I think we’re at a period in time where health & fitness has been made way more complicated and way more controversial than it needs to be. And one of my favorite things to do is to try and simplify overly complicated topics. So, I’m going to say this very plainly. Being fit or getting fit is one of the absolute best things you can do for yourself in your lifetime - period. It’s one of the highest forms of self-respect, self-care and self-discipline - anyone who says otherwise is either genuinely misguided or intentionally misleading.
I wanted to make a video to try and meet just about any woman wherever she is on her fitness journey to help her get in the best shape she can, for herself! And I’m so thrilled that so many of you are interested in talking about and tackling this rather than shying away from it. I hope this video really simplifies the basics of health and fitness and can help get you going on your personal fitness journey!

As a clinician, I love how you gave the facts but with love. You have to meet people where they are! Speak with your physician first (your current health status and any medications you're taking will impact your weight-loss), create a game plan with small actionable goals, and show up for YOU everyday. ❤

I appreciate you mentioning the women who want to gain weight. As a short women who is a bit underweight and been trying to gain weight since my teenage years it’s nice to see it mentioned! It’s extremely hard for me to gain weight and it effected my mental health and my relationship with men. As much as us women are judged when we are “fat” we also are seen “not womanly “ when we are thin with no curves. It’s extremely difficult on an emotional level.

You are truly in your own lane as a creator! It's common in feminine/level up content to talk about minding our fitness, but I've never seen anything this in depth and this helpful. This is my first time hearing about these body types. I think I'm a mesomorph. I'm really inspired to try some of this and drop this extra 10-15 pounds and go from average to fit. Will report back! Needed this motivation! I’ve been taking SO MUCH better care now that I LEFT my 8yr toxic relationship and baby daddy. He would ridicule and yell at me Everytime I went to the gym and didn’t call or text him before or after. He would even call me WHILE I was at the gym! Before we get together I was always working out and taking care of myself and he quickly would shame me as if I was doing it for men’s attention or trying to “look single in the streets”. Getting back to me is healing.

I can't thank you enough for talking about intermittent fasting. I decided to give it a go because of your video. It has made a drastic change to my cellulite. I have been working out consistently with heavy weights for a year and a half but the cellulite didn't want to budge. My cellulite has now been reduced by at least half and my muscles are really starting to show definition. The best thing is I didn't have to change my diet at all, just rearrange the time I eat slightly. The extra energy and mental clarify from fasting is awesome as well.

You're a Gem, I have had a bit too much weight and I do enjoy my sweet treats that I bake myself don't get me wrong, but my weight is due to an accident involving knees and back, that hospitalised me for a while, my medications side effects and lower mental health due to it as well, its definitely not who I used to be, I used to kick a$$ in MMA, kick boxing and all sorts but I get judged because of my 20kg too much that I got over the 3 years of needing to rest my body due to the accident. Thank you for stating that! I've been doing physio and am only now allowed to start up more harsh training, I hope to be kicking a$$ like a boss gal again some day

Before you change your diet, please do a full blood check! You may have hormonal issues, thyroid or blood sugar imbalances. Also if you’re planning on conceiving be careful with Keto, for some women it is too low for their needs. So I didn’t love that part of the video. Also consider sustainability of whatever you do,if you cannot see yourself eating like that in the long term- do not do it!! Mu weight ballooned when I would incorporate carbs. So please do a blood check first.
However, I like that idea of creating a beginner, intermediate and then advance plan.

There was one point I was really missing in the diet section of this video. And that is to control the amount of highly processed foods we take in. Yes, cooking from scratch takes a lot of time, but instance meals that just need to be heated in the microwave or oven usually contain added sugar, way too much salt and a bunch of unhealthy fats while having little to no micronutrients. A similiar argument goes for the sweets we consume, they have lots of sugar and litte to no micronutrients (yes, I am looking at you, gummybears). My favorite alternative to sweets are smoothies. Because they have a similar amount of natural sugar as sweets while still allowing me to get in some vitamins and other micronutrients. A great way to avoid highly processed foods is to buy foods where we know all the ingredients and preferably even have all of them at home.
I am not saying we should all have a perfectly wholesome diet all the time. Of course we need to eat some cake or chicken nuggets time to time. I simply feel like the first step to healthy eating is to cut the unhealthy crap and get into some 80/20 diet where we eat healthy foods about 80% of the time. And while I don't have personal experience I am quite sure that this can help loosing weight as well since highly processed food tends to be calory dense, so when we start eating more wholsomely we need to eat more volume to take the same amount of calories in, makeing it easier to not overeat. It also means we eat more slowly as in: it takes us longer to eat the same amount of calories. And finally: it trains us to eat intentionally. And intentionality puts us in the driver seats of our lives and helps us build confidence.
