    Ohhhh, this was nocturne!
So beautiful, wondered what genre was this for long.
That explains...when there's a song that just melts your heart away and pulls your soul within it, it's most likely a nocturne.
Another romantic sentimentalist - nevertheless his requirements will rip my fingers away...so much high-expected...
Love you both, Chopin and Liszt ;>

there's a reason this section is written outside of any bars or rhythm specification. You can pretty much play it at whichever speed you want. Sure, it's probably meant to be crazy fast - but don't let those two fill sections keep you from learning this wonderful piece! I've been able to play the piece for some years now, I'm still slow at those two fills, and I don't even mind that anymore :)

      reminiscences de norma
      funerailles
      dante sonata
      his consolations
      his other liebestraums
sonata in b minor (my favorite)

      Harmonies poétiques et religieuses
      dante symphony
      faust symphony
      La lugubre gondola
      Nuages gris
and a lot of other stuff that I dont know because there are over 600 compositions by liszt
you should check out some of his virtuoso works also.

@@kellikim3850That is possible. I would agree that the b-minor-Sonata is probably one of Liszts deepest works, but (since I never played it) I don't know if really all technical difficulties serve for musical purposes. Altough since it is a piece of Liszts middle to late period the probabilitiy that at least a lot of those are, is quite high.

Much as I love Liebestraum, which I have been playing for many years, I think that Liszt's arrangement of Schumann's Widmung is even more profound. In performance of this musical dedication by Schumann to his beautiful wife Clara, it doesn't get any better than that of Daniil Trifonov.

Do not dare to say that when you don't even know anything about them!
Chopin is the sentimentalist, and Liszt is full of romance.
Chopin's is full of melodies but not so much techniques.
But no one can ever bear Liszt with such short fingers and weak-founded techniques.
Liszt requires you to play every note he wants. He's such a high-expecting, romantic artist.
