    I am starting a 009 layout, and I am taking lots of inspiration from your C+DR. I really like your paint schemes and they look great on your engines

    Brilliant video and I love the railway. Just wondering, what chassis do you use underneath the Leek & Manifold 2-6-4T. I'm thinking of doing one myself and would like to know how to make a chassis that brilliant. Thanks.
    Thomas.

      Apologies for my late reply - I do not log in very often and just saw your query of last year.
      The chassis was made from an etched Backwoods Miniatures chassis kit that I severely hacked about. The cranks were supplied by a friend who makes them with a laser cutter, and the valve gear is by RT Models. There is a whole topic about it on the NGRM-online forum, on which you have to register.

    How much driving time do you have between the stations ?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  5 лет назад

      Station to station time is a few minutes. Length of run between main stations is 15 metres - over 1 kilometre in the real world.

    what type of engine is Robert the bruce?

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  7 лет назад

      Robert the Bruce is a freelance model loosely based on British Colonial prototypes. Hence the cowcatchers and the big headlights.

      Ted Polet I meant like, his engine configuration number. like 2-4-0.

    • @tedpolet5431
      @tedpolet5431  7 лет назад

      Ah, now I understand. Originally it was built like a 2-6-4T, later altered to a 2-6-2T which looks better.

      Ted Polet thanks ted! I plan on building a 009 layout sometime in the future, and I'm gather information on layouts and engines. the C&DR looks amazing!

      Thanks - remember this is a large 009 locomotive, built using an old Arnold N gauge chassis and a Triang TT 'Jinty' body, from the 1960s. Most 009 models are smaller than this. Good luck with your layout plans - you might consider joining the 009 Society.
