@@LudietHistoria What's hilarious is that would have been the response of several real life nations in the time that EU4 is set. "How do you feel about the Habsburgs?" *long pause* "You dare mention them here, to the dungeon!"
Just little fun note. -15% cost doesn't allow you to take 15% more. It means you can take stuff for 17/20 of the cost. Then you have to invert that which comes down to 20/17 or 1 3/17 or roughly 1.176 so 17.6% more. Percentages are fun. Mostly because we write +x% or -y% but actually mean *(1+x/100) or *(1-y/100). Edit: Could have worked with 100 instead of 20 but comes down to the same.
That is true, but only if you start at 100% cost. If you have more modifiers, getting 15% cost reduction when you only have 50% cost left, you have 35% cost of the "original" cost, so that's like 30% of the cost before you took the extra modifier
@@FoggyMcFogFace Sorry, missed your reply. I was focusing on the matter of using inverse units. In this example speed and time. I didn't want to open the can of worms that are percentile modifier. I couldn't find an article in English on the topic so my terminology may be wrong. There's basically two ways to use them. Additative (or wrong but more common) where you add all modifiers together and then apply them to the base value and multiplicatively (correct but less common) where you treat each modifier as a multiplication with 1 +/- x/100. And then there's another level of confusion if you introduce absolute modifiers as well. The results will be different because (a + b) * c != a + (b * c).

Carthago Delenda Est Achievement is an easy one. The question is how you want to do it because you will pretty much ruin your run, so ether the start of one or the end. What you have to do is do bankrapsies, one after an other. Each bankrupsy gives 10 devestation in your entire nation. Make sure that you stay poor so you will fall in a bankrupsy immediately next month or so. This strat usually gets around a year to accomplish the achievement.

Something i don't like is that they are not going to change the ottomans at all in king of kings, whenever i play Russia i am never able to to defeat the ottomans even when i have more troops, and i'm just going to be honest decadence doesn't work, it only kicks in during the age of absolutism and even than it barely has an affect on them and they continue snowballing, the only way to stop them as Russia is fight them before mil tech 5 which is basically impossible unless you are very experienced, i really hope they nerf ottomans because i love playing Russia but The ottomans always vassalize crimea and i have to fight them or they just randomly attack me and their troops just crush me
I don't know man. For being such a strong start, I see the Ottobros popping off *ONLY* like 70% of the time when I'm not in Europe. Last game I even saw Venice taking over their lands, while the Mamluks just took some from the east. As always, the trick to deal with them is to vassalize or release Byzantium, then fed them the land to the west of Anatolia as soon as you feasibly can, you can even release Bulgaria to eat them faster if you want. This opens them up to rebels, issues with moving troops and being attacked by Christians without being able to counter them. But yeah, the decadence mechanic is (imo) a tool to make them go from hurt to crippled to "60k janissary rebel stacks in a 10 province nation"; not a way to stop them from growing up.
Either you suck or you don’t know what you are doing. As Russia you should either no-CB Byz at the start or be super-aggressive and get good allies, so that the Ottos don’t even dare to attack. It’s much easier to do than you think. Recently formed Rum and was never troubled by Ottos. Now the “easy” solution if you want to role-play and go solo vs Ottos is to plunge your economy in the gutter and get loans and mercs. Beat them 2-3 times, release and reconquer Byz and Bulgaria, and then they are a paper tiger no matter how big they are, because you only need to bleed them dry once for Austria and the Mams to pile up on them as soon as you finish your victorious war
