You can lay the bike over on its side with the clutch cover facing up to change the clutch without losing any oil. Might not be the best for filming though.
Don't use the kickstarter to much without the decompression cable hooked up it will cause the gears for the kicker shaft on the inside of the crank case to strip out I've bought 4 really cheap xr200's over the years because of that and it's a real pain to fix
Thanks for the heads up! I found the cable, arm, cam that goes on the inside, but that damn spring that’s also on the inside of the cover is almost impossible to find without buying an entire used decomp system for stupid money.
@@Garage2Trail I looked through my extra parts tub and I've got a really nice clutch cover assembly that would just need the 2 oil seals replaced, has the decompression bolt/arm/spring and I've tossed in a couple extra clutch cover bolts since you're missing one,if I can figure out how to get ahold of you I'll send you some free parts for your xr200r project
the little bit of stuff I've bought from Caltric has been fine. Some guys complain about it, but all good for me.
Same here, it worked great on my 83 XR200 as well!
great work
I appreciate it!

Nice job m8.
Thanks Andy!
Good job brother
Thanks!
How did you keep the crankshaft from turning when you undid the oil filter nut?
I just used an impact gun which will usually zip it off without having to hold, but you can put a penny in the gears to hold it in place too.
Some clutch baskets have to be aligned in a particular position so 2 marks line up, that's not the case with this bike?
I didn’t see any mention of that in the manual

@hairlessharescrambler56 oh wow, that is really awesome of you man. Thank you so much!
Another great video! How many bikes do you have in your collection?
Thank you! I think I’m up to 18 all spread around to different garages and storage areas 😆
@Garage2Trail Nice! Cool older bikes you just don't see anymore!
Are you a mechanic by trade
Nahh just do this stuff for fun
