I think the best way to start your product review channel is to start reviewing products that you have already tested for a long time. You don't need to buy new products and gadgets to review, just use what ever you have and share your knowledge about them with the rest of the world.

Very true stick to what you know and are good at however sometimes people can get misguided on youtube on certain peoples video and sometimes you just get trolled. Ive had one video with bad feedback which I was a bit surprised on? Although yes I can see why possibly. Even still had much more positives than negatives thus far on my small channel.

Thanks Sean - I started my product review channel this year. I had my share of affiliate rejections trying to get approved before the channel was big enough. As far as tips that I have learned: 1.) Focus on solid content. Perhaps a different style of presenting the review, or performing some sort of measurement on the item you are reviewing that no one else took the time to perform. 2.) Create supporting content such as tutorials or updates.

I started my channel in January and am still just reviewing products that I already own. I've bought a couple of things but for the most part its stuff I've had for a while. Strangely enough, the first video I made turns out to be my highest viewed product review video as apparently the product is more popular than I'd anticipated. I am proud of my first video because i just STARTED. It is far from my best, but it got me started.
To also keep from not being consistent I do videos every 2 weeks, I have a 2 year old and a wife and family is important to me. Also, as I don't have a large budget I don't want to run out of items to review. Get started guys, don't over think it!

    Hi Sean.
    I have question please,
I started with my channel a few weeks ago
I am working on the backing track for guitarist musicians...
Since yesterday I am approved by Amazon affiliate...
I am using for my recording lot of guitar amps, effects, guitars, and these things have a potential to sell.
    Question
Can I fill out under my recorded songs amazon affiliate link? example..
I used for recording this guitar - amazon link
I used this mic - amazon link.
    + disclaimer
Is this way legal for both side Amazon and youtube?
I do not make product review right now but I have plan for future to review musicians things
but right now I am working on tracks :)
I am looking forward on your answer.
    Tomas from Slovakia.

Know your competition. If you want to make a product review - search what kind of videos other people have made of the same product. Study what works and what doesn't. Do you have something they don't? If yes that's your way in. If you are doing the same review everyone else has done months ago - you are on weak ice.

I would also like to add that you have to study about the particular product that you are reviewing. You have to be almost professional about it, say all the negative and positive things about it. What's also important is that your English should be well understandable also for non native English speakers.
