We purchased our Humvee through govplanet. And when we finally received it the Humvee was damaged. We should of payed the extra for the insurance they smashed the oil pan, probably using a forklift and also damage driver side front corner of the hood . And yes it does take about 4 months to get.
I'm Brazilian, I do not speak English, I used the Google translator. Some time I research how to buy a hummer and I came across your report and would very much like to understand more. Do you have somehow put a caption so I can translate? I thank you.
Yves Helbert disculpe mi espanol no se Portuguese. Equipo de military no se puede vender afuera de el nacion. Yo creo que si queros un humvee necitas buscar un hummer que nunca era del military (h1). O comprar de otro nacion??
way to go Marc8. how did you know the language in brazil is Spanish? i heard a rumor that they tend to speak Portuguese in brazil. goes to show you can’t trust the rumor mill, right? you are so sweet to chat with this person in their native language.
Why does govplanet take so long to get titles out? My EUC was approved 26 March 2017. STILL waiting for title on 10 June. They really need to start the title process with in a day or two of ECU clearing not a month later. I've had a M998 sitting here for over two months with no title
I don’t knows about 4 years ago when this video was published but you can’t find humvees like this on govplant now. 4K + for humvees non running or no tans/transfer case !!
I have been watching the bidding on this site for some time now, I think they have fake bidding to drive the price up. Also I've seen some of the same trucks (Same S/N) pop back up for sale 2 or 3 months down the road after being sold for an overly high price. Could it be someone making bids on something they cant afford maybe, or could it be dreamers who bid with no intent to buy? Not sure but do your home work with thousands of these trucks being released by the military you can be picky about what you buy and Waite for a good price. Also look on Ebay or craigslist a lot of guys sell them after winning them because 1. Some states wont let you Register them. 2. AM general will NOT sell you parts! 3. The cool factor where's off. 4. Most people find they don't like the way they drive. ( I do its a truck not a caddy ) And last but not least #5 Wife wants it out of driveway.
@@rollinghumvee2283 I will. It's just a dream at the moment, as I'm getting back on my feet. Once Im in a better position I will definitely be getting one
You're right Daniel, no law against having a bullet proof vehicle...BUT you can't buy one from the military. This page has a good explanation of what the rules are. olive-drab.com/od_mvg_auctions_demil.php
Why can civilians have bullet proof vehicles if they pay $300,000 to have one custom made, but a surplus vehicle has to be destroyed in order to be sold? This smells of GOV waste.
I'm glad you said this, because I was about to buy a humvee, but screw that, not only do they de-mil it, they make it to where you cannot add new bulletproof glass
I think if something terror related happens they can’t get blamed for it. The dumb thing is that u need to do a background check just to purchase probably the slowest vehicle in your town.
GOVPlanet hires complete idiot's to handle the equipment! Be aware! So, if you buy ANYTHING other than. HMMWV with driveshafts I GUARANTEE they will be bent as they handle all equipment with a forklift from the side. So, when you view the photos and everything looks good rest assured when you go pick it up you WILL have 2 bent driveshafts! Second, I picked up 3 generators from PA and as I was literally complaining about the mishandling of equipment and employee behind the one I was talking to dropped a 10K trailer mounted unit on it's side from about 8 feet off ground! If you think you're going to pick it up within a week or two of paying for it, forget about it! Expect 4 to 6 months until you get clearance to pick it up.
Agree! It is what was NOT told in this video, is the important things. Examples: 1.) Many, if not most of these surplus Mil. HMMWVs have been rebuilt/refurbished/refreshed or whatever term you choose to describe "MESSED WITH" over a decade or more. 2.) When they get "MESSED WITH" very often the Speedometer/Odometer is replaced, therefore you the actual/true miles that HMMWV has been driven us unknown to the Bidder/Buyer. If the Speedometer/Odometer does not have the name "FIARA Corp." on the face, it is not the original. 3.) GovPlanet REMOVES all of what they determine to be military equipment (Ballistic Protection), but do NOT install protection to make these frontline combat HMMWVs safe for on-road use.
I saw Bob's HMMWV on one of the storage lots while he was waiting on the EUC to clear when I went to pick up one of mine. It was pretty rough!

Now the truth comes out. Lots of hype in the sales video, pig in a poke 😂🐷

Was this originally made as an infomercial? Sure seems like it.
That the government demils HMMWVs and won't let regular citizens have armor is a joke.
Great video and thank you for the help.
And 7 to 9 months later you'll have your Humvee that you immediately paid for lol 😆
Probably even longer.
You should have asked why does it take 6 to 8 months to get release after you win auction.

where do i get a govplanet hat?
why would you remove the bullet proof armor? I don't believe it's illegal to have a vehicle that is bullet proof.

25k for a dissected de- milled worn out Humvee?
I assume they don’t want it to be used for something nefarious like a terror attack. And it’s a liability issue.
