The permanent flaw of Rebels is that it's too focused on Ghost's crew, thus anyone of it is "untouchable". I knew that rebel pilots "what's their names" may die, but also knew that whatever happens Bridger will be OK.Sure, in The Clone Wars many characters had 'plot armor' and nobody could kill Kenobi or Palpatine, but the episodes very often focused on individual clones or non-movie Jedi. Fives, Tups and co. weren't main heroes enough that I felt it's impossible for plot and audience reasons to kill them (bah, they all died!) but they were protagonists of quite many episodes and I somewhat grew attached to them and cared if they live or die. Sometimes the "bad guys were winning by killing the good guys. Here it's always our few immortal Spectres and expendable one-time rebel cannonfodder around them, and since killing the good guy would wipe out a character without whom this show wouldn't have worked, by must the bad guys can never win decisively.I'm not saying I don't enjoy the show, it too has it's brilliant moments. Just a bit of unpredictability would do it great.
Well something will happen to Ezra and Kannan... presumibly in season 5 as thats where it should get to Scarif/Yavin.. something that gets both of them out of the map and well known to Tarkin From the rest Sabine and Zev might die as well.. only Hera and Chopper are the ones confirmed to survive up to Scarif
I think Clone Wars had more room to have other characters (Countless number of Clones and even Jedi). Whenever I saw the main characters (Rex, Ahsoka, Obi Wan, and etc.) it kinda spoiled it because you knew they would almost always survive. I couldn't believe Rex survived getting sniped by a BX Commando Droid. That was hard to believe. Rebels has the same issue, but since the focus is on the Ghost like you said, it makes it worse. It definitely would help to see other rebel cells from their perspectives too.
To adress that.. Phoenix squadron no longer exists as such after the battle of Atollon..so next events cant be credited to the unit (ghost crew will probably join the Yavin 4 cell.. all cells seem to eventually converge in Yavin.. there should be a cell in Dantooine and we know they would move to Yavin time before the battle of Yavin) Phoenix Squadron didnt found the Y-Wings.. they recovered 5 but the rebellion had obviously way more than 5 Y-Wings..other cells like Dodonna's allready had them ..thats why the 5 ships Phoenix cell recovers are delivered to Dodonna.. When did Phoenix squadron made the calamary join the rebel alliance? We dont know if there were more than 4 inquisitors... after all one of them was called the 7th brother.. for all we know there could be at least 3 more... Saving Mon Mothma was a joint operation with Gold Squadron who took the brunt of loses.. Gold Squadron was most likelly based with the Massasi battle group (tought they dont go to Atollon) As for the X-Wings and U-Wings.. we dont know yet if the rebellion allready has them... Filoni once said the Rebelion had more than A-Wings when asked.. only that other models are used by other cells and we were only seeing the Phoenix cell for now. We only know that Filoni said he wanted to make the X-Wing introduction something epic ..like P51 Mustangs in Empire of the Sun
Love how zeb is still carrying that girl that got knocked out on his back at 0:28 and then 15 seconds later at 0:44 he's somehow already manning the guns.
BTL Y-Wing True. In all seriousness, Y-Wings are venerable and hardy starfighters that deserve more credit than people give them. A squadron of them did disable a Star destroyer in Rogue One after all. Plus, nothing short of an X-Wing would be able to give the TIE Defender a fair fight in terms of specs and balanced performance
the second seat was replaced to allow more room for more ordnance. And unlike their republic counterpart they can't accelerate their speed beyond a certain threshold, however they have stronger shields and armor, which is good, because they won't be going anywhere, fast.
The Galactic Republic's original BTL-B model was a two seater, and even though the later single seater BTL-A4 model was the most common model flown by the Alliance, they did also employ two other two seater models - the BTL-S3 and BTL-S3t (tandem seating). The BTL-A4 model was much more versatile than the original BTL-B. Including respectable dogfighting performance against modern Imperial TIE/LN and TIE/IN starfighters.
MechaG2 Actually BTL A4 variant was less popular in the rebellion it was favoured by Gold and Rogue squadrons mostly. Btl S3 had great turret coverage and stronger shields. It is the most versatile ship ever. Dogfighting and explosive power in a tough durasteel package. They could always dog fight most targets, remember even Btl B's were dogfighting CIS Vulture droids.
Erm the empire with just a light frigate and a few TIE fighters took out a rebel frigate and forced the other rebel freighter (with our plot armored characters) to make a run for it, I wouldn't exactly call that losing
I'm surprised how little mention in the comment section about Gold Leader. He is one of the few characters who actually survive the entire Star Wars Movie series.
Ezra may haven't done a lot for this season but his skills as a warrior has outstandingly improved. Now that Season 4 has been announced, I do hope at the finale, we see him as a robed figure walking up the stairs and reached to a platform and alongside him, a student of his own. He raised his lightsaber and he speaks; Flowing through all, there is balance There is no peace without a passion to create There is no passion without peace to guide Knowledge stagnates without the strength to act Power blinds without the serenity to see There is freedom in life There is purpose in death The Force is all things and I am the Force. Inspiring, isn't it?
I like this new Jedi Code dude! I would be more pleased if this was after say, a death of the Ghost crew, like Kanan, and Ezra makes a speech with this in it
Horace Warfield I think she might be the pilot that survives the Death Star run in ANH. She is in the Y-Wing that escapes with Luke and Han. She knew Leia because Leia's mother taught her back on Alderaan. She later became the new princess of Alderaan due to Leia passing the title to her
Where the hell are the X-wings?! Surely there has to be a number of X-wings the rebel alliance has at the ready in numerous places, it can't be just RZ-1s and Y-wings. And I'm sure they had a few old Z-95 Headhunters as point defense fighters as well.
I notice that there was no interaction with astromechs in this episode, Ezra didn't get to know the astro droid behind him. Seriously, only Chopper gains extended attention in this show, evident by the fact we have another CHOPPER ep next!
What happened between the initial tie fighter strafe and the laser cannons attack? Did the shields suddenly remembet that they exist to save the main crew? And why didn't the top mounted lasers obliterated the y-wings? They weren't even trying to dodje!
I still like to think this story happens in between the original EU so I think mama snuck on to corusant to find allies after the force unleashed trilogy even Vader is help clone Marek like in the plot of SW TFU III
Ion canon on Y-Wing? I thought they were Ion Torpedoes that did that...even in strategy game Empire at War (legends) they're Ion Torpedoes. Just like in Rogue One.
in Empire at War they're ion cannons. The projectiles move significantly faster than any torpedo in the game, just to start, and they are explicitly labelled as ION CANNONS when you mouse over the ability tooltip.
Can't compare with clone wars battles. At first I thought it was the scale of the battle but then I realized it was the quality. Clone wars had some small battles. The fighters seem like they are slower too
Junior Ogun Yeah in my comment I acknowledged that fact. The clone wars had some fighter skirmishes and they were still better. The angles of the scenes, faster rate of fire, and faster speed made the fighters deadly. Those battle were intense. Now it is just come from behind, lock on to the ship and fire. Clone wars had flying tricks and so much more to offer
That and Clones were expendable and faceless so you didn't care abput them getting massacred. In Rebels near everyone has a face and a name so they have no grunts to throw in the grinder.
Daniel Tymus They have shielding and hull plating, its just Imperial cannons are way strong. Green lasers and blasters are generally stronger than their red counterparts.
Larry Three then how do you explain seperatist red lasers anniliating victory star destroyers. Also in rebels the rebel ships always are destroyed they need better weapons and shields as wwell as larger ships the size of star destroyers
Daniel Tymus The Rebellion has few resources to use, hence the cheap lasers and ships. The Empire spends all its money mass producing ships with higher quality weapons.

