The knowledge of their life on the boat, the mechanics of everything, what they had to do to prepare, the skills they had to learn; it is all so impressive and the way that they appreciate the life they live is refreshing to see. They also work well together; by far, one of my most favourite RUclips couples.

It was the happiest 7 years of my life. Completely fulfilled! There is something about the connection between us, and living on top of water... it's really great!

I just need to say that this was very well filmed. Most sailboat tours, it's like the cameraman doesn't understand how to step back and show the environment. The owners take up 80% of every frame, unless they're giving a close up of some pointless detail. I don't want close ups; I want to see the living space and get a feel for what it's really like!

You are watching to learn so it you see switches and in other videos they are not tagged you don't know what they're for.

We moved from the US to Mexico - I feel like the biggest challenge to the whole effort was getting out of our house! Selling all our stuff, selling our house was so stressful and it took us about 18months to get out of all our responsibilities. We took my ill Mother with us so that was extra burden - getting her out of her apartment, selling her stuff, etc... I am so grateful we did it - no regrets.

Great questions! We definitely need to carry passports and visas and check in/out of every country just like any other form of travel. And yes, we can sail in the event of an electrical failure, we'd have to go old school and rely on paper charts and hand held VHF. No backup generators I'm afraid! But we'd manage :) - Nick & Terysa

Happiness isn’t achieved through anyone but yourself and your connection to self. If you have that, you’re more likely to attract a good partner. If you worry to much that she’s HOT...she might worry too much that you’re rich$$$. Get your priorities sorted and all will be well.

The world is changing and I see folks in many communities all searching for a new way to be happy. Living on the edges of some well defined communities. The tiny home community, the Van lifers and those who take to the sea. All seeking a better journey, a better road to travel and more options to enjoy. Nomads all...seekers of the real glue which challenges us all...
a life tethered to a regular job which does little to nourish the soul and the spirit...( yes, two different things), is hollow and it's reward must be paid to a bank and not ourselves (in the USA)...which leads to many other questions...
is futility. But a life where you must pray for wisdom, excercise strength of character, draw on strong work ethic and mastery of self to draw out the best in one another..where dependence is NOT a dirty word! THAT!...that is a full life and it is it's own reward!
When studying perma-culture I learned..."the MOST interesting things happen on the EDGES of
things" ...the edge of the woods, a meadow. a brook ...the edge of the ocean...the world...or where the sun drops into the water each evening where it quenches it's thirst and bring out an explosion of stars to steer a ship by!
      Edges!!!

HEY GUYS, I JUST DISCOVERED YOUR CHANNEL AND WATCHED THIS EPISODE. HOW WONDERFUL YOUR ADVENTURE IS AND I AM JEALOUS. BACK IN THE 90S I LIVED ON MY 43 FOOT SAILBOAT IN SAN DIEGO BAY AND HAD PLANS TO SAIL AROUND THE WORLD. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN BUT I DID GET OUT OF THE BAY A FEW TIMES. MY NEW WIFE AT THE TIME WANTED A DIFFERENT LIFE AND TO KEEP HER HAPPY WE MOVED OFF OF THE BOAT INTO A MOUNTAIN CABIN TO THE EAST OF SAN DIEGO AND PUT MY BEAUTIFUL BOAT UP FOR SALE.
LONG STORY SHORT, THE BOAT WAS STOLEN AND ENDED UP ON IT'S SIDE ABOUT 12 MILES OF THE COAST OF SAN DIEGO. BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO GET TO IT, IT HAD GONE DOWN IN 1500 FEET OF WATER. WITH NO WAY OF RETRIEVING IT, IT WAS THE END OF MY BOATING LIFE.
I DO MISS THAT LIFE AND HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT GOING BACK TO IT ESPECIALLY SINCE I DON'T HAVE THAT WIFE ANY LONGER. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THAT IS THAT I AM 72 YEARS OLD NOW AND IT WOULD PRETTY HARD FOR ME TO MAKE THAT ADJUSTMENT AGAIN. SO I WILL JUST HAVE TO BE HAPPY WATCHING YOU AND A FEW OTHERS DO YOUR SAILING. LOL
LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING A FEW OF YOUR PREVIOUS VIDEOS AND WATCHING ALL OF YOUR NEW ONES. HAPPY SAILING GUYS.

First time viewer, wow. After 25 years of city life, Houston TX, I too had enough, but my change to western PA pales in
comparison to yours. Best of luck.

Why can’t you just dump the number 2s in the ocean? I mean fish do that all the time in the ocean and it’s organic as well, why bother use a tank?

Once you're 12 miles offshore, you can. But you can't in inshore waters. There's international regulations about what you can and can't put overboard and how far offshore :)

I don't know how a boat system works, but in an RV, if you left the tank drain open all the time, the #2's would sit in a pile on the bottom and dry out, until you had a mountain. You need to have them floating in water to get them to flush out. It might be similar on a boat.

We lived on a 40ft trawler for 10 1/2 years. 40 ft makes a good living space and you can have guests from time to time. Great way to live.

I love the ocean, but not enough to live like you guys. But, I would enjoy the not being locked into a full time stressful career.

We did it in small steps. A few weeks at a time. Coastal cruising, and staying in Marina’s. Build up confidence then decide. It’s all possible.

Burn out is easy when you have experienced so much as a paramedic it's not the same your memory keeps that from happening. (former emt) We have a saying around here Terysa "paramedics save lives, EMT's save paramedics" lol true right. Lovely story and a lovely boat and I so enjoy your videos. :) peace
