This video is about two Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 rally cars I saw in the past 2 years during the 2013/2014 Rally Legend and the 2013/2014 Revival Valpantena here in Italy.
Not think these are 100% original 205 T16s but anyway is simply a pleasure to see them especially with the Evo 2 configuration.
The 205 T16 Evo 2 was moved by a 1.8 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a power of 500 bhp (maybe even more) on a car that just weighs 900 kgs.

Certainly one of the craziest rally machines ever. Audi may have brought four wheel drive to rallying, but Peugeot perfected it. Mid engine. Crammed the unit in the top corner of the bay, the gearbox and centre diff next to it. Monstrous turbo sat on top, viscous coupling and rear diff behind. It's a masterpiece of packaging. The block interestingly was based on the legendary XUD diesel engines for strength!
lol ! when you take a diesel block to convert it to petrol, you know there is some serious compression and power 😆
I swapped my 205 gti 1.9 for a stroke 2.1 xud iron block diesel engine convert to a gasoline... with a 8v head, injection from a opel corsa... tbi from a golf gti 😂😂😂😂... really aspirated is another car and i say goodbye from xu aluminium blocks problems
And Lancia fixed the only flaw with that car, the turbo lag

@John Thomas You're talking about the road car's value. A works T16 (either E1 or E2) is worth around twice your figures.
Like another comment already said..most likely didn't want to crash/wreck it. A lot of $ right there n just to make a video (like this) idk, not worth it. Got the footage needed, car and driver still in one piece, win win.

The car with the UK plates (channel island car) is a genuine factory evo2. It's used at a lot of historic events. Even the shot of the engine bay shows all the Peugeot sport parts that are colour coded.

Everyone shut up about that guys driving, it's a priceless car, even if it's a replica, he's most likely dumped hours into it. Some people don't wanna hoon around in their priceless and centimental machines, sometimes it's nice to take a drive in your cars home turf, whether your fast or not.

Sshhh, common folk do not know Peugeot's company makes interiors for all the 'premium' brands. Renault delivers the engines and is working closely with Nissan. Been a Peugeot user for nearly 20 years, not a single complaint.
Know why Audi and BMW users do not say hi to their mechanic? Because they saw him today already.
Being a former owner of an MI16 from those times, I respectfully tend to agree. It was just a road legal car not a monster-class car like this T16 but it also packed some heavy punch for its time. Peugeot offers none of its kind, or any sort of exciting design, for long.

Damn those things are worth a fortune these days. I think this original T16 would cost you over 50k € They are just legends with very little of them still alive today. Even less of those that are original, maybe under 100 of them.
A real t16 série 200 today... 200k€. And a Beast like an evo 1 or 2 for rallye... Add a 0 i think

🤔 this is not the rally I've been looking for! Its just normal person driving replica on road in safest environment just to get the feel of rally. Not saying that i didn't like the video but even i can drive faster than him in narrow streets 😅. By the way video is good. So thumbs up for the person who done the hard work!🙂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

If i ever come to having a large ass sum of money, i'm purchasing a T16. Sod modern cars with their overengineering, give me 450bhp and awd in a 205 with a dhimma kit and a huge ass wing.
0.31 check out the bulkhead where it meets the side of the vehicle. they look like pressed panels, if this aint an original, its as good as! the exhaust sounding different to the originals is down to the driver and that alone, is the guy behind the wheel learning to drive in it or something? what a bell cheese......
