for the w? Thanks for responding :)
Really enjoy it. Let's check Wood Prix's plans also.
So if you want this table to be counter height...you just remove the six inch legs and replace with an additional 18 inch correct?
If you enjoy woodworking plans, you will love woodprix. Get inspired by all the endless possibilities of furniture plans and other wood projects to build, for both indoors and outdoors.
i made 2 weeks before..nice job i put flange and for the legs down for not taking some much power the wood floor
sometimes i wonder if any of these people have been to a real farm, we had beautiful old victorian tables, and most people I know in the country didn't have x frame this and that. But hey that's a fad i guess.
What height of chairs would one buy for this? Can somebody please help. I want to build this but need to know what chair size to get
Read some of the previous comments before you start. They answer many questions you will have.
How do you make sure the table is level though?
I am going to build this for my sister for her new home. Could you please help me and tell me what the wood measurements would be if I wanted to make this table 7 ft by 4ft? It would mean a lot, thank you.
Your videos kick @$$ because you make it simple enough for the guy with limited ability and tools to make some AWESOME projects they can be proud of. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Rob Aubry, they are cool little projects, but keep in mind they aren't the best or smartest design or quality craftsmanship. Therfore, they really don't last long before they start to warp and /or break apart. Gluing and screwing only last so long, but there are a lot of better ways of doing things that will ensure the quality and longevity of your wood furniture and projects.
What was the approximate cost of this table? I went to purchase the piping from a Lowe's and it started adding up. just curious if there is a more economical option.
Yeah. Don't build one. If this is too costly, you may want to just buy some crap at Ikea.
I love the rustic look of this, opening up a restaurant soon...this is great for DYI and hunting reclaim wood for my high long table. Thank you so much! Just save me lots of $$! :)
Ngoc Tran how much did this cost at the end?
Fantastic video. Gonna have a go at making one of these tables myself...maybe just a bit longer though. Where did you get the metal pipe from?
If I wanted to make a 48l x 36w and 30 Height table what pipe sizes would I need ?
This was the best video ever on this! Simple and easy, fast and fun!!! I can’t wait to do this
How are you gonna wear a the safety equipment but not even have shoes on. That is very irresponsible and a bad practice in general
Im hoping that respirator was just for comedic effect, cause those are not the right cartridges for organic vapors.
You didnt need wood filer If You screw the boards from the other side.and wear some shoes If You allreadt cut boards inside the house
Thanks for the video. I just made a similar version for my computer desk in my garage. Came out really nice! I only used one set of pipes on the left, and the right and back sides are floating using a 2x4 I had. Very good video. Now my wife wants me to build a new dining room table haha!
Good luck with the dining table!
Awesome! Excellent Tutorial. You gotta tell us the name of this MUSIC.
Thanks! It's called Melodic Hip Hop by Micrah.
I like what you've shared. I'm going to make a reclaimed American Chestnut & pipe table for our kitchen space this weekend. I'll be creating a plans and video set for them. Should be fun and no doubt a good compliment to your work. Thanks for sharing and I can see the materials list links in your description. Excellent resource for would be diy'ers.
ANy ideas for how to finish the table legs so they don't damage the floor?
I think you should have waited until it was leap year and all of the stars were aligned before building this table..... I would never have built this table on a full moon. Nice Job man!!!!!!
Awesome plan! Any way to bring the cost down without giving up quality and sturdiness? I'm trying to stay around the $200 budget. I planned to use hairpin legs, but I'm loving the industrial look -but it's pricey. Thanks!!
great tutorial! question is where can i find the dope music you used in this tutorial?
Im going to download the APP called SHAZAM and see if it will tell me the name of the music.
Can anyone tell me, what the distance is from the middle pipe to the wood is?
You can turn this table into an industrial desk if you adjust the height to 29" or 30" and move the center support beam to the back by changing the piping accordingly.
Maybe I'm missing something, but how do the three 1" x 12" equal the length of the 1x8x33 3/4? Should the two 1" x 8" pieces be 36" in length?
I made one exactly like this but used hard copper instead of galvanized pipe and it came out looking soo nice :) I didnt use any stain though, just poly, just because copper pairs way better with lighter colored wood.
Do you have a matching chair that could go with this table?
DAMN you..your working in socks (safety first , men) is so distracting from this beautyful Table.
Beautiful piece….I plan to make my it light grey wash. No worries pics to follow. Thank you for your inspiration
I don't know if this is crazy but I want to make this and Spray paint the PVC piping gold is that crazy???
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the great idea!!!
Cannot for the life of me find the necessary lengths of galvanized piping. Went to Lowe’s and Home Depot already. Any suggestions?
There's a link to the 1" piping in our video description!
Thinking about making this for my pc. But gonna have to think of a new way for the pipes legs. The middle pipe that connects the two side pieces would throw me off
Can anyone help? I cut all the boards to the exact dimensions given and have triple checked but somehow my 1x12s are about 2 inches too wide. Anyone else have this problem?
It would be fine if my 1x8s 36" instead of the prescribed 33 and 3/4"
Stainless steel pipe would have looked better I think
May I hire you? I love this table and am wanting to build my own furniture I can. You always make it look so easy. Really can you make and send it to me?
Would like to make a 9' long by 30" wide table. Can you assist me with sizes of material I will need? Much appreciated.
I'm late to the party, but what song is this? Artist?
Does anyone know what color stain that was used in the video?
Everyone, this is DIY not professional grade. It maybe higher in cost than you think. Remember, it was made by you, not in some far off land where labor is $2.00 per week.
The pipe will have black oily coating on it. You will need to clean with mineral spirits or acetone then spray with lacquer else they will rust.
I would like to make this table but I am using reclaimed barn board which it's 2 in thick. What all would I have to change to use this??
Wow that looks really good. I do similar things. Things would certainly fit together. Can you take a look at it? ;)
This looks like a simple DIY, however just searching for galvanized pipe, you may not find it at your local home depot or lowes stores. Anyone with experience building this know how much they spent on materials?
I know this video was made 3 years ago but may I ask how you got your pipes that dark color or did they come that way? Thanks great job
I shrunk it down to make 24 x 24 end tables. Turned out great
I love your projects! Inspired. Is it possible to make this table with an extension sleeve to make it longer?
I went to the store to get some piping like yours and it was all marked with white lettering and very very greasy/dirty. How do you clean the pipes?
Depth : 2" + 30_3/4" + 2" =34_3/4", but why do you mention Width_33_3/4"?
WOULD THE HAIRPIN TABLE LEGS WORK ON THIS ONE?
I really like how simple the instructions are to follow..idiot proof, they way I need them! I also love the focus is on the project not the people. They show just enough of themselves to show they are human and every day people. Very nice job, folks! Keep up the good work!
Wowowow. Love this thanks. :) I have a sander, I just need the rest of the stuff 😂😂
We've got faith!
Great table. A few questions: is it ok to use a power sander to finish this table? About how much did it cost in total to make the table?
