    Nice project.! It was interesting to listen the results too!
    But there is one thing who asked me, it's about heat. Because the motor is inside the sealed box, small one at more,, it will accumulate heat and drive to an fatal issue.
    It's simple and easy to fix.
    You coudl resolve the problem in mouting the driver in inverse montage position, the motor in the 3th order section. The larger space and ports openings drive the heat out.
    Don't forget to inverse polarity for the same phase shift as before.
    Trust me, i'm a sound thecnician and speakers builder, clubs and domestic, and a large part in cars customisation.. all my life and now retirement.
    Have good time's

    • @JacobViral2

      Keeps motor/coil cooler but less cone pressure and smaller ratio.

  • @jeremymarcoux2499
    @jeremymarcoux2499 4 года назад +1

    Was .80cuft sealed the recommended factory sealed airspace for the sub? Just curious how you figure out the ratios.
    Also what are the advantages of bigger ratios is it that they have a higher peak but less bandwidth?
    Do the factory sealed/ported reccomended specs come in to play or do you just make it what you want as far as the ratio.
    Thanks

    • @JacobViral2
      @JacobViral2  4 года назад +1

      I started with that, I can go from 1.1 to anything less depending if I mount invert or regular and add wood. Ratio is just sealed vs. ported cubes. Bigger ratios give a higher louder peak but less bandwidth. You don’t account them factory concept on 4ths no and go more towards concept of the box design and tuning/specs. Trial and error for bandpass tbh.

    I don't agree at all with you saying you can't get the spl with a higher bandwidth s wuth a 6 order you could tune one port to say ,34hz while tuning the other port to 50 or higher and a 6-1 ratio 4th order with such a large opening and. A very short port your talking having a bandwidth almost non existent from 20-35 with it gradually rising about a DB per. 2-3hZ with a large peak starting at mid 50s--65-70 and flattening out all the way to about 85-90;hz I did. a. 4-1 with 2 directed comp x 15s walked off it was an extremely effecient box but I sacrificed alot of bottom end out put. Morning of nationals driving to event my sub amp blew so I had to run one of my mids n highs amps which. Where Phoenix Gold .Ms 2125's anyone who knows old-school amps knows how beautiful and clean these amps are. They were.never built to be a subwoofer amp they are class a/b amps and the Ms 2125 was rated at just that 2x 125 @4ohms and about 200 -225 x2. @ 2 ohms stereo I couldn't bridge it since My subs were. D4s each and no way would that amp take a 1 oHM. Load so I has to change classes down to. 301-500 pro class I believe that. Was the wattage class technically I should have been in lower watt class but you had to provide original Paperwork showing original factory specs for watts axk in those days for that Organization that starts with a M and rhymes with Becca but I still managed 152.8. NO that wasn't sealed on dash they put the mic down in kick and after that almost anything else was fair game open doors Windows up or down or any combination.of those I did doors closed with window opposite of mic about half way down. I. Ended up getting 2nd place at world nationals in proclass in that wattage bracket which I think was 301-500 from what I can remember meanwhile plaque is 15' from me.but I'm half asleep in bed n plaque is hangin on the wall about 15' From bed almost halfway to the Other end of my bedroom. if I'm not correct About the wattage class I Will either. Edit. This comment of post new.one.

      @@JacobViral2 yes sir. Anywhere air is moving. Internal bracing and all. I can always hear a difference plus it adds a small amount of efficiency

    these boxes tend to be sub killers... makes it hard to hear sub crying for help.... these boxes are not at all for sound quality ..... did not here what the box is tuned to... but at 1/2 ohm ... sound quality gets worse the lower you go... ported is 3 db louder then sealed... and much safer then 4th orders and above... but good experiment.... way to much work for single 10 inch sub... reminds me of BOSE most volume out of the smallest driver possible... and horrible sound quality

      Thats alot going on for one 10inch sub and looks like a apartment under construction inside. All it needs now is some tile, carpet, paint, bathroom, drapes and some furniture.

      Just a project system with a single 10” not worried about space.

      Quantity of subwoofers, amps, wall systems, & size doesn't equal quality.
      Jacob is aiming for SOUND QUALITY & ability to adjust his enclosure for the genre of music he
      is listening to. Bandpass, tranmission line, 4th order, 6th order
      enclosures are more difficult to design, tune, & execute but are more
      efficient & sound quality is phenomenal using less subwoofers,
      less wattage. Ear buds > headphones.
