Twenty Five years back the poachers of Periyar Tiger reserve repent and joined hands with the forest officials in protection of PTR. Now, we can say PTR is free of poachers and one that reason is these Ex poachers service to the forest dept.
While we dig into the causes of poaching we could identify unemployment of the main factor leading them to the illegal life. Now, they are proudly living as forest watcher and running the prestigious wildlife tourism program called ‘ Tiger Trail’ arguibly the best forest trekking and camping program available in India.
