The more I watch these nostalgia videos, the more I think the late 80s to the late 90s was probably the sweet spot for ALL sports, be they motor racing, football, golf, rugby etc. etc. It was the era before far too much money came into sport, there was still a degree of the stars being "within reach", and great, charismatic commentary from the Walkers, Motsons, Allisses and Carpenters of this world with terrestrial TV coverage that made it accessible to almost all. Great stuff, wonderful memories and happy days
If just one race summed up the BTCC in the Super Touring era, the last race of 1992 surely encapsulates it all. Could watch it every day and still be on the edge of my seat biting my nails not knowing what would happen next. Never see good times like this again
I think technology-wise as well the 90s were the golden age of motorsport. It was the transition point between the old world and the modern one. Modern tech was starting to come in and cars were starting to become seriously capable machines, but there was enough old-tech jank that they were still absolutely wild machines. Chassis, aerodynamics and suspension were still relatively simple compared to today, and you would still see cars right on the ragged edge of controllability.

Back when the BTCC was exiting, instantly recognisable cars and plenty of door handle banging, surpassed only by the 80s and the dominance of the Sierra Cosworth, also the v8 action from Bathurst, happy days
Raced in my late teens , this was the best racing to watch . Then go race lol rqn ITS and ITC cars , now in my 49s I've built a few of these cars in radio control versions. Platos laguna , menus mondeo etc. Super fun the other guy I race with alot built some btcc rc cars and we recreate 90s btcc races on a regular
I like this Era of touring cars. So much fun.
Murray Walker was the icing on the cake for this era of racing. Before my time unfortunately.
I was a little kid on the other side of the Atlantic during this, but discovered Super Touring era BTCC from watching Aiden Millward and found old races on RUclips, when I first got access to Speed Channel in 2011 and watched that era of BTTC I wasn't impressed especially not knowing the history of the series, felt same about DTM, but absolutely loved the Aussie V8 Supercars.
@@PaperBanjo64 same for me too, loved aussie V8s they were a spectacle to watch
@michaelgoodwin593 yeah wish they came on American TV still, even if Shane Van Gisbergen races in NASCAR now
As an American I can agree 90's BTTC is amazing, rough rowdy racing with the commentary of Murray Walker...what's not to like!?
I was blessed to grow up watching this era of Motorsport.
Howling v10s in F1
Group N and the rise of Japanese teams in wrc
The era of the clk get, F1, Porsche gt1, lister etc etc in lemans.
And this, the pinnacle of British touring cars in my opinion.
Truly blessed.
Found this on FB with you credited, came for the full video. Greatest racing category in its greatest era. The nostalgic TOCA intro music... masterpiece of an add in 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
2:24 THAT SCREAM
Great, real Toca Touring Car PC 😊, A.Menu, J.Bintcliffe, J. Cleland and rest 😊😊😊
90s BTCC is arguably the greatest motor racing of all time.
This was the best ear of motorsport imo, and the best class of racing
I'll be forever grateful I was raised by these vehicles and drivers rather than what we have today. What a time for motorsport, and I got to enjoy it at the best time I could've done, as a kid! :)
What a time it was to watch BTCC and Murray Walker’s commentary made it even better
More exciting thanthe modern f1.... Used too watch all these, didn't realise they are all on you tube..... This is the best era of saloon car s. Bobby_G
Wait what? He has the races uploaded? Time for a nostalgia binge!
This is so legendary to the point o feel my goosebumps bump
Really great times! I was a huge fan of Btcc, DTM, ITC and italian and german tourng car championships. Thanks a lot for sharing these memories, really sweet to me😊😊😊
that reminds me of the old VHS I had back in the 90s with compilation of races with the same kind of music in background. Wich started my love for motorsport
F-ing amazing back then! Still love to see these replays!
The Golden era of touring cars, this cars where very popular in national championships, as same as Btcc ,in my country, Spain, the best era of the Spanish championship was the supertouring cars in the 90s.I want to buy some scale models of BTCC/supertouring cars for my collection. The music, the amazing images, Murray Walker, the cars sound, I finally found the perfect video!!!! 👌👍
Acho que foi a melhor epoca do automobilismo. Varios sedans de varias marcas disputando
