Back in 1970 I was a US Marine stationed at the naval academy in Annapolis Maryland. I Acquired a 27’ Morgan sloop. Basically a day sail with a small cabin. The head was under the companionway steps. Same alcohol stove as you, but only a ice box. It had a 15 horse external saildrive. I spent many a weekend out on the Chesapeake Bay practicing my celestial navigation. There were no GPS back then. Still miss the water at 70 years old and bad health.

Lovely. 💜 We can relate as we live part time on a 1959 wooden cruiser (28 ft plus swim platform and dinghy make 32 ft), and part time at our 1940's A-frame cabin. Living simply and mindfully has been a blessing for us in many ways, especially savings and spending time together. You are so right about having value and purpose. We feel Those are critical. (Those sacrifices and challenges allowed us to retire at 56, and though Covid created some permanent health issues, we get to enjoy some travel--and of course times with friends and family.) So happy you both get to have this experience! :)
Sailing is not a piece of cake! I like the fact they put emphasis on what you have to face when you take the decision to live on a boat. Not only you need to be organized but also having a strong knowledge on ways to fixe everything! Great lesson!
Been watching this couple’s channel for several months now. Definitely worth following. Awesome lifestyle and they don’t sugarcoat it. They show the good the bad the ugly.

I had the most amazing adventures with them visiting them in all different corners of the world for weeks at a time during my summer vacations. I feel so lucky and so happy for them
The thought of living free and not being tied down to one spot is really appealing, what a great way to explore not only countries and other oceans and seas but also to experience LIFE with it's ups and downs, just think of the great memories that you can get out of this.
Wow. What a great story. The world is in good hands with young people like this. The message of not getting into debt by letting go of the old ideas of having the most, biggest, and greenest lawn on the block is hopefully over. They are showing us, along with what's happening in the world, right now, that we can do with much less. Thanks for bringing this story to us.
What they have done is quite worthwhile but far from unique. Joshua Slocum started it all when he circumnavigated aboard Spray from 1895~1898. Canvas sails, galvanized wire rigging, hemp rope, no winches, windlass or self steering gear.

I've pissed most of my life away, and will continue to do so. One day, not long ago, I realized that I failed my dreams of when I was young when I still had hope for the future. but those dreams are gone. ........There is no greater sorrow, than to recall happiness, in times of misery. it will go so fast. the thing called time. and as it ends, you will be left with nothing but regret .
Why not make a status: Look at the days you have in front of you instead of what is behind ... people do not need to be young to be happy - and use the days in front of you to their best - to make other happy and help them start on their dreams - and try to achieve the best for your self ...
Wow amazing. I have been living in my 25 foot class A Winnebago warrior motorhome now for 2 1\2 years filming. I have gone through 9 states traveling 30,000 miles. Not sure if I could ever live on the water but I love the way you guys are doing it.
The cockpit w/ bimini is so excellent. Your video has given me a whole different take on a 28' sailboat now. I had my sights set on a 1980 30' ketch, but a vessel like yours would be awesome too. I love the wide cockpit with ample deck space there. Superb. Sail on, sail on, sail on!

DolanOk Not sure about that mate. I did what you recommended, 3 times. Good or bad? I honestly don’t know. My great love in my youth told me to choose between her or my dream. My first wife was suffocating me not to fulfill my second dream. My second wife was not into my third dream. My current wife is not into sailing and adventures. I’m now passed 50 years and fulfilled my dreams. But was it worth it? I can still thinking what my life would become if I stayed with my first love. It is kind of painful today when I think of how I broke up with her. All though I do not know how I would feel if I’d turn down on my dreams. What I want to say is that although I fulfilled my dreams, I do miss the love they gave me, and regret the pain I gave them due to separation. Easy to say -Go for your dreams. And some times it’s called for sure. Just not every time

Your words shape your reality..
Why not make a status: Look at the days you have in front of you instead of what is behind ... people do not need to be young to be happy - and use the days in front of you to their best - to make other happy and help them start on their dreams - and try to achieve the best for your self ...
Beyond amazing, I like how you mentioned that you needed a purpose in life, and it's your RUclips channel, very inspiring
Thank you for showing me anything is possible
Wow amazing. I have been living in my 25 foot class A Winnebago warrior motorhome now for 2 1\2 years filming.
I have gone through 9 states traveling 30,000 miles. I started after beating kidney cancer. I travel with my little dog Tinkerbell. I will be 60 in may and love living on the road. Not sure if I could ever live on the water but I love the way you guys are doing it.
Inspiring. I'd find my own tiny base island in the Pacific. Just me.
I just love the both of you and hope we meet at a marina one day! God Bless You. Stay safe and well. sn
I hope u guys get mor subscribers. In a world where we all feel trapped with work and everything else it’s nice to see people who follow their hearts and dreams
Pretty amazing adventure, sending well wishes from Canada
Agree!
@@SailingAlma thank
This is the first video of yours I have watched and the straightforward, honest and sincere tone has me hooked/subscribed. Happy sailing.
She looks like Theresa Palmer.
So beautiful and the boat is nice too. ;-)
Though the vast oceans and seas are awesome and magical, but also quite terrifying, in stormy conditions, especially for such small boats ! But I do enjoy following the adventures of you brave sailors !
Thank you so much for this video! Such an inspiration!
Maya & Aladino have a lovely channel. It's definitely worth a watch.
I love the boat they own and love their life, I can't have the life like that because as a Asian, it is hard to have life like that, so the things I can do is, subscribe to them and dreaming all day long about boat sailing life and campervan life
We are all headed to the same destination. What makes each one's life special is the journey taken to that destination. Explore, on your journey.
Cool guy's, I have a friend that wants to do this. He keeps saving and working towards it.
He will fail.
This is probably the best small boat I've seen. You really made good use of the limited space.
Sweet! I just looked at one yesterday. Will def watch later.
You guys are fantastic !! I wish I had started yrs. ago . I will be 70 when I get started next winter. I expect to live another 15 yrs. or so and what better way to end it. I'm very excited and you guys are so helpful.
...wow sweet set up...also very epic blender-with-drill hack...ty headed over to sub..
What a refreshing look into your life...
As a it is my desire to be where you are in 7 years, thanks so much for the wealth of information that you both shared. Thanks you.

As someone terrified by dark waters, that would be a prison for me.
The fear lives in you and not in he water. So, you're already in that prison.
@@oceancrossingutopia deep.
@@kayciable Yeah, cheap Indian guru kind of deep.
@@oceancrossingutopia Duh, I thought fear was hiding somewhere and you actually had to look for it. Its almost as fear wasn't irrational sometimes.
Love the name too - Magic Carpet! That's what a sailboat should feel like.
Really cool. That’s what I want but my wife is not into sailing ⛵️
I'm sorry bud, but you gotta get a new wife :(
DolanOk
Not sure about that mate.
Just not every time
@@DolanOk hahahaha that's what I was thinking!
One of the best episodes! A Sailor's Life is the Best Life!
