Nice!
I've been there many times. I've stripped down close to 20 humvees now and I mean stripped down Removing everything seats, B pillar, C pillar, windshield, hood, even remove the wheels and put the humvee up on to wheel dollies. Some of them we completely removed from the frame. We even Drill some of the cables and stuff out and it's definitely a project but that's the easy part. Once everything is removed down Doing all the prep work in body work sanding and all that kind of stuff that takes a long time .Then when it comes time to reassemble take your time so you don't mess up the new paint job.
It's nice to see you a video series of you recording what it takes to get it done! Out of all the humvees I've done I've never done that so my hats off to you for taking the time to do it.
Keep it up you're doing great!
Tyson Capel Thanks buddy! I appreciate it! It would be cool to do a frame off restoration like that on my slant back some day!
DakotaXPRO Absolutely.
We use a specialized rubberized coating that no one else out there who does Humvee restoration uses. It's durable like bed liner but extremely flexible and it sticks super well. It's similar to line X but a lot more flexible. You coat the frame and all parts that you can with the stuff then change out all the bolts to stainless steel at least as much as you can because of course there's things it wouldn't be practical to use it on and if you do that you're humvee will last a long long time especially there in Florida where there's more salt in the soil.
That would be awesome to see you do the slant back humvee for sure. I enjoy watching your videos.
That would be awesome to do some day! Thanks a lot man!
awww yiss another upload, these are greater than great

Christopher W. Some day man!
Great project ! :-)
Looks like I'm also interested in humvee repairing............ I wish i could also own a humvee
Try preparing the nut and bolts with some WD40 OR rust removers way few days before dismantling that will make the job easy.
Bala Blue I will definitely spray some PB blaster on there or something in the future, thanks for the input!
Cool Video, which colors for that Beast??
Hello I'm from Germany and can not find infoformation about the 6.2 and 6.5 engine. I would like to buy a Hummwv and in Germany some have the 6.2 motor these are up to 5000 ¬ cheaper, the 6.2 is so bad ? and it must necessarily be a 6.5? regards Sven
TheBuildBreakDowns in my opinion the 6.2 is stronger than the 6.5. The 6.2 can withstand more abuse and punishment than the 6.5. People just like the 6.5 engines because they are newer and they have slightly more power.
TheBuildBreakDowns the newer 6.5 GEP engines do have more improvements and are even better but I’d just go with the 6.2 engine. They are pretty reliable and less expensive.
Thanks a lot for your answer and an honest opinion. if I have one, I will make a video and let you know .
Best regards 🙋🏼♂️
No problem! Good luck & I’ll be waiting for that video 😁
Humvee begitu di pasaran harga nya berapa??
If you were getting paid 50cts an hour you could buy a new pickup , right ha ha !