I agree but I don't think it was that bad for the show
It’s cool to see Jon Dutch Vander & Mon Mothma in this episode since they fit in with the GCW timeline.
Love how zeb is still carrying that girl that got knocked out on his back at 0:28 and then 15 seconds later at 0:44 he's somehow already manning the guns.
The Plot Armor is strong with this one!
It’s nothing new for this franchise, though.
Governor Tarkin?
What do you expect ?
You cant kill off all of the mayor characters !
Should have invested in some point defense GrandMoff
Yeah even though he is a Jedi I still doubt that a stormtrooper can't hit him when he is in the air being held in place by imperial royal guards
One of the better space battles in Rebels thus far, in my view
BTL Y-Wing until three of your kind get wrecked by that TIE Defender, anyway 👌🏻
In all fairness a TIE Defender vs Y-Wing is quite a one side battle
The irony is I only saw that bit AFTER watching this clip of them doing well... least it was a TIE Defender doing the dirty work, I suppose :(
BTL Y-Wing True.
+GrowlingTummy Unless Disney makes anymore changes, the X-wing should be completely outclassed by the TIE Defender.
I've just realized that Gold Leader is the same pilot killed by Vader in Episode IV
🤯
He also in Rogue One with Red Leader
Anyone else reminded of the Rogue Squadron games when the Ywing fired the ion cannon
I always thought Y-wings were two seaters
Devin
The ones the republic used were and some the rebellion flew had 2 seats but they preferred 1 seaters
the second seat was replaced to allow more room for more ordnance. And unlike their republic counterpart they can't accelerate their speed beyond a certain threshold, however they have stronger shields and armor, which is good, because they won't be going anywhere, fast.
Also, Rebel Y-Wing's turret can't actually be a gunner's turret, thus the heavy loss of Y-Wings on the First Death Star
The Galactic Republic's original BTL-B model was a two seater, and even though the later single seater BTL-A4 model was the most common model flown by the Alliance, they did also employ two other two seater models - the BTL-S3 and BTL-S3t (tandem seating).

