Great break down of each shoe. No experience with these brands but great price sales price points for experimenting with monk straps. Btwn the 2 Blake stitched featured, I agree BS almond/round toe box over SS chiseled toe and H&MP suede over the CH. It's been said that low quality suede looks better than low quality leather. Also, due to it's casual texture, suede is very easy to wear. Also, the H&MP would be a great shoe to experiment on if one wanted to add some oil to either toe box/ heel cup or all over.
I've bought a pair of the reid low top leather sneakers in a size 12 from BS. I am not sure but after doing some research think I have wide feet. The upper usually makes noise when I walk, they don't feel super comfortable but are more comfortable than vans or chucks. This is pretty easy to replace but I also think the laces were too short (possibly because of sizing). I've been thinking of getting a pair of brown brogues from Allen Edmonds or Carmina. Do you feel that there's a specific style/type of shoe from Beckett Simonon that are still worthwhile?
the Reids came with cushioned sole inserts, right? as for the noise, what kind of noise. I have a pair of Reids and they are just fine. I have the Durant brogues and Dean oxford which I recommend both, and the cohen loafer if you're into those.
@@gentwithin I'm not an expert but it looks like the upper is being stretched out repeatedly causing the noise. And yes they did come with cushioned sole inserts
Is it like a popping noise, like it's collecting air in the insole or is it like a squeaky noise. the only leather shoe I have that makes noise is actually a boot, my allen edmonds dalton is notoriously squeaky because of the leather overlapping, but I've never experienced that with my Reid and they are a touch big on my feet. But if the laces are short, it could be just because of short laces. I don't imagine wide feet stretch the shoes out to the point the laces are shortened.
Great review, Although my tastes are different to yours. Light colored Suede monks, not my cup of tea. They look like UGGs from POV. Cole Haans never fit me well, always too tight in wrong places. The Hoyt monks in Bordeaux looked the best in that lineup imho.
They work on a MTO (made to order) model in which they do not hold any inventory. Once an order is placed they then craft the shoes, hence the 3 month wait period. If you can wait, great. If not, BS probably isn't the best option for you.

Agree with you there on the suede sentiment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts as always!
Hi! Awesome video, thanks. I really like the grey suede H&M . Do you have a link so I may purchase them online? I’m size US10, EU 43. Cheers
the link is provided in the video! although it's the black version. they sold out of the grey suede
I have slender feet and wondering if double monk straps would be too loose bc there usually only 2 adjustments ?
not at all. they fit similar to shoes with laces, plus you can adjust the tightness of the straps.
Great video Khoi! shame H&M doesn't have those suede ones anymore. Totally up my ally.
thanks Darien! not sure why they never restocked...
Like the Beckett looking to get my first pair of double monks.
that's great. which colorway are you thinking?
@@gentwithin Probably a brown or burgundy color.
good call!
Ace Marks is 👍

Hey man, thanks for the comment!
Why does Beckett Simonon say shipping in June? I’d like to get a pair before then

handm wins... 70 dollars for made in europe are you kidding me. easy to pull of day to day
Would never buy a cemented shoe like that. I'll buy their fun new hybrid shoes but not for a real pair of shoes.
cool
They’re all garbage shoes that will fall apart