Entropi Yeah the main goal was to refuel the Rebel freighter and they failed to do just that so bassicly the empire won...?
glad to see gold leader in this show 😂😂
I'm surprised how little mention in the comment section about Gold Leader. He is one of the few characters who actually survive the entire Star Wars Movie series.
uhh, not really, he bites it in ANH
orrthehunter you must be thinking about wedge. Vandar (Gold leader) is in Rogue one, and dies in ANH
Well at least we finally get to see the Female Pilot who survived the first death star in ANH
Asumins its her
0:08 I swear to god That Black guy looked like the guy from the battle on Endor when he said "SHES GONNA BLOW" then he blows up Then dies
Probably his twin brother? As the one here died in the Archeon Nebula.
I think he could be an older zare leonis.
@@nikolaiperkins7151 RIP....
@@richardched6085 why RIP?
@@nikolaiperkins7151 Because the guy died lol
"Form up, and protect our transport!" Now that's classic star wars vibes.

1:45 shouldn't the transports docking tube break and the rebel ship be detached
0:15 Is that female Gold Squadron pilot with blond hair a friend of Leia?
Horace Warfield that a cap. Not hair
Horace Warfield I think she might be the pilot that survives the Death Star run in ANH. She is in the Y-Wing that escapes with Luke and Han.
She knew Leia because Leia's mother taught her back on Alderaan. She later became the new princess of Alderaan due to Leia passing the title to her
Evaan in rebels? (faints)
Thomas D LOL shes now the new prince of a asteroid field
She might be Wona Goban from Rogue One
Rogue one reference can't live without them
2:26 two remaining ties
2:30 just an exploding light cruiser and gozanti cruiser
The two TIE fighters are doing a loop around in that second scene.
ok
Where the hell are the X-wings?! Surely there has to be a number of X-wings the rebel alliance has at the ready in numerous places, it can't be just RZ-1s and Y-wings. And I'm sure they had a few old Z-95 Headhunters as point defense fighters as well.
Max Brandt The Rebellion has to steal the X-Wings first, like what they did with the Y-Wings.
Okay, I just thought they'd have them by now.
in the season 4 maybe
Yeah, can't the empire win for once :(
Marlo Marino the show is called star wars REBELS for a reason, dude.
Marlo Marino Win what? A free car?
Marlo Marino the battle at the beginning of the wedge episode features 7 rebels die without a single imperial casualty
+Articus Ramos
Nah, I'm pretty sure a free toaster if not a coupon.
its more fun when both sides win some and lose some
The episode is now on kisscartoon
No, it's not ! I've checked
william laurent it is there
+william laurent yea it is
I never knew video game Spider-Man voiced vander
0:36 Why do they put R4 units in their ship? I thought that just makes them a bigger target

A light crusier and ties could not take down a slow moving ship and a few bombers lol
wait... the Empire with multiple TIE Fighters and an Arquitens-Class, can't shoot down 2 Y-Wings (which are basically flying Bricks)?? 🤔😱
How they come up with the name mon motha in the first place?
Oh and is lieutenant lyste is going to be in more episodes?
Marlo Marino nope.
I still like to think this story happens in between the original EU so I think mama snuck on to corusant to find allies after the force unleashed trilogy even Vader is help clone Marek like in the plot of SW TFU III

Sith Fan yeah
Pablo Jill
No.
His name is Tyson.
He was the second to be shot down by Vult Skerris before entering the Archeon Nebula.

why Vader never show up in the new season
